If a pregnant woman is on seboxin before and during her pregnancy, what, if any, long term effects could there be for her baby? ## "Information about the use of buprenorphine in pregnant, opioid-addicted women is limited; the few available case reports have not demonstrated any significant problems due to buprenorphine use during pregnancy. Suboxone and Subutex are classified by the FDA as Pregnancy Category C medications." Referenced from: Also in the link above, if you scroll down to the "safety" section, you will find a link that says: "Clinical Guidelines for the Use of Buprenorphine in the Treatment of Opioid Addiction (pdf, 1.1 MB)". If you follow that link and go to page number 68 on that pdf file, you will find some very useful information regarding the u...
I am currently using Norspan patches for the treatment of chronic pain, I am moving to Beijing China and dont know if I can have this medication prescribed in China. Is Norspan available in Beijing China? ## Norspan contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, a very potent narcotic used to treat severe, chronic pain. And, as to what's available in China, I am sorry, but I can't find any information on it. Most other countries are not regulated as strictly as the U.S. and Canada, so it can be very difficult to find such information. Have you tried asking your doctor or pharmacist if they have any information? ## Jane says that she has since heard from the pharmaceutical company and they have advised that Norspan is not available in China. Thanks for your replies.
I am looking for the spelling of a medication that sounds like Butrol, not sure of the spelling, that is used for people to get off of narcotics, maybe something similar to methadone?? ## I can't find anything under the name, but perhaps it was one that is commonly referred to as Methadol? The actual compound name is Levacetylmethadol. More details here: However, this one has been discontinued in the U.S. Does anyone else have any ideas? ## I think this was the drug they nicknamed LAMB. It was discontinued due to the negative effects it had on the heart. ## Bruce is correct, but the nickname was actually LAAM, which you can see in the page I linked to. The newest medication for drug addiction that has proven to be very effective and has enabled many people to become completely drug ...
I have been on these drugs for over 10 years now and my husband lost his job and insurance and last month I was able to get my medications and am trying to wean myself off of them not so easy as I thought Im now out of soma norco clonazapam and elavil but still have probably 60 methadone left. I cant get to the doctor this month to get refills,so Im scared. My doctor wont see me without any insurance or money, and thats not all he is making me take a what he calls a mandatory drug test to see if the medication is in my system and I have to pay 20 dollars for it. Yesterday I got a bill in the mail from the lab that does the drug test as I was looking at it I found I am also being tested for cocaine, amphetamines, thc, and methadone, and the lab wants me to pay them 290.00 for a drug test eve...
I read the reviews and I question if they were written by the manufacturer. I was on Butrans. Started on 10 mg and was eventually switched to 20 mg. When I was switched to 20, at least noticed it did something. I was miserable. I had been on hydrocodone and Opana and I was switched to Butrans by pain management dr. I kept begging to be switched back to anything I had been on because Butrans just didn't cut into the pain. I was not given anything for breakthrough pain (I have switched doctors since). Anyway, it was very mild and had serious side effect of depression and I believe some weight gain. Would not recommend it to anyone in chronic severe pain. Had same problem as others in that it does not last for 7 days. I changed doctors and was put on combo of Oxycontin, Nucynta and Tra...
I took 40mg of methadone a day for four days.....think i will p clean 9 days after my last methadone use? ## Methadone is usually detectable in your urine for up to 5 days after use, however this can vary, depending on your individual metabolism, overall health, activity levels and other factors. If you have a prescription for it, then you should just inform them of this, when you go in for testing. Are there any other questions or comments? ## i took 10mg of methadone 13 days ago im still testing positive for it ## And as I said, the time frame can vary for any given person, there have even been instances of people who have taken something once and then tested positive for it for the rest of their lives. The human body is just funny that way and there is no way to say when anything mig...
My doctor switched me from methadone to oxycontin about 4 months ago, yet I'm still testing positive for it. I was on methadone for over 6 years, but I figured it would have been out of my system within a couple weeks. Yes, I am very inactive because of my condition, and No, I do not drink water......EVER!!! I'm a 43 year old male who suffers from Osteo-Arthritis and DDD (Degenerative Disc Disease) of the lower lumbar (L-3 L-4 / L-4 L-5). I've also been in 9 car accidents, which left a ton of scarred muscle tissue. I've had an ACL repair on my left knee, 3 surgeries on my R shoulder and 1 on my left because of bone spurs. (Impingment Syndrome) Has anyone ever heard of somebody testing positive for methadone after stopping it for 4 months? ## These types of things have co...
