I usually have migraines with my periods. I went to my doctor and she prescribed Primolut N tablets to be taken 3 times a day until my period stopped. I took them for 3 days and my period and migraine went away. Two days later I got a migraine and my period restarted the next day. Is this normal? I don't know what to do. ## Hello, Gayle! I'm 21 and have been taking 500mg (morning) / 1000mg (evening) of Depakote ER. I was not in range so my doctor recently increased me to 1000mg/1000mg. Now I have severe gas and abdominal pain. I've read in previous posts that this side effect is usually transient. I was wondering if there is anything special I can do in my diet and or lifestyle to reduce the pain? ## Hello, Gabe! How are you? Have things improved, at all? Not really a lot you can do, side effects are going to happen, if they're going to happen. However, your doctor may approve your taking something to alleviate the gas. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi, I am taking 500 mg/2x daily of Divalproex Sod ER (Depakote) for Bipolar 1. It works very well. However, my ALT is 76 and my AST is 59. I am not sure that these higher than normal liver enzyme test results are bad enough to require me to stop taking Depakote. I know there is a wide range of abnormalty. Has anyone had experience with liver enzyme problems? Please, share your experience. Please, don't tell me to ask my doctor. He is a bit unsure of all of this---wishy-washy. ## many doctors that aren't specialists can be confused by such. How long have you been taking the Depakote? The signs that it may cause acute liver injury can manifest like this within the first 6 months of taking it. Thus, if you've been on it 6 months or less, you will most likely need to stop taking...

When I finally fall asleep I get woke up from the awful pain every night at 3-4 am at the same time crying for help. I've been prescribed a 2 week course for the treatment of migraines which consists of 25mg. It will then will be increased to 50 mg if found effective. So now I just started the 25mg course and find an issue that I am constantly hungry and wanting to eaet (which is strange since I thought a side effect would be loss of appetite), and I have a constant light migraine on one side. (Luckily not a severe one which incapacitates me for a few days at a time). And I am also feeling moody (like PMS symptoms), although it isn't that time of the month plus my skin is breaking out pretty badly. Could the Toplep be causing this reaction? ## Have you consulted your doctor? The symptoms you've reported aren't listed as common side effects, and as you noted yourself, loss of appetite i...
Greetings, This will be my first post. I am hoping for some information and help, regarding side effects and vision. I apologize for the long length. My Mother will be 87 on Sunday and she has been having terrible headaches (migraines). She is getting floaters in her vision, numbness in her face and sometimes down her arm. She is now terrified that she is having mini strokes. They have done multiple tests and have found nothing. Her doctors have tried to reassure her that everything is fine: She does not believe them. They have been adjusting her Cumadin dosage over the last few weeks; I am sure this is the culprit and this is why: As a teenager (54 now), I had them. It started with amebas floating in front of my eyes and having the feeling that I was physically standing behind glass (L...

headaches every day, worse at night, last severly30 min, sometimes three times in one night,on one side of face, temple and jaw and brow bone, excrusating pain ## Have you found out what's causing them? They sound pretty debilitating, I'm very sorry. Do you take any other medications? Do you have any other medical conditions? Learn more Fioricet details here. ## My friend it sounds like you are suffering from migraines or cluster headaches you need to see a headache specialist or neurologist to be formally diagnosed and MRI's and CT Scans don't help to diagnose these but do help to rule out other things like aneurysms. Now I am not a doctor but a migraine sufferer for the past 16 years and have been "recently" diagnosed in 2005 after spending weeks in the hospita...
Hello, My neurologist is retiring after my next visit and he has informed me he fears I will have difficulty finding another doc who will prescribe Fiorinal #3 for me due to "it's reputation." This although I have tried everything even before these headaches worsened when I developed MS. Nothing else works or even renders me functional. Watson used to have a link on it's site to help patients identify doctors who had a positive attitude toward your med. Do you have such a link? Please advise and thank you.
Updated in FiorinalI have had migraines since a wreck when I went through the window of my car and got a Traumatic Brain Injury. The last 5 years they have gotten worse. So bad that I rarely have a good day. I spent two years getting into a dr in Texas where I lived and was given limited amounts of Norco or Lortab. I had to move to Louisiana where in the last two years I have spent getting into see a Neurologist. After seeing him all he prescribes is Fioricet which is not helping. I had a migraine 5 days the week of Christmas. I spoke with him about this last week (when I was having a migraine in his office and crying in pain) and he would not help me. Death has to be easier than living like this. The thing is this....Anything you take overtime your body will become addicted to. I don't know what to d...
Hi. I've been taking Fioricet for years, from the name brand to the generics. The name brand was effective, the generic less so, but no real complaints until last week. My Pharmacist, unable to locate the generic I'd been taking for the last several years, was only able to find the MIA 110 generic caplet. Though it's supposedly made up of the same ingredients, it feels like an entirely new formulation. Is this just a case of my body needing time to adjust to it or has anyone been on this new generic only to find it ineffective? ## Hello, Jesse! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Results with this generic have been mixed, according to various other people who've posted on the site. Some have had good results with it, but some haven't,...
