my husband has been taking suboxone for about three weeks and in the last week he has had stomache flu symptons, such as severe nausea and vomiting...and he just wants to spend his day in the bed...is this a normal reaction? or should i be concerned? ## How is he doing? In this case, it's a bit difficult to say, it could be due to side effects of the medication. But, if he's taking it for addiction treatment, then he may not be on the right dose and could be experiencing withdrawal effects. Has he contacted is doctor? You can learn more Suboxone details here. ## ok im going 2 be brutally honest with u...sounds like he might be using the drugs that he's takin the subs 2 get off of...i was only sick w flu like symptoms during my 1st week cuz i was still takin vicodins. ## It i...

I am scheduled for knee replacement surgery and I have preop blood work orders coming up soon. I have been taking Norcos for pain and ran out. Unfortunately, I started going through withdrawals. My daughter gave me a methodone pill to help. Now I am concerned it will show up on my blood test. I don't want to appear like I am an addict, I desperately need this surgery due to the pain it is causing me. I am 63 years old and I realize I made a serious mistake as I have been reading about methadone and it is a dangerous drug if not monitored by a physician. How long should I wait before my blood test?

I had a serious car accident a few years back. The hospital put me on methadone. I'm having to go to a clinic daily and most everyone there takes methadone for addiction issues. I really would live to see a private doctor that can help with my pain med and other physical issues due to the car accident I had in Houston. I'm back home in Dallas Tx. Please help if you have some info. Thanks! ## Hello, Robin! How are you? Unfortunately, with the clinic in your records, no regular doctor is going to be able to prescribe it for you. I know you weren't going for an addiction issue, but that's basically what it looks like and it's illegal for a regular doctor to treat for that. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effec...

need a solid answer if sub will show up on a dr.s urine screen 10days after taking the sub?? HELP!! ## No, it will not show up that many days after taking it. Most opiates clear from your body in as little as 24 to 48 hours, though it can vary a little, if you have been taking very high doses for a long period of time. Suboxone is a synthetic opiate, that also doesn't show on all tests, they have to be doing a broader test to detect it. It is a narcotic and can cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any comments or questions? ## thankyou for the advice!! much appreciated! ## Yes it showed up in mine 90 days ## no if u only took 1 sub and it was 10 days ago ur fine ## takes a full 28 days to clear your system of suboxone....I k...

i have a chronic illness for the last 25 yrs, i have been on methadone for 10 yrs, and that the only thing that helps me with all my pains, crest, raynaulds, dry mouth, dry eyes, fibernalasia, hardening of skin, pain in joints, pain in back, just pla\in hurts without my methadone, i need a doctor to wrote it, i dont get it illegally, but would love to find a doc to write it for me i had great insurance.. ## Hello, Tootie! How are you? I am so sorry about all of your health issues. Technically, any doctor with their license to practice medicine can prescribe it, but the difficulty is finding one that actually will do so. Due to the new directives set forth by the DEA last year, most general practitioners will no longer prescribed controlled substances, except in certain very rare cases, ...

I took one 8 mg 24 hours ago. First one I took. Will I feel opiates after 24 hrs ## Hello, Rick! How are you? Most likely not! Subutex tends to take a stronger hold on your opiate receptors, even though it's a rather weak opiate itself, so it prevents the others from having much of an effect. It would be best to give it several days. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How long did your doctor advise you to wait?

Woke up this am feeling great, been off suboxone for almost 2 days. Slept great too! Been reading my bible and praying. Going to look to get some B12 . ## Awesome, DeeDee! I'm very glad that you're doing so well. It's only been 2 days, so you may still experience some withdrawal symptoms, so please be on the watch for them. According to the NIH, they may include nausea, drowsiness, fever/chills and diarrhea. What dosage were you taking and how long were you on it?

Hi. It started innocent and now im in opiate hell! I moved to H and struggle to stay clean. I know suboxone is great for wd, but I feel I need it forever. ( im older, 49) lls, I hear horror stories abt sub wd. I also heard that its expensive and that drs cut you off mid treatment, which is wd hell! 1) Will it ever be affordable? 2) Holy Cross in Pontiac has a good 4 mth sub program. But can't 4 mths get u hooked on sub? 3) What other options are there besides methadone? Im scared, confused, and cannot believe how bad my life and health is. I feel like im dying. If anyone has been to HCC, can u share ur experience. If anyone's been on H and is now sober, can u share how u did it? Im at ropes end. I played rock star long enough, i want to embrace religion and follow a narrow, heal...

My insane ex wife convinced the court that I was using drugs and drinking constantly. This while employed as a high ranking executive in the finance industry. Mansion, benz and caddy's ect. During the divorce I was forced to drug test weekly for six months, Drank, took prescribed oxy's and xanax almost every weekend, and never failed ONE 12 panel drug screen. Remember, the people that write those charts profit by convincing that labs that their product will detect for ridiculous amounts of time. It's bulls*** and i knew it. I'm fulfilled my obligation and no longer need to test at all. Exhale!

