My CVS pharmacy states haven't seen name brand Fioricet in a long time. I live in Lexington Ky. They say they keep reformulating the generic. Took out more acetaminophen, then put it back etc etc. What happened to the go old blue tablets with the head on one side. Those WORKED! Thank you ## Hello, CL! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem that you're having. However, at this time, the name brand is not available and there is no word if it will become available, again, or not. Have you consulted your doctor about the issue? You may need to try a different medication, if the generics aren't working for you. Side effects to this...

Is the fioricet with Mia 110 on one side a narcotic drug with codine ## Hello, Keith! How are you? No, you have listed the correct ingredients. 325mgs of Acetaminophen, 50mgs of Butalbital and 40mgs of Caffeine, as reported by the manufacturer Mikart Inc. This medication is most commonly used to treat migraines and its typical side effects, as reported by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, stomach irritation and insomnia. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello - I have been on Depakote for about a month now 125mg 3x a day. It's working OK (I preferred Tegretol TBH, but developed a severe allergic reaction to that med.) I just got my period for the first time since being Rx Depakote and the amount of cramping pain I am experiencing is much, much worse than normal. (It woke me from a dead sleep, doubled over in pain, cold sweat, constipated.) I took 1000mg of ibuprofen after it woke me up after having taken 1000mg of ibuprofen 4hrs before (the ibprophen dosage is nomal, but usually at 6-7 hr intervals, not 4 hrs) I currently weigh 270lbs (I am experiencing a bit of weight gain and some edema in my legs)... Is this outside the expected side effects, or should I contact my Practitioner as soon as possible. Thank you. ## Yes, unfortunate...

blue & yellow capsule for migraine headaches ## I am in need of Fiorinal 3 for migraine headaches. Doctors seem to not give them for some reason even though they make make my life much more liveable. I am even on disability because of them. Any help please. ## As a chronic tension/migraine sufferer for the better part of 30 yrs, and having used this medication successfully for 20 plus yrs - I have a few things I can share with you. First, you have to find a doc that will address, "quality of life" and has a great trust relationship with you. If both these are present, you should be able to negotiate a prescription, based on your needs. You also must be open to trying other things. I cannot tolerate the normal triptans, due to heart and bp issues, so I'm somewhat limited....

The price in Missouri has doubled and it is not covered by ANY medicare D plan anyone know why the price is so damn high when there is a generid? ## Unfortunately, I have no answer for you. The price is always going to vary from pharmacy to pharmacy and from area to area, whether a medication is name brand or generic. What price where you charged for it? Did you try checking with different pharmacies? ## I live in California and I purchase my Butalbital with codeine at Costco. Without insurance 120 pills are only $40.00 and most of the other pharmacys are going to charge you up to $270.00 for the same generic brand. How crazy is that. ## I live in Lake Odessa, Michigan and am rather disturbed that the drug price on Fioricet has gone from a cash price of $42.41 for 180 tablets to $88.00 ...

I'm an 18 year old girl who has trouble sleeping. I found that Florinal helps but last night i took 5 pills of 30 mg. When i woke up this morning and all thorugh out the day i have been having severe stomach pain. what is happening to my body? How is the 5 pills affecting it? ## Im not a Dr but sounds like too me too much aspirin. Five pills is a lot of aspirin(at least 200mg per pill)just my opinion. ## Firstly, I am not a doctor but Fiorinal is not a treatment for sleeplessness. I'm unclear as to which Fiorinal you're taking. If it is Fiorinal C 1/2 grain, that would contain 30 mg Codeins but it also contains 325 mg of ASA. If this is what you took, you have consumed a massive dose of ASA and this would indeed explain the stomach troubles. Fiorinal should always be taken w...

Have reduced Depakote, as it gave me painful sensation of numbness and tingling, still have this 8days after not having any. Other reason for not wishing to continue this regime was severe fatigue, used to run regularly, could only manage a few yards, every step was an effort. Also No motivation, strange feelings of not being myself, irritability, which was horrid as I am normally very gentle ,kind person, do not ever want to go through this withdrawal again felt horrid for weeks, Practiced EFT and Yoga ,also mindfulness to ease chemical symptoms, heard online, that this was once used as an industrial solvent. Psychiatrists, give too high a dose of reducing at 250mg. Research suggests that you must only reduce 10% a month, especially if you have been on drug for more thaN A FEW MONTHS,Ho...

