How many can you take if the doctor recommended 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed? Can you take more if pain is still extreme after 3 hours? ## Hi Grammy, There are a number of reasons why I wouldn't advise taking anything more than what is recommended by your doctor. However, if you feel that what you were prescribed just isn't strong enough, a higher dosage may be something to discuss at your next appointment. While I do know patients who have taken more than this without experiencing repercussions, it's important to understand that everyone responds differently based on their tolerance as well as other individual factors. And due to the high risk of liver damage, it also doesn't seem like a good idea to take more than 325mg of Acetaminophen in one sitting on a reg...

On my formulary list, it shows Morphine Sulfate bead, as a category of morphine available. I am currently taking morphine sulfate ER 30 mg., but the cost is $90 for a quantity of 90 pills (1 month supply). The Morphine Sulfate bead is shown with a cost of only $15 per month. What is the bead type of morphine and would this be an option for me to use instead of the ER type? ## It is just another time released formulation in a capsule, from what I can find. Are you currently taking tablets, or a name brand? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

I live in Memphis and am suffering from chronic pain from c1 and c2 in my neck and the trap area in my shoulder. My collarbone often feels like it is broken. I have dealt with this pain on a chronic and severe level since 2007. I have had no insurance for most of my adult life but my husband was recently accepted as a senior scientist at St Jude Children's Research Hospital.the pain recently got so bad that I had to go to the emergency room even without insurance they gave me dilaudid to relieve the pain as well zofran which helps relieve nausea. I left the ER with a prescription of tramadol immediately made all pain go away. Unfortunately I was only given a very limited quantity and was hoping that I could make a visit to my regular doctor so that I could get a refill she looked at...

I was just curious if there is a website where a patient can access their own history regarding their past and present opioid prescriptions.. To actually see the same iinformation that your doctor and pharmacy can see about your opioid history. I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is possible. Does anyone know what it actually shows on the reports? Thanks for any help! ## No, there isn't. However, you can ask your doctor, or pharmacy to view your records. They are yours, and it is your right to view them. They may charge you to make copies of them for you, but you do have the right to view them. As to what it shows on the reports, it lists what was prescribed, the dosage, and how frequently you had such prescriptions filled, according to DEA directives, as well as whether or...

Which is easier on body? Tylenol 3 or hydroco/acetaminop 5-325 ## Hello, Hunter! How are you? Since they both contain Acetaminophen, neither is really any easier on the body, they both carry the same risks of possibly causing liver damage. As to pain relief, the Hydrocodone is far more potent and effective than the Codeine in the Tylenol 3. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## which is stronger-hydrocodone 7.5 325 or hydrocodone 5 325 ## Hi there! Hydrocodone 7.5/325 is stronger than Hydrocodone 5/325. The first number in each refers to the milligrams of hydrocodone in the pill (5, 7.5, and up to 10) and the second...

Hi there , my question is this how many millagrams of salt is in a watson hydro 10/325, im on amlodipine and lisinopril. Have hypertension and copd, i apreckate your answer ## Hello, Gary! How are you? There is no measurable amount that would affect your blood pressure. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I had some similar concerns, after suffering congestive heart failure several years ago, but all averrable information, as well as my cardiologist, stated that there isn't enough to worry about. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My apologies, I meant available information. I have no idea why or how autocorrect ch...

I am out of my hydrocodone... Can I take tramadol temporarily until I get my prescription? I'm used to taking 10-325s. These tramadol are 37.5-325. How do I take this? Please help! In chronic pain. ## Tramadol is a serotonin drug. My Hubby takes 1 tab every 6 hours. But they are 50 mg tabs. I would NOT go over the one every six hours. But if you taken another drug that has anything to do with serotonin receptors are involved. I wouldn't take. You would be in far more trouble with serotonin poision then your chronic pain. Call your pharmacy if you don't want to call your doctors office. Or just pick a random pharmacy. Better to call and ask them end up in the ER. Please be safe. Call first. I'm not a doctor or in the medical field. Just another person with chronic pain. #...

Can hydrocodone cause anxiety? ## It isn't a common side effect, but it has been known to cause it in some people that take it. Most medications are known to cause the opposite of their intended effects in some people that try them, though no one is really sure why it happens. Learn more Hydrocodone details here. I've taken 2000 mg of Tylenol for back pain. Can I take a Lortab 7.5? I'm waiting on my Chiropractor to come back... ## Wow! No, it is not safe to add more Acetaminophen to the mix within 8 hours of taking it, according to the FDA. Actually, you should not exceed 1,000mgs in any 8 hour period, and no more than 3,000mgs in any 24 hour period. Taking more than that could result in liver damage, liver failure and Acetaminophen toxicity, which could be fatal. It would be best to wait and make sure you doctor knows how much you've been taking. Did you experience any adverse effects? ## I take Lortab 5/325 every 8 hours. Is it safe to take Tylenol (500mg) in between doses?

I ran out of Opana ER 40mg. I take 7 tabs at a time. That is 280mgs. I have Morphine Sulphate ER 200mg each. How do I do a conversion so I know how many Morphine Sulphate to take until I can get my script for Opana refilled? ## Wow! That's a very high dosage to be taking and I'm very sorry that you ran out. How did you run out? Is your doctor aware that you take that many at once? I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I am just concerned, since that is such a large dosage and has the potential to be dangerous. Learn more Morphine details here. As to the conversion, Opana is stronger than Morphine, so you'd require 840mgs of the Morphine to be equal to the 280mgs of Opana, but it is a time released formulation, so you can't cut or split the tablets. And I also have t...

I was given a prescription at my local hospital for Percocet 325/5mg when I had a gallstone attack. How would I possibly end up with Guaifenesin 400mg? ## You should not have. Did you double check with the doctor and pharmacy? Percocet is an opiate narcotic that is used to treat pain, and guaifenesin is definitely not. The FDA warns that Percocet carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Some people do believe that Guaifenesin helps with Fibromyalgia, but other studies have not proven that.

I have had major back surgery. I had 4 fusions. I have 12 3" screws in me. I'm still in chronic pain. What is a good slow release pain medication for the day and something at night when I get home? ## Hello, Josh! How are you? There are actually several available, such as Oxycontin, which contains a time released formulation of Oxycodone. MS Contin, which is a time released formulation of Morphine and the Duragesic patch that contains the narcotic Fentanyl. These are narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. My previous doctor is no longer practicing and I have been a CPP for more than 20 years. For the last 7, I was prescribed 2-80 mg Oxycontin ER twice a day and 30 mg oxycodone every 6 hours for breakthrough pain. I tried one of my friend's 5 mg Oxycodone pills for pain. How long will that stay in my urine? I drink lots of water. ## Oxycodone can reportedly be detected in your urine for up to 3-4 days after your last dose. I've had testicular pain for over 17 years. All doctors claim I have nothing! I am in constant pain that shoots in spasms towards my lower back that prevents me from correct posture. My right testicle has considerable shrinkage, two lumps the size of a pea that hurt excruciatingly to the touch. No meds help. All they do is upset my stomach.
