What is a white oval uncoated pill that has I-2 on one side? Is it recommended for Gout? ## This is one of the many types of generic 200mg ibuprofen (name brand Motrin.) It is an over the counter dose of an anti-imflammatory NSAID used for mild to moderate pain. Side effects include stomach ache and/or bleed, headache, constipation. ## That is correct, this tablet contains 200mgs of Ibuprofen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is used to treat pain, fever, and swelling. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation, and increased risk of bleeding. Ref: Ibuprofen Information There are also brownish coated tablets with the same marking that also contain 200mgs of Ibuprofen. Is there anything else I can help with?

I’m currently on Tramadol 50mg for severe back issues. What over the counter cold medication is safe for me to take? ## Unfortunately, there are far too many on the market for me to be able to check them all for interactions for you. Is there a specific one that you usually take, when you experience cold symptoms? If so, please post back with the name, and I'll gladly check for you. The FDA warns that Tramadol carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Ref: Tramadol Information

Is it a known fact that opana makes it harder to urinate normally? ## any opiates make it hard to urinate or go to the bathroom on a regular basis. sometimes I sit there for 20 minutes just trying to pee n sometimes I never do but feel like I have to all the time. It's just a side effect of opiates unfortunally :( ## Any opiate will make it hard to pee or #2.....sometimes I sir there for 20 mins just trying to pee n still never go but fell like its coming the entire time....unfortunally It's just a side effect of taking opiates ## What Mare has stated is correct, this can occur with most opiates. Opana also carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Ref: Opana Information However, if it i...

What is the best over the counter or home remedy for the nausea caused by hydrocodone tablets. ## Are you eating with the medication? Taking it with food will help also you may want to snack on some crackers or toast. As a nurse this is what i do for my patents that get an upset stomach while taking pain medication..i hope this helps:) ## What DAR has stated is correct, with most medications, nausea, and stomach irritation can be avoided, if you make sure not to take them on an empty stomach. Hydrocodone is an opiate analgesic, which the FDA warns carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause other side effects, such as dizziness, dry mouth, headache, and constipation. I wonder what the difference is between 15MG MS Contin vs 15 Mg Oxycodone. Is there a substitute for MS Morphine..I take 2 30mg MS Contin twice a day and also with that I take 15MG MS Contin twice per day..which of course is 45mgs at a time..with 3 15mg Oxcodone for breakthru pain. I was taking 20 mg Oxycontin 3 times a day etc. But my insurance wasn't paying for the oxy. So what I take now is paid for. Do any of you have any suggestions of what would work better for the pain..since I changed to morphine it doesn't seem to do the trick..this is long..but any answers would be very appriciated..Thanks.. ## Oxycodone is actually one and a half times stronger than Morphine. So, for instance if you were taking 20mgs of Oxycodone, at a time, to relieve your pain, then the equivalent d...

This looks like a fat round Advil colored pill. But looking at it more it has some type of like plastic that peals off with we are thinking this is not a pill or vitamin. My mom cut it in half and it had bright yellow in it. I'm worried since my stepfather thought they were Advil & I have problems with pain. He and I just thought they were generic Advil. I've taken one dose of 4 & another of 5 & did notice some upper stomach pain that went away. If anything changes I'll go to the hospital. ## Where did they come from? Are the in any type of packaging that identifies them? The 'plastic' that peeled off may have just been an enteric coating that if often applied to tablets to help make swallowing them easier, and to prevent them starting to dissolve while i...

Is there any way of finding out which pharmacies contract with certain distributors? My pharmacy informed me when I went in to fill my prescription that they've been unable to order the fentanyl patches I've been receiving (used to be Mallinckrodt, recently Alvogen), and tbh anytime things deviate from the norm they don't provide me with much information, are very difficult to communicate with, and not very helpful, so them trying to track down a distributor that does have them or arming me with information to remedy the situation some other way is pretty much out of the question. They probably have a contract with only one or two distributors anyway, and apparently they're the distributors experiencing shortage. I looked up fentanyl transdermal shortages and a post ment...

Is it okay to take Instaflex with Declofenac, Tramadol and Tylenol. I know white will bark has a substance similar to aspirin. I'm wondering about the Declofenac (NSAID) with an aspirin-type ingredient. Also, I no longer have AFIB but am still taking a low dose of Atenolol and Flecainide (preventive) and am slowing going off of it. Okay to take the Instaflex. My doc doesn't know a lot about these herbs. ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? I'm sorry, but no one knows a lot about herbs and natural remedies. Since they can't be patented like prescription drugs, no one has any reason to spend the money to evaluate them for side effects or interactions with medications. Have you tried contacting the manufacturers to ask if they have any information for you? ## Can you take instafle...

I found some pills in my kid's room that are white oblong tablets with 5500 on one side & nothing on the other. What is this pill? ## The marking is actually "S500" instead of "5500" (first letter S instead of number 5). As others have stated, it contains Acetaminophen 500 mg (NDC 68210-0013 among others). Here is an example of what a box may look like, but it could be packaged under multiple brands. Inactive Ingredients: - Hypromellose 2208 (15000 Mpa.s) - Magnesium Stearate - Microcrystalline Cellulose - Polyethylene Glycol, Unspecified - Povidone, Unspecified - Starch, Corn - Stearic Acid - Talc - Titanium Dioxide (Since this is an over the counter product, inactive ingredients may differ by manufacturer). I am wondering if anybody else out there has taken Hydrocodone and noticed that symptoms of depression are alleviated? I find that many of today's anti-anxiety and antidepressant drugs come with unpleasant side effects, whereas while taking Hydrocodone they aren't there. The caveat to all of this is that yes, I know that Hydrocodone and opiates in general can be addictive. So long term use would result in withdrawal symptoms. I'm just wondering who else might agree with me on this? ## I have taken dozens of antidepressants as well as been prescribed antipsycotics and other meds for off-label usage, and nothing has worked effectively over the past 15 years. I will take hydrocodone for a chronic pain condition, and, YES, oh my goodness, YES, it seems to make me immune to a dep...