The clinic I'm at has tapered me down to 2mg subutext but now they refuse to cut the pills any lower any suggestions cause I'm feel stuck in a rut, I get two weeks take homes any idea? ## Hello, Supersouth! How are you? How long have you been on it? They may feel that you're trying to taper off of it too rapidly. To prevent opiate cravings and withdrawals, it is usually a very slow process, which is part of what helps many people become successfully drug free. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone else have any advice or suggestions to offer?

I have been taking suboxone 16mg a day for 12 months. But i was told by my doc it can be used for alcoholics. i was not addicted to opiates, just alcohol. i tapered from 16mg to 4mg in just 7 days, which was what the doc said to do. i have been off suboxone for 8 days, just about to come up on 9 days.BUT, i have had the mildest withdrawal symptoms. on day 3 i had runny nose, and day 4 mild RLS for 2-3hrs, then i was fine. my question is : IS IT POSSIBLE THAT BECAUSE I WASNT ON OPIATES, THAT I AM NOT GOING TO WITHDRAWAL THROUGH HELL LIKE EVERYONE I READ ABOUT THATS IN SUB WITHDRAWAL. could i have dodged the bullet? ive slept for 7-10hrs every night with no sleep aids. im getting more energy instead of less. i just cant imagine that almost 9 days later that i would suddenly get hit with wi...

Is there any form of medicaid in Michigan that will cover office visits and prescriptions for suboxone? ## @hhhbk2469, Looking at the 2014 Preferred Drug List for Michigan's Medicaid Coverage (linked below), I didn't see Suboxone listed on there. However it appears as though Methadone is; in case your doctor recommended that as an alternative. michigan.fhsc.com/PDL_20141220f.pdf Everyone responds to these types of medications differently though, so at the end of the day I just think it's best to do what feels right for yourself, and if that means holding out for Suboxone through some other type of coverage then that may be something to talk with your doctor about to see if he/she can help recommend a different program that does cover the type of med(s) you require. I hope th...

Are there any medicaid mma plans that covers suboxone ## Hi Chris, According to the link below, Medicaid coverage for medication like Suboxone is said to vary "considerably" by State. See FAQ #4 on the following patient list: buprenorphine.samhsa.gov/faq.html You didn't mention what State you were in, but Florida is the only State's program I'm seeing information on when I type in MMA, so just wanted to double check that. Looking online at Florida Medicaid's drug formulary, the closest thing I found to Suboxone (Buprenorphine + Naloxone) was a combination of Pentazocine + Naloxone. It may also be a good idea to contact your local Medicaid office (human resource department) for more specific details involving coverage and whether or not they allow any exceptions t...

Lets just say its the most evil drug I have used and was eluded to believe it was good for me. No names shall be named and the DEA is aware of Butro. God knows who you are out there that marke this crap. Evil does exist in this world and it is sick. May this person of whom markets these miracle drugs ahem find the way and accept Jesus in heart as Lord and Savior . God Bless You All. - Bring Light Into The Darkness, One Step At A Time. ## It's sad that you think this way. I was an opiate addict for a long time and had tried every different way to get clean. And butro is the only thing that has ever worked for me and helped me stay clean. ## Just to add another opinion, I actually agree with Anna (post #1) on both her points, more notably in that Butro (Buprenorphine HCL) has helped m...

I was addicted to oxy for 6 years. I've been taking subutex 8mg tabs for about 3 years now. I am currently prescribed 3-4 tablets per day (up to 32 mg/day). I have done countless hours of research online about subutex and drowsiness (really bad drowsiness), and have found nothing. I'm wondering if anyone who is prescribed as much as myself has some sort of routine or advice to stay feeling good but without all the drowsiness. I usually take 1/2 pill six different times throughout the day (as needed)...I'm scared as to how my body might react/overdose if I take 2,3,4 pills all at once, so I spread them out. Another question is...am I currently taking too much? Because sometimes I feel as though I could manage the whole day with only taking 1/2 pill and stockpiling the rest FO...

So yeah, I messed up over this past weekend and I'm not wanting to here how wrong I am. Because no one is perfect. And I'm beating myself up enough on my own. But I do want to be clean like I had been for 6 months now. And right now I feel as if I still need to use the subutex and just start tapering dwn more in which I hve been doing over the past 6 months.... And i'm only on (1) 8 mg tablet a day now. And that is down from having to be on (3 to 3 1/2) 8 mg tablets a day. But my doctor has to start drug testing all patients and I really need to pass this 10 panel drug test.... So if someone can please give me my best route to go. And please don't just bash me. I'm down on myself enough. I just need some helpful techniques. Like the one I was told to do but don't...

After 31 months in a state correctional facility (for a non violent crime/ misdemeanors) I was released. I started taking Suboxone 8mg and have been since May 2011. I wanted to stop taking them but I knew the detox was not going to be easy and they don't really have a detox for suboxone except for Methadone and I do not ever want to go down that road again. I relapsed 14 day's ago and started shooting dope and have not taken a sub since. I'm going to now attempt to detox myself off the dope with suboxin. Today I ate 1 lorcet and one and a half vicodin and still feel sick. It has only been maybe an hour since I ate the vicodin and will wait awhile to take another. Tonight before bed around 10pm I will take another half of vicodin and tomarrow around 10am I will take a piece o...
