I took about 1/3 of a 8mg suboxone at around 9 this morning and it is around 4pm now and i am still feeling dizzy and naucious. Is this normal or did i take too little of a dose. ## The proper Suboxone dosage really depends on the drug you were taking and how much of it you were taking, so it can vary from person to person. Learn more Suboxone details here. What dosage have you been told to take by your doctor? You may have taken too low of a dose, but like I said, it depends on how much you were taking of the drug you were on. Did you wait until you were in full withdrawal before taking it? ## I just started sub's (1, 2mg) yesterday for oxy addiction. I slept well, woke up with no W/D symptoms. I feel very dizzy, normal ? Also, can I take a 5 mg valium as I have been using them for...

I have a friends urine that is 3 days old. I need to do a test for the doctor to make sure I've been taking my suboxone. Will they be able to tell that the urine is 3 days old and will they still find suboxone in that urine? ## I have a similar problem. I used a friends urine and put some pieces of my subutex in the urine. How will this show up on a test? ## Don't know! My friend uses my clean per then heats it up in the microwave right before he goes and he's been passing ## I need suboxone in my pee for my clinic. That's not a problem cuz I take my meds but I had to stop smoking pot cuz they make me go every day for peeing dirty for pot. I hear freezing it works but I don't know when I'll have to pee next usually its around the 15th or 16th. So does freezing yo...

I have been taking 40mg methadone everyday for almost a year now and I really would like to switch to suboxone. I know you can't take suboxone until you've had atleast 48hrs from your last dose of methadone, so yesterday and today I've taken an op 80 instead. My question is will I be able to take a suboxone tomorrow and not go into immediate w/d since it will be over 48 from last methadone dose? Or Should I be taking something else instead of op 80s to make the switch? Thank you in advance for any advice! ## Actually, you have to be in full withdrawal, from everything, before you can take Suboxone, so that means you can't be taking the Oxycontin, either. Suboxone actually contains 2 active ingredients, the narcotic Buprenorphine, coupled with Naloxone to prevent the abus...

my doctor retired and was writing a prescription for methadone. Im looking for a new doc who will do the same. ## Hello, Tom! How are you? If you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis for the treatment of pain, you'll need to see a specialist, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year. What is your general location? That information would make it easier for someone recommend a good doctor in your area. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Try finding out who his or her patients were referred to from the office. That's going to be hard, I'm surprised he didn't let you know he was leaving. I wouldn't d...

How are you? I'm sorry, but the clinic is your only option. Under current laws, a private doctor cannot prescribe it for addiction or maintenance treatment. My daughter is 6 months pregnant. She is taking 80 mg of methadone a day through a local clinic while recovering from a H addiction. She also takes clonidine for tourette tics. I have noticed that her tics are worse than ever and realized it may be due to the lamictal. The lamictal is for her anxiety and possible bi polar. She stopped the lamictal cold turkey a few days ago. I am worried about that and the side effects that could cause to her and the baby. I had wanted to talk to the doctor before hand. She is 24 and impossible to communicate with. She recently moved back home (an out and back in and still cussing and fussing-etc)... We put up with the behavior for the baby and our 3 year old granddaughters safety. I also realize my daughter is sick and desperately want to help her. My ...

The best possible thing you could ever do for yourself is to reduce and stop taking these as fast as possible. I was fortunate to have the time off of work to do this after 2 surgeries. I was on buprenorphine for several years. I grew tired of being a slave to this medicine and reduced to 2 mgs. Per day. Then I quit taking them completely. I will admit, it is hell for 3 weeks. Then 4th week was not so fun either but, you will start to notice how much better you gradually feel. Since the 1/2 life of buprenorphine is 12 hours vs. Oxycodone being 4 hours. It takes roughly 4 weeks to rid your body of this DEVIL. Its very rough to get through, some days you just feel like giving up, especially after the 1st week! I shouldnt have lived through my bodies toxicicity of infection when my bowel r...

I am trying to be supportive of someone who is addicted to pills (oxy, perc, vic-anything opiate). I thought I had an addictive personality until I watched him self destruct and lose everything for these things. He went to a 7day treatment center. And is now taking Suboxone. I used to do a lot of diff. pills when I was younger. Not even sure what they all were, I'm thinking mostly nerve and muscle relaxers, boyfriend used to just be like, here take these. I know we did somas, zanis and klonipin for sure, otherwise, don't really know. Took zanis about everyday, then we made a baby :) lol. Accident of course. Anyways, I am tempted just to try a Percocet just to see how it makes me feel. I just can't imagine losing everything I ever had for those things. At any rate, he is on S...

