I’m trying to identify a red and oval pill marked with PC24. What kind of pill is this? ## It contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen, it is a generic for Tylenol, and is available over the counter. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, dizziness, and stomach upset. It is most commonly used to treat minor aches, and pains, as well as for reducing fever. These pills are often found in various first aid kits. However, it is very important to not exceed the recommended dosing, since taking too much of it could result in fatal toxicity. Is there anything else I can help with?

For those owners in the unenviable position of needing Tussigon for their pets chronic cough: as a veterinary specialist in canine and feline practice, let me say we vets would LOVE to be able to dispense this med to your pets since it is highly effective BUT 1) the drug is essentially now unavailable even to pharmacies at the veterinary teaching hospitals; and 2) the DEA in its "wisdom" has decided to make this drug a Schedule II drug (eg. morphine) because of perceived increase in human abuse. ## @FrustratedCareGiver, Thank you for the heads up on Tussigon's availability. It looks like those pet owners will have to resort to other forms of treatment for their pet's chronic coughing. I wonder though, what would be the next best alternative that patients will have access...

What, if any, is an alternative med to replace tussigon/hydrocodone! Because the FED'S have restricted the dispencing, I can't an alternative... My Vet does not have any idea of any other drug that will help my dog. ## Hi Larry, Sorry to hear about your dog. But if someone as knowledgeable as your vet can't recommend anything I don't know what else would be considered safe and effective for a dog in the realm of prescription drugs. But as an alternative option, I would just encourage you to speak with a doctor/ND who understands how to best utilize natural and holistic remedies that may be beneficial in therapeutic doses as well. Here is a brief list of suggestions I found upon searching for "natural pain relievers for dogs" (However this is just a few of many op...

What is the side effects of an adult taking this if it was prescibed to a dog ## lynn2015 the medical field will tell you not to do it, but guess what I go to tractor supply all the time, they say pet meds are not as high grade but they do have the same ingredients, do alittle research and check it out before you do it, ive never had any problems taking meds I bought from tractor supply, ## @Lynn, That's an interesting question to ask. Given what Post #1 mentioned, it's certainly not recommended and I wouldn't be one to encourage you to do so even if it was prescribed.... but thinking in terms of side effects, the "potential" risk factors for a human shouldn't be any different than what you might find on a typical drug monograph for Hydrocodone. According to nih....

This med is being provided locally for our 12 yr old Llaso Apso, who has intermittent intractable shoulder pain and spasms after two surgeries in the area. Tramodol and methocarbamol didn't work, and this med (hydrocodone 5mg-homatropine 1.5mg doesn't work until her second dose. Is that because it's prescribed at 1/4 pill and it should be 1/2...she weighs 17 pounds! ## Hi Lynn, I'm so sorry to hear about your pet. My only guess is that the veterinarian wanted to divide the doses so that it stays in her system throughout the day, instead of the medication being taken all at once (since that might be too much for her size). Your pup's tolerance might also be increasing. I would talk to your Vet about changing the dosage. Also, have you tried any other methods besides m...

Fell in france and ankle is just short of broken and was prescribed enantyum 25mg tablets. Managed to work out that they're ibuprofen. I'm from the uk and am used to 200mg as a standard tablet. ## No, they are NOT Ibuprofen, these tablets contain 25mgs of Dexketoprofen, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, but much stronger than Ibuprofen, hence such a low dosage. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and stomach irritation. Though it isn't used too frequently, Ketorolac is available via prescription in the U.S. It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and the U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Hi. I am looking for a very caring PM Dr. in or around Milwaukee. He needs to be able to fill my Medtronic pain pump and help with other issues, especially RSD. Thanks in advance. ## Hello, Shirlock! How are you doing? Have you found a new doctor, yet? The best way that I can think of to find one in your situation would be to call your local hospitals and check with their social work department. They usually keep listings of doctors that are taking new patients and their various qualifications just to help people like you. :-) Are there any large hospitals near you? ## Been on different drugs for my chronic back pain. Can urovec mess with your menstrual cycle? I haven't had my period and this is kinda freaking me out. ## If you haven't previously experienced any changes in your menstral cycle prior to taking Urovec then it is very likely that this medication is the culprit (assuming that you aren't taking anything else?). Urovec contains the active ingredient Phenazopyridine. The most common side effects tend to be headaches, dizziness, and an upset stomach. More severe, less common side effects can include: yellowing of the skin or eyes fever confusion skin discoloration (blue to bluish-purple) shortness of breath skin rash sudden decrease in the amount of urine swelling of the face, fingers, feet, or legs I've read several patient experiences in the past on various medications where...