I live in northern ky and walgreens quit carrying watson brand and their new brand makes my whole body hurt. I want to find what pharmacies carry watson? ## I am also looking for the Watson 10/325. All the Walgreens & every other pharmacy around here are out. They said they use a different distributor. If they order them they still can't guarantee that they will get the Watson brand since it all comes from the same warehouse or company. I can't take the substitute brand that everyone is using, it make me so sick & my body just aches from them. I live in Phx,Az. If you know a place that carries Watson Brand please let me know. I can't believe that an entire city of this size can be completely out. ## Yes Watsons are good usually small family pharmacies still carry the...

My Dr. proscripted the above for shoulder pain, can yoou tell me what in it and any side effacts they may have ## Hello, Willmay! How are you? Since this is topical, it doesn't usually cause a lot of side effects, because you absorb very little of the medications, but you may experience some skin irritation at the application site. Ketorolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with pain, both Baclofen and Cyclobenzaprine are muscle relaxants and Lidocaine is a topical anesthetic. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what the Aman stands for, is anyone else familiar with? ## Amantadine is the "aman" medication you're looking for. Though mostly a Parkinson's medication is has also been found to help with ...

I was told Friday by my Pain Management Doctor at my monthly appointment that the DEA was implementing a new law dictating to doctors on how much pain medication they could prescribe per patient per day. It could be equal to no more than 120 mg of Morphine per day per patient and they had to comply within 3 months for all of their patients. I am trying to find out as much information on this as possible. I don't know if my Pain Management Doctor is stating fact or if he is just running scared and if he is stating fact, I don't know if this is federal or state (Alabama) mandated. I spoke directly with the Southeastern division of the DEA in Atlanta this morning and they are not aware of any law of this nature coming into effect and I also contacted another pain clinic locally tha...

My dr in Mont., AL has been prescribing me 3 80mg oxycontin for several years. My visit last week he refilled my script and said it could be the last because he was told there was diversion possibly coming from his practice. Btw that was 3 a day. If he doesn't refill my script on my next visit, I need to find a Dr. quick. Is it legal not to wean a patient off? The pain clinics in this town are full. ## If he cannot continue to prescribe, he should be able to refer to another doctor or clinic that will accept his current patients. Has he suggested anyone? And yes, it is perfectly legal for a doctor to stop prescribing your medications, even if they are habit forming, at any time. They are not obligated to treat you or prescribe anything, unless you are in life threatening danger. As ...

My doctor has approved the name brand for generic Hydrocodone, but I cannot find a pharmacy that will even try to get a brand other than Mallinckrodt, Lupin, or Amneal; the generic brands that are sent to them. I was doing great when Watson had the yellow oblong 10/325 and am at my wits' end. I am in bad pain every day of my life. I don’t know how much longer I can take this pain. Not everyone with chronic pain is just a drug addict but we are all treated that way. Got to change soon or I can’t live this way. ## Have you tried any alternative opiates, since you can't find one of these that works for you? Some other choices are Hydromorphone, Oxycodone, Morphine, and Demerol. The FDA warns that they all carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects...

Hello, how long does Hydrocodone stay in the urine? I have a prescription for 10 mg - 650 mg Oxycodone/APAP. I took 1/8 of one pill due to pain I had in my back. Twenty hours later I had a random drug test by my company. Will it still be detected? Thank you. ## If you have a prescription, then you do not have a problem whether they detect it or not. They cannot deny you the use of legally prescribed medications that treat a medical condition, even if they are narcotics, unless you are a pilot. All you have to do is make sure to tell them that, though they do have the right to ask for proof, such as a statement from your doctor. It usually takes 24 to 48 hours for narcotics to clear your system for a urine test. Are there any questions or comments? ## How long does it stay in your blood?...

What is the difference between the 325mg and the 7.5/325mg tablets? ## Hello, Pat! How are you? There should be 2 numbers listed for anything that contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, for instance, in the second one you've listed, that designates 7.5mgs of the narcotic Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, you've not listed the complete information for the first one, since that only lists 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Can you please double check your information and post back? Thanks! ## All that is listed on my bottle is 7.5-325MG TAB MALLINO ## What is the difference between 5/325 mg of hydrocodone/aceta...

Can anybody recommend a pain management practice near Aurora IL to treat back injuries? The challenge is that many non narcotic medications have not been working well for me and I do not feel good from drugs like Lyrica. I would ideally like a clinic where they would be willing to review my medical history in full and prescribe an appropriate treatment. ## One difficulty you may be creating for yourself is by trying to insist on a certain narcotic medication. Many doctors see this as drug seeking behavior. It is actually much better to let your medical records speak for you, whenever you see a new doctor, that way they can see what has been documented by other doctors and they are more likely to take that under consideration. Therefore, you should always make sure to take a copy of your...