"NPs and PAs who complete the required training and seek to prescribe buprenorphine for up to 30 patients will be able to apply to do so beginning in early 2017. Previously, only physicians could prescribe buprenorphine. Once NP's and PA's receive their waiver they can begin prescribing buprenorphine immediately." hhs.gov/about/news/2016/11/16/additional-steps-expand-opioid-treatment.html ## I saw that they are now able to do the training to be able to write for Buprenorphine. Where I live, we have the option of 2 or 3 Buprenorphine doctors that are all 30+ miles away. I live in a small town that is absolutely consumed with drugs, nearly everyone here is on some type of opiate and there simply aren't enough spots in the treatment facilities for all of these people. Been going to Nashville TN clinic for ten years. Past 5 years on a two week take home code with 0 problems. Didn't want to go to monthly. Got a dry socket and dentist gave me vicodin 5's. She knew I was on the methadone but realized after ten years the pain management aspect is non existent. Filled scripts, got antibiotics too, and took one each. Called clinic counselor to ask if i just bring the bottle in on next dosing day or since I already took my monthly u/a to not worry since i would be clean anyway next month. She said you just lost your code. Dumbfounded I took my remaining 11 pills to the clinic to plead my case. They said if i fail a drug panel i lose 20 mgs a day and code so she would just act like i didn't report it and when the filled script shows i just lose my...

I need a dr in the dallas/ ft worth area that will prescribe methadone I tried Suboxone for 5 years no luck. Methadone has worked but I'm working as a CPA for a firm and the clinics are so difficult these days. Any help would be appreciative. Also if you didnt get it was for opiate treatment. ## HI, Ryan! Sorry about the problems that you're having. However, a general practitioner isn't allowed to prescribe Methadone for addiction. Under the current laws, it can only be administered for that in a clinical setting by those that are specially trained in its use for such. Learn more Methadone details here. I wish I had better news for you, but the laws leave no leeway for this. Why didn't the Suboxone work for you? ## There has to be a dr or better "clinical" Experi...

My regular doctor left the clinic I have been at since 2010. New doctor at same clinic wants to wean me off my daily 280mg of methadone in just 4 weeks time. Have been on this dose for 25+ years... Mayo clinic, and my original doctor from Hawaii and clearance from two cardiologist have said no reason to stop at this point and no risk. Mistake was to not check this new doctor out first who I have since discovered is notorious for pulling this on patients for no reason. This happened conveniently for this doctor on a Friday..... can't even try to see another doctor until Monday...will also contact a health attorney.... ## Unfortunately, a health attorney will not likely do much good. No doctor is obligated to prescribe you anything, or treat you, at all, unless you're in life thre...

If u run out of suboxone, can u take a cap full of methadone? If so, how long the wait before taking suboxone again? ## Hello, Papotimbal! How are you? The Naloxone in the Suboxone is likely to just neutralize the Methadone, that's actually why it's used in it, to prevent the abuse of other narcotics, while someone is under treatment with it. And, if you have a treatment contract with your doctor, taking the Methadone may also violate that. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I took 6 mg of suboxone yesterday and the only thing besides pills (which I dont want) that I can find today is methadone liquid ..w...

I would be so thankful to have a Dr. Please help if you can ## Hello, Linda! How are you? I'm sorry, but regardless of why you were going to the clinic, an addiction treatment center is what's listed in your medical records, so a private doctor will not be able to prescribe it for you. I have been prescribed Suboxone for 6+ years after choosing to come off traditional opioid pain medications for chronic pain. I have also been prescribed Adderall for many years for ADD. My current physician (as well as others I have contacted who prescribe Suboxone in my area) is telling me that he cannot prescribe Suboxone for pain. He acknowledges that I have never abused drugs, but says that he "has" to put it on paper that he is treating me for opioid dependency. I am required to go to meetings. Now he is telling me that because of new laws in Alabama, he will no longer be able to prescribe my Klonopin. He has never given my Adderall which makes my life so much harder. He admitted when I last saw him that he would prescribe the Adderall if I were being treated with traditional

I am a male in my mid 40's. I live in the Charlotte n.c. area. I've been on methadone for the better part of 12 years and I have come to believe it is a miracle drug. I have been on methadone for over a year. My dr got arrested, now I'm out of my meds and I don't know what to do. I'm going through withdrawal and it sucks. My primary dr will not prescribe it. I am in so much pain, I'm starting to lose my mind. ## They never should have prescribed methadone for you. Not for pain relief. That's probably why the doc got arrested. Methadone is used to get people off opiates. But now your addicted to methadone. Get off that drug. You'll be a slave to it and can't live without it. You'll wind up in a methadone clinic. If you do, detox asap.