OK I need to know if 8mg subutex (not suboxone) will show up on a drug screen for probation I know suboxone does not but all I could find is subutex an need to know if it will show up (asap) .thanks ## no it will not show up. It has the same active ingredient as the suboxone. Only way it'd show up is if they specifically tested you for the use of one of the two. And most probation tests are 5 panel and test for general substance abuse ## That is correct, the active narcotic in both is Buprenorphine and it requires a special test to detect it. It doesn't show up on the standard ones. I'm sure eventually it will be included on more tests, but at this moment, it isn't. Are there any other questions?
I am a pain killer addict. I was addicted to Lortabs for about 7-8 years. I began seeing a new doctor & was prescribed Suboxone 2/.5 mg & was on that until about 6 months ago when I was changed to Buprenorphine due to it being cheaper. My question is, I have become increasingly depressed & dealing with anxiety as well as becoming very withdrawn & moody. Could that be a side effect of this medication? It helps so much & I don't want to stop taking it but I need to know. Thank you in advance. ## That was supposed to say I was addicted to Lortabs NOT Mortars. Stupid auto-correct. Sorry. ## No worries, I've had some amusing autocorrects myself, especially on my iPad. And yes, all narcotics can cause these types of issues as side effects. I remember when I was on ...

My doctor wanted to change my methadone to a new pain med that starts like L. I believe he said Luna? I take the methadone for RSD and I am not getting the relief that I use to get. I am frightened to start a new medication because I do not want to take something where you build up a tolerance. Presently I take 80mg. of metadone per day in four does of 20mg. It does not show up in my urine or blood so the doctor feels taking a different medication would be what he wants to do. But I need more information before I go that route, does anyone know anything about this new drug? ## Well, first of all, it is always possible to build up a tolerance to anything you take regularly and require a switch to a different medication or a dosage adjustment. This is perfectly normal and the time frame c...
My friend takes roxi's and the last time he smoked them was Saturday night 3 days ago and did not smoke since until yesterday afternoon. But he started on suboxone on Sunday until yesterday morning. He smoked 4 of them and then he did 3 more last night. He is taking the last suboxone today in the afternoon and he is drinking a jug of ice tea which has primarily water. He goes to see his probation officer tomorrow morning and he gets piss tested. Will he be okay for the test?? I am so scared for him because he could get violated. Please someone answer me. Thanks ## Narcotics such as Oxycodone and the Buprenorphine in Suboxone can be detected in urine tests for approximately 4 days, after taking them. This time frame, however, can vary from person to person, depending on their individ...
I have gained custody of my grandchild because of parent addiction. They are now being given Suboxone, the rehab person says "no, they can't get high from it". I believe they can. From what information I have read he high is just not as strong. So can a person "get high" from suboxone? ## In theory, yes, someone could get high from it, because it still contains a narcotic, which is Buprenorphine. However, there are 2 factors that come into play to prevent their doing so and abusing it. When someone is in addiction treatment, the dosage is carefully calculated to be a maintenance dose, that way it prevents withdrawals from the other drugs they were abusing, but doesn't give a high effect. And the second is that it also contains Naloxone, which prevents their takin...
no writing, or numbers on pill liquid smells of rubbing alcohol but not sure if it is...just one pill in the bottle of liquid ## This is just a guess, but what you're describing sounds like Methadone, many treatment clinics provide their take home doses in this manner. It is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, but it is a narcotic and may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. If I start suboxon treatment, how often do you have to have a urine drug screen? ## The frequency is up to the individual clinic, some require them very frequently and some do not. There are just certain government guidelines that they have to follow, in order to retain their waiver to provide Suboxone treatment. They also have to require their patients to receive counseling, or some sort. You should be able to get this information from whatever clinic you are considering. Have you asked them for more information? ## yes it does depend on the clinic or doctor that has perscribed it to you . I was on suboxone at a clinic and twice sometimes no times a week would i get drug tested. I am currently on methadone i feel it works better than the suboxone for me . ## The clinic I go to only dru...

In your fluid intake? Did the Methadone show up in the test?
