I have been on oxycontin 80 mg. they made me really sick and did not help my pain. I was just given one of these pills as a substitute to taking 12 "512" percs a day. What am I to expect? How long is the time release? When should I take more if I ate some at 9am? In pain. used op80s twice daily for pain mgmt. Noticed tolerance level went from 20 mgs and up...very fast. realizing my body became dependent in just four months....I quit cold turkey. On day 7 now with just the runs. First time on these so I guess I don't really know what was to be expected. Anyway, I'm in pain but scared to take my meds again at a lower dosage. If I took a 30 mg now, will I have to go thru withdraws all over again? ## No insurance, saved n spent just to go to a pain dr to get on these damn evil pills. Hi ther ive been taking oxycontin for the past 2+ yrs (prescribed by my doc). I usually can only make my monthly script last about 2 weeks and then i find myself having to buy them on the street:( (which is very very expensive) im so sick of planning my life around these F***ing pills and have decided that tomorrow morning is the day i quit. ive taken (hopefully my last)40mg pill at midnight tonight and will be w\d free till prob about 8am. For the past yr and a half ive been up to 200-400 mg of oxy a day depending on what i can afford except when i have my script i tend to take more then. the new reformulatedoxicodone 40 mg ones do not work and have bad side effects. ## I take it you are referring to the time released formulation Oxycontin? We've had many complaints about them not working as well as the old formulation and causing bad/unusual side effects. However, I'm sorry to inform you that there are no longer any generic versions of it on the market. The name brand Oxycontin is the only one that is now available. Having several on the market from various manufacturers made it harder to keep track of the supply and increased the risk of theft and diversion. There are generics available of the regular release formulation, which would be Roxicodone, but not for the time released. Is there anything else I can help with?

It's a bright bright lime green round tablet with oc on one side and 80 on the other. Is supposed to be oxycontin 80 but is peppery tasting and has no coating. I've never had an oxycontin tablet like This. Is it new? ## sounds like a fake oxy if u snort it it would burn ## That does match the description of the old Oxycontin tablets, but I have never taken them, so I can't tell you what they should taste like, or anything else about them other than specific usage information. Where were they found/obtained?

I.m trying to identify a round white pill I found in a suspicious place . one side is scored with GP1 at the top and A5 at the bottom. there are no markings on the other side. can anyone tell me what this is? ## This tablet does not contain Oxycodone, nor any type of narcotic. WHERE CAN I GET ABG 20 MG OXYCOTIN IN COLUMBUS OHIO ## We have no way of knowing what any given pharmacy has in stock, at any given time. That said, there are also no more generics for Oxycontin available on the U.S. market. There is only one manufacturer now and that is for the name brand Oxycontin from Purdue Pharma. Due to the fact that this medication has such a high rate of theft and diversion, this was done to enable the appropriate authorities to keep better track of the supply and where it's going. I would like to know the non generic name of oxycontin. I just had a fussion on the L3 through L5 and a compression procedure on both sides of my lower lumbar. The doctor also prescribed Oxycodone /APAP5mg-325mg tablest (2 every 4 hours) I take the Oxycontin twice daily (1 pill) ## Oxycontin is the brand name, it is a time released formulation of the narcotic analgesic Oxycodone. The name brand for the other one you are taking would be Percocet, it contains Oxycodone coupled with Acetaminophen. They are both narcotics and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and drowsiness. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am living with sickle cell anemia. My doctor for the last 10 years has prescribed me with oxycontin. Now my doctor is changing fields and will ne doing botox treatments and he will not write out anymore prescriptions. Does anyone know of a new doctor I can get my medication from in Las Vegas, Nevada? I do not abuse them but I do need them for server pain I have in my bones. Please help!! ## Have you tried asking them if they have a doctor they can recommend for you? In most situations of this type, doctors will look for someone else too take over their patients, rather than leave them out in the cold. Otherwise, have you considered trying a pain management specialist? That might be your other best option, since they are specially trained in dealing with this type of health problem.

is there a red 80 mg oxycontin capsule ## There are no Oxycontin capsules, Oxycontin is a time released formulation of the narcotic Oxycodone and the time release form is only available as tablets, which are manufactured by Purdue Pharma. The original tablets had the marking of OC on one side and 80 on the other, while the new replaces the OC with the letters OP, they are both round and green. In addition, the only 80mg dosage available in the time released, with the markings that I mentioned above. Are there any other questions or comments?

Oxycontin is a time released medication, containing the active ingredient Oxycodone, which is a very potent narcotic. It is time released over a 12 hour period and the dosage frequency should not be changed, without your doctor's approval. This is usually only done in severe circumstances, where someone's pain levels are really out of control.

Somebody gave me a green and a red real chalky like pill. They both have OC and 80 stamped on them. They look fake or even like ecstacy to me. Can anybody tell me what they are please? ## I doubt you are really going to find out what they are, short of having them lab tested. There is an Oxycontin tablet in the original formulation that was a light green color and had the OC 80 marking on it, however, the red ones have OC 60, so that's possibly what they are. Have you tried asking the person that gave them to you?

I'm trying to find a OTC medicine that I can use if needed that looks like oxycontin 80. I have to change medicine to ms contin because my new insurance co. don't want to pay for op 80. The dr. wants me to turn in the remaining script. 90 pills to throw away. see my problem ## umm...yeah you may lose trust in your doc and lose your right to using narcotics for pain management. ## your right I didn't think it out, thanks. I have always been honest with my pain dr. ## And a doctor is going to be aware of the markings on the tablets and will be able to tell that they aren't Oxycontin, especially since Oxycontin are so distinctive. There is only one manufacturer of it, so there is only one marking for each dosage to be familiar with. Are there any other comments or questions?
