It is used for serious migraine headaches. It is a very common migraine medication. It is not a controlled substance; however, it can make you very very tired after the caffeine loses its effect. ## Butalbital is a member of the barbituate family, so it can be physically addicting ( 'habit forming'). Your experience may vary. My experience with Fiorinal was that I DID build up a tolerance, so that the doctor had to prescribe me ever larger & larger doses, taken more & more often. However, I was not aware of any withdrawal symptoms when I was not taking the stuff. ## The pill has west word 785 what is it. ## Westward and it'...
hi, I'm currently shaky, sweaty, heart is racing, feeling hot and I think I am beginning to get the runs and don't know if it is a drug interaction with my sumatriptan and fluvoxamine ## Hello, Rhi! How are you? Yes, it is is possible. Have you consulted your doctor? You should do so immediately to have this checked out, if it is serotonin syndrome, it could be very dangerous. Other symptoms, as listed by the NIH, may possibly include body jerking or twitching, over responsive reflexes and seizures. How long have you been on them both?
Generic capsules don't work as well as the brand name "Fiorinal," but it's very expensive (about $3 per capsule). I actually have found the generics to worsen my headache!! You may want to try Creighton generic--I think it is manufactured at the same plant that makes the brand name Fiorinal. Taking a larger dose is NOT effective and can cause severe stomach problems because of the aspirin, and may lead to ulcers. The best (and only effective one I found) generic tablet was by Westward, which doesn't manufacture it anymore--I have been writing to try to get them to change their business policy on this. Maybe if a lot of us write to them they may change their mind????
Updated in FiorinalRizact is a generic form of Rizatriptan (trade name Maxalt), a 5-HT1 receptor agonist of the triptan class of drugs developed by Merck & Co. for the treatment of migraine headaches. It is available in strengths of 5 and 10 mg as tablets. Rizact is made by Cipla in India and is usually available over the counter.
Updated in RizatriptanDoes anyone know of an effective pain killer for Trapezius Muscle Tension Migraine Headache? I used Fiorinal with Codeine by Watson, Brand Name Only, since 1998. But something is not the same about that drug anymore. It simply does not knock out the pain. I am not addicted to it. I am able to go days without it, when there is no pain and I can function. It's too bad that the drug has been changed in some way, because my life is now spent on the couch most days of the month because of the unrelenting excruciating musculoskeletal migraines. I am trying to find another pain killer, since Fiorinal with Codeine has been changed and no longer works. I wish the manufacturer(s) would listen to us who use their product and believe us when we tell them the change they've made in the drug ...

the only things different is:that plain bupap has no caffeine and twice the tylenol per pill than generic fioricet:Butalbital ## Hi, Mary! Sorry about the problem you're having with migraines. It could be that it's the caffeine that's helping your migraines. It does work for alleviating headaches for many people and people that frequently indulge in caffeine often find themselves getting headaches if they suddenly stop, or lower their intake. Learn more Caffeine details here. I frequently found that when I had a headache that nothing else would touch, the Excedrin products with caffeine often alleviated it. Do you drink coffee or tea regularly? ## Should I be concerned now that im taking the blue generic fioricet instead of the white generic. Im nervous about the change. The...
I have suffered chronic pain from miserably failed back surgery and also have fibromyalgia. I have been in PM since 1994 and had to scratch my way through the medicine cabinet along with submitting to a kazillion different tests, therapy, the works. I wear 100mcg fentanyl patches, take 10/325 Norco for breakthrough pain, 6 mg tizanidine four times a day, 100mg trazadone at bed and bupropion 150 SR twice a day. I also suffer depression when my pain goes uncontrolled. I cannot take Cymbalta, Lyrics, gabapentin, desipramine, and SSRIs do NOTHING for me. I have had an rx for Lorazepam three times a day for as long as I can remember, but hate them! Have a script for 90 I filled in January and it's barely touched. I only take one when I am about to burst or my last nerve is standing on en...
Hi, My girlfriend suffers from bipolar, and she has been taking depakote for about 2 months now, and it has worked more than wonders, problem is is that she ran out, and the treatment center that perscribed it wont refill it because she is no longer a patient. How can she get a perscription refilled before that, and if she cant, what do we do? ## use inhousepharmacy.vu. It will save you the trouble of having to argue with your doctor.
red capsule ## Midrin is a combination medication that contains Acetaminophen, Isometheptene and Dichloralphenazone, it is most commonly used to treat severe headaches and migraines. Learn more Midrin details here. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Can you get the drug without the Apap (acetamoniphen)? I can buy and add that in. I know I definitely need the sedative part of Midrin as without it (even with strong opioid pain meds) I cannot fall asleep thus cannot totally get rid of the migraine (lay down in a quiet, dark room with a bag of ice on my head after taking my pain meds and then need to sleep...without a sedative, it can take a very long time to sleep and thus I lose a lot of my life as I deal with chronic i...

They are claimed to be the same, with the same dosages of the active ingredients. However, many people have posted similar complaints. The best suggestion I can make is to contact your doctor and ask about using an alternative medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I just took my first fiorcet capsule since the cange over from tablets. They only difference in it the capsule and 25 less mg's of acetimetaphen. So far it's worked fine on busting my tension headache. My suggestion is take a small amout of tylanol along with it. Hope this helps.