My mother has had body pain for the last two days and a high fever. My mother is age 67+. Please suggest immediately which medicine she'll take? ## i want to know which tablets help with fever and body pains? ## @monima, Sorry to hear about your mother's body pain. I can only imagine how difficult pain management can be at an older age like that. Unfortunately this is an information-only site that does not prescribe or sell any medications. For such inquiries I would strongly recommend making an appointment with one of your local doctors or pain management specialists if this is something chronic. However if this is something acute/minor, I would just suggest a few over-the-counter options for additional relief. A NSAID such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, or Diclofenac ma...

I have taken Lyrica for over three years for serious Neuropathies (Level 10 pain...unable to leave my home or function at all) caused by undiagnosed B-12 and Vitamin D Deficiencies. I started at 150 mg twice a day; however, had to increase to three times a day to more fully deal with the pain. Eventually I reduced it back to twice a day as the pain was controlled (90%) and due to excessive daytime sleepiness. Lyrica saved my life. I am able to work full-time again and do. Most side effects disappeared over time EXCEPT losing word recall at times and weight gain (I diet all the time now). But it is ALL worth it to be nearly pain free... Nerve pain is unbearable. I am a 68-year-old woman and healthy otherwise. ## I'm so very glad that this medication is working so well for you. The me...

I need to find a pain management doctor in pasco county that prescribes oxycodone. I'll be honest, I'm a true drug addict. Not proud of it, but I am. For about 3 years now, I've been taking 40 & 80mg OP's, and 30mg Oxycodone religiously. I have a very high tolerance to EVERYTHING. From what I've been reading it takes as low as 6 hours to 24 hours to feel the effects. Yesterday I took a 75mcg/hr non-gel patch around 1:30 pm, placing it on my left back shoulder blade, and knowing it would take a duration to come on, I took plenty other opiates and benzos, hoping I'd wake up feeling like gold from the patch. Well it's 10 am the next morning, nearly 24 hours since taking the patch, and I am not withdrawing, nor do I feel pain, but I still have that bubbly feeling in my stomach that often occurs when one has a bowel movement due to withdrawl...

I was in an auto accident 8/21/96 and ever since then I have been dealing with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD). For the last 11 yrs I have been on Avinza 270 mg (2 120mg, 1 30mg once a day) by King Pharmaceutical and now my ins company is insisting that a generic is made and sold in the US by Acatavis Elizabeth. I cannot see anything current that it has been released. There is a legal suit between King and Acatavis because it states a generic cannot be released until 11/2017. Generics do not work for me and right now I'm fighting it, but would like to know if it is true about Avinza being made and sold in the US by Actavis. PLEASE PLEASE CHIME IN. ## There have been several posts about these recently, they appear to be very new to the market. took 1 and half percet on tuesday a half on wednesday and was drug tested on thrusday evening around 4pm. will it show? i weigh about 230 and 6'2" ## Percocet contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone and since the Oxycodone is a narcotic, yes there is a good chance it will be detected. Most narcotics are usually detectable for approximately 4 to 5 days, after last dosing. There is no way to give a precise time frame, because individuating factors are always going to play a role, such as your own metabolism, overall health, activity levels and etc. Are there any other comments or questions? ## I took percosets for 4-5 days, one a day for muscle spasm.
