Dr. Verwon, how are you? I have been on suboxone for almost 8 years now. I was addicted to Oxy for almost 10 years. I went on pain management because I have a lot of medical problems that caused me severe pain. I still suffer from pain. The suboxone helps take the edge off the pain, sometimes. But, I'm also afraid if I get off the suboxone I'll be back to using pain pills. Can I stay on continue to stay on suboxone as people do with methadone maintenance? My Dr. has not said anything about tapering or taking me off. He knows my situation. What do you think? Thank You! ## Hello Cats! How are you doing? I am fabulous, just keeping busy, thanks for asking. Yes, it can actually be used for pain, too. There are many people that take it for pain, rather than addiction treatment, or fo...

After 10+'years new Dr. stopped methadone and break thru Meds. for no reason, nor would give me one. Thankfully I try to take as little as needed. So I still didn't have a great time withdrawing, not fun at all. At 57 with a rare autoimmune disease that causes blood clots+ had first stroke at 36. Second at 50. Plus A-Fib. and many other related issues. No suggestions,no referral and honestly took anything other than he prescribed. So he has blacklisted me in two states, and I truly don't know why. And when I asked, he yelled one more word and I'll have you throw out. So now Constance pain, feel totally lost and WHAT about Quality of Life. And do no harm. Just want a true honest doctor, that also believes in Quality of a human beings life. Live in NH banned and also MA. Do...

Ive been taking methadone since 2005 for chronic pain. Ive recently developed 2 other painful health conditions that cause great pain however my current doctor refuses to prescribe what ive been prescribed before. He will give me 90 pills a month sometimes 45 depends on his mood. Im not even getting adequate pain relief as i was being prescrbed 120 before. Had to change doctors cuz of insurance purposes. I dont know what to do. He also has let me walk around for the last 2 yrs with chronically torn liagaments in my right and left ankle. I begged for a mri and finally got one after 2 yrs showing i have severe damage some liagaments are no longer visible. Yet he thinks im lying about being in pain. Is this legal? Can he really put a patient off that long? I can no longer walk normally if ...

I want to know if my girl friend can be charged for taking teck while pragnant she has came down 2 a quarter a day and bye the time baby gets here down 2 quarter every other day could the baby still withdraw and i been hearing about tn new law against mothers taking while pragnant even if thy r given by dr anyone knows anything ## Hello, Tapout! How are you and your girlfriend? Subutex is the one that can be taken, while pregnant, but her doctor needs to be aware of it, because yes, the baby could experience withdrawals. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

someone please help! cant find any info on this at all! at my last visit at sub dr my drug scren came back a faint positive for methadone and even worse they said that the naloxone did not show up at all just the buprenorphine and the bupren was too at a higher level than it should be and were redy to discharge me cuz they were convinced i have been selling my meds or something! they did not want to hear anything i had to say and talked to me like i was a lieing piece of crap! I take my two 8mg suboxone everyday and that is it! I do take very large amounts of tylenolpm daily and have done so for years so could this be the cause or if i have some kind of liver damage or kidney damage from taking so much of the tylenol for so long could that be causing my screens to be totally out of wack...

Why do people stay on suboxone for long periods of time? I was on 8 , 10/325s a day for 6months, and I was able to get off opiates with 2, 8 mg pills of suboxone. I took a whole pill (8mg) the first day, 1/2 (4mg) the next day, 1/4 (2mg) the 3rd day, and I stopped taking it. I saved 2mg just in case I withdrew. But I had little to no wd's. I would relapse a few months later for about two weeks. And was able to get off the opiate with just one 8mg sub. By taking a 1/2, a 1/4, an 1/8, and an 1/8 the 4th day. No wds. Knowing I had access to the subs gave me a way to use the opiates recreationally cuz it felt good. Kinda wish it wasn't available. But if it wasn't, I'd be stuck on the opiate. Thankfully I haven't used in 16 months cuz it can get expensive. :-\ ## I guess ...

im moving in 30days and I need to guest dose first in washington state for 2 weeks and then me and my daughter will be moving again to hawaii and I need to know can I guest dose there until I transfer there? How long will it take for trandfer to go through? ## Hello, Jennifer! How are you? This is actually going to be up to the individual clinics, though it really shouldn't take long for them to receive your records and do the transfer. However, I would suggest asking those in charge at your clinic, I am sure they'll be able to give you a better idea of the time frame. I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check this information to be certain. I am on day 2 of w/d from a hefty norco addiction and was attempting to cold turkey it with the help of prescribed 5mg valium I am prescribed for anxiety. I ended up feeling pretty sick (of course) and started feeling weak and wanted norcos. I am determined to quit so I bought an 8mg suboxone from a friend. I had already taken 3 of the Valium throughout the day and due to the cloudiness in my head from w/d and Valium I swallowed the first half of the suboxone instead of letting it disolve. Rookie move. I waited 45 minutes and felt absolutely no changes. I decided to take the other half under my tongue. I am feeling EXTREMELY high. Nodding off high. Slow breathing. Nauseous. Killer headache. I'm not really trying to expose all this to the ER as I'm a hypochondriac and my first re...

