Lyrica Is Dangerous / Class Action Suit Anyone? (Page 13)

Updated

I have crps in both hands from carpal tunnel release...after several months, I was worse, not better. My workmens comp dr. said " You will have chronic pain the rest of your life and you will just have to learn to live with it"...oh thanks doc for screwing my hands up, not to mention how it has drastically has changed my life and limitations. I have been seeing a pain specialist ever since and that was back in 2001 when I had the release. I was on lyrica for the last 6 years, I have been off of it for three months. Now that I think back to when my severe depression started was not long since I started taking it. I don't know how many times I said I hate my life and I wish I was dead, I had thoughts of taking all my prescriptions and going to sleep for good! By the grace of god, I had my four nephews to take care of and I truly believe they saved my life! My pain management N.P wanted to keep a close eye on me when I started taking it, so I went from going every six months to every three months and when my depression got worse every two months...nothing was done, I was on 600 mg. a day, why didn't she try to lower my dose? I complained about the swelling and she said she didn't have any other patients complain, I was taking lyrica for the pain in my hands and the whole time it was making them worse! There were many time I would be driving and make a turn and not know where I was...one day I couldn't remember my address, I couldn't remember conversations I had with my boys, I had no brain! When I came off lyrica and I did it slowly...it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Hot, cold, night sweats, nauseous...I was at the grocery store and literally felt like a monster coming out of me, thank god I am off lyrica! My lawyer is checking on a class action lawsuit, all of us that has had a horrible experience with lyrica, we all need to come together and they need to pay for putting this horrible drug on the market!

I was on 600mg for 3-4 years. My memory was basically erased. I was irrational, hateful. I was taking it for Trigeminal Neuralgia. It quit working. Doctor took me off of it. He followed the withdrawal rate specified by Pfizer. He cut me from 600mg to 300mg then to 150mg. He expects me to take 75mg for 10 days then just stop. He refused to let me taper off slower. I am changing neurologist. I started tapering June 1,2017. It is now Sept 5. In the first 2 months I lost 30 lbs. I just have gotten
an appetite back this past week. I could not physically eat. I was severely nauseated, the skin in my hands peeled off, I could not sleep, my pain escalated, my nerves are shot. I have not been able to drive, I have barely left the house, my depression and anxiety has soared. I called Pfizer, they sent me a questionnaire. I told them I wanted a refund of all I have spent. Today I received a letter from them saying "please note only on refund per product, per person may he available." To me, that is a form of them admitting that they know what Lyrica is doing to people. I'm not accepting it.

Re: Annette (# 239) Expand Referenced Message
Here is a link I found! I wish I could do more to help you all with your Class Action Lawsuit but I am over the 2 year period of using Lyrica so I can't sue, but I pray that all of you have success! I just want Pfizer to pay! Unfortunately it looks like these lawyers are State based so depending on where you live, those lawyers need to be contacted. I can only suggest that if anyone is successful in getting a lawyer to start a lawsuit to post that lawyer's info here and the state they are in. Good luck to all!

I understand how it can cause suicidal attempts, as it caused me to do the same. It ruined a relationship and affected my entire family. I almost died. I have thousands of dollars in medical bills. Lyrica needs to pay. I want to sue... Count me in. Anyone near me in North Central Texas area that wants to find an attorney, let me know. {edited for privacy}

Not sure if this is helpful or if anyone has tried this law firm but here is what I found:

"The Schmidt Firm, PLLC is currently accepting Lyrica induced injury cases in all 50 states. If you or somebody you know has been injured, you should contact our lawyers immediately for a free case consultation. To contact our Defective Drug Litigation Group call toll free 24 hours a day at (866) 920-0753."

I can't do anything as I'm from Canada and past our Statute of Limitations.

Good luck!

I have been taking lyrica for multiple years for nerve pain and was never told my body would become dependant on the drug. Recently i had to go without the drug because of a pharmacy error and literally felt like i was dying; chest pain, severe nausea, headache, severe anxiety. I literally had to be bed ridden.. Currently i want off the medication. But I cant because it makes me feel deathly sick without it. Had i known this i never would have started taking it, let along continued taking for so many years. I want compensated for mental, emotional and physical and i want them to pay to get my body off the medication.

Hi , I'm just a few weeks of the worst time in my life!!! I was only on 150 mg. Lyrica for a year with my last pain management physician. I never felt it was helping but continued to take every day. I started getting severe abdominal disorders and allergic reactions to meds so thought one night I didn't want tonnage it amymore. Woke up with seizures and seating and couldn't talk for hours! I had to take one to stop the attack. After researching I found others were having problems as well. The tapering process took 4 months of pure HELL! Severe withdrawls mania, seizures, worse depression, suicidal thoughts, can't function to this day yet? I'm having 4 to 6 panick attacks every week now and mania and horrible attacks! In have been to ER, immunological , internist, gastrointestinal dr. and no one has any answers. My health wasn't that great but I still had quality of life and now it is horrific! Imy about a month put and do not feel normal anymore there is some type of brain damage going on! I'd like to know as well how I can sue them for not telling me what this drug did to me?

Re: Pamela (# 256) Expand Referenced Message

Oh I hope that someone can take the reigns on this lawsuit. There are so many people suffering from the effects and I was one of them but my involvement with this medication was 10 years ago. So I am so waiting to see this come to fruition. Thanks for the update Pamela. Keep us posted! ??????????

It would seem like a very large Attorney Group would at least investigate this drug. I have been off for 5 yrs and my short term memory will never get any better.

I am given Lyrica for my fibromyalgia and the doctors don't seem to listen or care that not only it wasn't helping my pain but it seemed to cause other problems like worsened insomnia, memory loss and I was so high I could not walk in a straight line let alone drive or take care of my children... I wish a class action lawsuit would happen because this drug is the worst thing I was ever on and it's been prescribed to me for 4 yrs