I'm 19 and take 2 adcodols sometime if I have migraine- in the beginning when I started taking adcodol my hand would tingel and I wouls slowly feel numb and like my body was drifting away-and sleep deep and then wake up feeling shakey-but no headace. These days when I take it- my hands also star to tingel, but my breathing feel off and my heartrate feels very slow and when I then fall asleep its like my mind is on a hamster wheel- and it feel like I'm thinking of a million thing at one- I also start to feel paranoid and asif I'm am aware and my mind aswake while I am asleep. When I wake my breathing feel a bit laboured. What is the reason for this change from when I started taking it to now? ## Our bodies do change with time, so it's always possible to suddenly develop a...

I started last week with a nasty tension head/neck ache. I had some OLD fioricet (From 2012!) that I gave in and took yesterday. One tab did nothing, so took 2 and another a few hours later. Now today I'm still feeling crappy! I am just worried about rebound headaches. How long could I take this safely without running into problems? I'm trying my hardest not to take it, headaches just got so bad :( ## Hello, Wendi! How are you? I'm sorry about the headaches. Unfortunately, there is no definitive answer that I can give you, because it can always vary from person to person. Some people can take this medication, as needed, for a very long time and never get rebound headaches, while others may experience them frequently. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication ...

I was on Hydrocone for my migraine/tension headaches for 3 years my dr decided to stop prescribing pain meds to her patients. Now I'm at a loss NJ Is really cracking down. My new GP referred me to a neorologist and I was thinking about asking him about Fiorcet not Hydrocone but how do I ask without sounding like a addict? ## Hello, Lola! How are you? Fioricet contains a barbiturate, not a narcotic. It contains Butalbital, Acetaminophen and Caffeine. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and nervousness. There should be no reason to worry about sounding like an addict. Just be honest about how bad they are and don't try to demand that he prescribed something. Is there anything else I can help with?

I couldn't understand why the brand name fioricet, which always worked in the past, was not working today. I did some research and discovered that the previous manufacturer was Watson Pharmaceutical who were bought out by Actavis Pharmaceutical. I called the FDA to leave a msg asking if the formulation Actavis sells as the brand name is identical to the one by Watson. When I get a reply, I will post. This happened once before with one of my mother's Parkinson's meds. I learned, when the new company manufactured it, the 'active" ingredients remained the same but there was a slight difference in the inactive ingredients. In my mind that should make it a generic, but was not the case. If you have concerns/complaints, I would suggest going on the FDA website and call or ...

After taking this medicine, I got an extreme migraine. Is this normal?? I got the migraine about s half hour after taking the pill. I've suffered through migraines before, so if this will give me a migraine I'd rather not take it. ## Hello, Erica! How are you? This antibiotic has been known to cause headaches, as a side effect, but not usually full blown migraines. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. You may have just experienced another migraine, but it's hard to say. What are you taking it to treat?

I've been on depakote six months and previously a year. It gives me the shakes and makes me zombie-like at times. I want to talk to my doctor about alternatives. Does anybody have any ideas of what else I could try? My diagnosis is bipolar. Thanks. ## Many of the medications used to treat bipolar disorder can cause such things as side effects, so it's really a matter of trial and error to find what works for you, without causing them so severely. You can learn more about bipolar disorder and the treatment options here: That should give you a good idea of what to discuss with your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with? ## i am 62 , recently my Psychiatric tripled Depakote even with only my little irritation against my ex wife who provoked me , so I took Depakote for 2 mo...

What are the milligrams of but/acetaminophen/caff 50-300-40 cp? I'm 75 and take a # of medications for restless leg, fibromyalgia and arthritis. I've never taken this drug before, but had what the dr.s think was a migraine weeks after eye surgery. Eye dr. has checked my eyes. Do I have to take this drug every day? Script calls for every 6 hours. I'm a little cautious as I've already had a horrible reaction to clamaspan. Thanks, earle ## Hello, Earle! How are you? The dosage is 300mgs of Acetaminophen, 50mgs of Butalbital and 40mgs of Caffeine. Usually, this medication is taken as needed, rather than all the time. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, nervousness, insomnia and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?