I need some suggestions about my medications? I think the doctor is really low dosing me in comparison to my pain. I would like to know if others agree and what has worked for you. I have chronic back pain and was taking 80mg of methadone. Had Disc Surgery in the neck and turned out fine however the lower is causing problems and now for some reason I have developed swollen feet and ankles which is from what the doctors believe right now a disease like MS. Anyway the pain in my feet from the swelling is so bad, horrible, terrible I can barley walk. Can not work. Scream a lot in the middle of a step and in my sleep. When I can sleep. no more then 2 hours or less at a time or at the entire night. i have tried to explain how bad the pain is to my pain specialist who has seen the extreme cha...

I take 3 (8mg) of suboxone everyday. I try 2 take them at the same time each day. I take 2, then, the last one. I even swish my mouth with water b 4 taken them, and, brush my teeth. I take Biotene b 4 bed, as prescribed by Dr. My ? Is, does anyone else suffer with dry mouth when taken suboxone? It doesn't happen all the time, or, all day. But it interferes with the strips getting caught in my teeth, not going in properly and taking longer 2 dissolve. Any similar problems from others? Any suggestions would b helpful. TY! ## Hey Cats, That happens to me sometimes and I don,t think theres much you can do about it except the swishing water around before you take it. ## Hi Jolter! Thank you 4 replying. I am 33 and have been on the clinic for 2 years & a daily oxy user for 3 years prior. My highest dose was 120mg I started tapering 6 months ago and was down to 40mg and felt fine..... Then I lost my job & had to do a financial detox.... 40-0 in 10 days. Symptoms were not too bad till the last dose day. The last week has been hell no sleep, burning diarrhea, RLS, skin crawling ect...... I went to the ER they gave me a clonidine patch & sent me home. Haven't noticed a difference at all. I've tried taking valuim & sleep aids but fear I'll be hooked on them, at best I'll sleep for an hour & wake up in a pool of sweat...What can I do? Please tell me how long this will last? I had lots of surgeries and many health problems. Used opiates 4 ten years and became addicted. I was on methadone 4 almost 5 years. Now I've been on suboxone 4 ten years. But, I still suffer with pain. Don't want 2 go back on pain pills, but, don't know what 2 do? ## I feel the same as u. STUCK! I had many of surgeries and have a lot of medical problems. I was on heavy duty pain meds 4 ten years. Then I went on methadone, that helped with pain. But, I decided 2 taper off after 5 years. I was on 120mgs and got down to 24mgs. At that point the withdrawals were so bad, I walked into my Drs. Office in tears begging him 2 help me. He said I had 2 choices. Either stay on methadone and increase the dose or go on suboxone. I went right on suboxone that day. I suffer all the time wi...

Methadone is the only medication that works for my chronic pain.I had back surgery, knee surgery, fibromyalgia, arthritis, degenerate disc disease, migraines. Methadone seems to reach every bit of my pain compared to morphine or oxycontin I really need a Dr. who will work with me. I'm 46 years old and feel much older, please get back to me asap. I have medicare and access insurance, Thank You. ## Hello, Dennis! How are you? Any doctor can prescribe Methadone for pain, but most are very reluctant due to the fact that it is so highly addictive. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, having them refer you to someone would be the quickest and easiest way to get the help you need. Does anyone know of a good doctor in that area? ## There is a pain clinic in mercy hospital ...

If someone was taking 8mg suboxene 1x a day for 8 years, could they take about 30 milligrams of liquid methadone for 30 days to detox from suboxene and have no withdrawals/side effects. Please advise asap. ## Hi Gene! Before you start the methadone you must be in withdrawals. Are you going through a clinic or on your own? Since you've been on suboxone for awhile, it may take longer than 30 days to get clean. Methadone in it self is addictive too. If you are going to do this in a month you will probably still go through withdrawals for awhile. Again, being you were on suboxone for some time. Let us know how you are doing.
