I have run out of my soma prescription. I usually take 2-3 at a time. How many 10mg flexeril would be an equivalent dosage? ## From what I could gather, Soma is definitely considered to be the stronger of the two. However, since both medications can effect each person differently and I don't know your pain tolerance, medical history, etc, it would be unethical for anyone other than your doctor to try and tell you how much you should be taking to ease your pain. Your heart is a muscle too. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable taking so much of a powerful muscle relaxer before resorting to other pain management options. I took my first and only capsule of amrix 3 days ago and I still feel drowsy. I would like to continue with a smaller dose, like 5 mg. My Amrix is time released and a capsule contains many white beads. Can I simply divide the capsule and take a portion at a time? ## No, it is not safe to try and do that with any time released medication. What dosage are you taking? You doctor should be able to prescribe a lower one for you. Anyhow, from what I was able to gather, it stays in your system for roughly three days max; but nine times out of ten basic drug tests don't test for soma (Carisoprodol). Additional information I found states the following: "Soma itself is eliminated from the body quickly, within a day. However, the metabolite, meprobamate (that soma breaks down into), can take several days to be cleared from the body and can show up in the urine for several days." - if they actually test for it. I have been taking 350MG soma/carisoprodol AND 2MG Xaxax since I had a neck fusion 10 years ago (permantly disabeled now).For some reason my dr. changed my medication to Valium.the valium is not controlling my muscle spasms.I have a drug test in 2 weeks and I had to take some soma.will this show up on my drug tests.If he doesnt change it back I have to find a new DR.Can you answer this question for sure?I may have to order online.My arms,neck and aspecially my back is in chronic pain constantly. ## The active ingredient has similar properties although they are two different types of medicine.
