What numbers are embedded in 50 mg Losartan white oval tablets ? ## Are you looking for the plain Losartan tablets, or the ones with Hydrochlorothiazide? Some of the markings on the plain Losartan 50mg, white oval tablets are: LU P22 Z16 APO LS 50 SZ 213 50 114 54 125 M LN50 and 952. However, this is not a comprehensive list, since this a generic medication, there are many companies that manufacture it. Do any of these match the markings on the tablet you have? ## Thank You Verwon. You have put my mind at ease that I have the correct prescription ## I am a 62 year old Male. My blood pressure is now back to normal and I'm wondering if can just stop taking the losartan or do I need to wean off of it? And if I need to wean off of it how do I go about doing this? ## Hello, Laura! How are you? There is no cure for high blood pressure, it is a condition that must always be managed, so just because it's lowered with the medication doesn't mean that you no longer need the medication. Stopping it without your doctor's approval wouldn't be a good idea. If you stop the medication, even via tapering which is the safest method, there's a chance your blood pressure could just start to go up, again. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension. Are you having some type of problem with the medication? ...

I have been on Losartan 100mg for more then a year now with side effects I believe. I also take Metoprolol 50mg. I believe I am taking to much for my high blood pressure. I don't have the high blood pressure anymore but I would like to just take one of these. ## Hello, Sherry! How are you? There is no cure for high blood pressure, so you still have it, it's just that the medications are doing their job and keeping it down. Stopping one could cause it to begin going up, again. You are not on a very high number of medications, nor are you taking very high doses. Multiple medications are often prescribed to help bring someone's blood pressure down as fast as possible. You may be able to try stopping one, but you shouldn't do so, without your doctor's approval, because t...

Dose losartan-hctz 50 mg come in a greenish color pill number on it is7365 and on front 93 ## Hello, Hazel! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 50mgs of Losartan. Losartan is classified by the FDA as an ARB that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I called to refill my Losartan, which has always been small & a greenish color. The pharmacy gave me a large, white, oval pill with no scoring & only the # 13 on one side. I can't find it anywhere online. Can you help? This is not the 1st time they have screwed up & I want to know what it is b/4 I take them back in case it is something serious that could have hurt or killed me. I mean, I could have taken it just assuming that it was a different manufacturer. Because obviously someone is incompetent there.. ## Hello, Shalimar! How are you? I believe the marking on your tablet is actually intended to be an uppercase i and it is manufactured by Virtus, they list it as containing 100mgs of Losartan. Is that the correct dosage? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibl...

I am on Atenolol and losartan pot 50mg. Well, I am so itchy. My feet itch and my knees have red splotches on them. I was on Lisonopril and it made my liver enzymes so high. I have never had a heart attack, I"m 55 years old and have high blood pressure. What drug can you recommend? thanks. ## Hello, Maria! How are you? I'd suggest asking your doctor about trying Atacand/Candesartan, it is listed by the FDA as an ARB, just like Losartan, but it's known to cause fewer side effects. Its typical ones are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension. Have you had the itching and splotches checked out by your doctor? That could be due to an allergy, or perhaps just a circulatory issue, too.

Will this med make you feel like you have the flu? I feel light headed. I drink no water at all, can this be causing the problems I have? ## Hello, Dennis! How are you? Yes, it can do that, especially if you don't drink any water! You must drink water, if you're taking this medication. The HCTZ stands for Hydrochlorothiazide, which is a diuretic, is helps reduce blood pressure, along with the Losartan, by removing excess fluid from the body. It sounds like you may be getting dehydrated, because it's removing more than you're taking in each day. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and increase urination. Is there anything else I can help with?

(Diet) would it be safe to take losartan and liposzen i am taking 1/2 of 24 mg of losartan. ## Hi wanda, From what I could gather, there aren't any drug interactions to be found between Losartan and Lipozene (I'm assuming you meant to say?). However this is because Lipozene (Amorphophallus konjac) is an OTC dietary supplement; a category that isn't generally accounted for when it comes to reputable information on potential interactions with pharmaceutical drugs. For that reason I'd encourage you to contact your doctor first and foremost before taking anything that he/she hasn't prescribed or recommended. In many cases these types of situations turn out to be fine and it's just a matter of getting your Dr's. approval to ensure safety. I hope this helps!

What medication is comparable to losartan hctz 100 25 mg at a much cheaper price? ## Hello, Rusty! How are you? You might want to ask your pharmacy if the price is any better if they are prescribed separately, rather than as one medication. You could also ask them the prices on others, such as the generic for Benicar HCT. This mediation is listed by the FDA as being most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dehydration, increased urination and hypotension. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? They may know what else is cheaper in your area.

Is it okay to take Losartan100 mg, and 50mg Atenolol? What time of day should each be taken? I also take requip. Is there any interaction with Losartin or Atenolol? ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? If your doctor has prescribed both the Atenolol and Losartan for you and are monitoring you, it should be fine. Multiple blood pressure/cardiac medications are often prescribe, if someone has high blood pressure that may put them in danger, or to get better control of a cardiac condition. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and increased urination. And I didn't find any interactions listed between them, but its always best to double check such information to be certain. Requip is listed as being most commonly used to treat the sym...

Is it possible that my new green 100 mg Losartan makes me feel differently than the white 100 mg? Can the pill change whenever the generic manufacturer changes? Can I get my pharmacy to get me the white pills? ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? Yes, there can be slight fluctuations from one generic to another, so one may affect you differently and make you feel slightly different than another. As to changing with your pharmacy, that is entirely up to them and whether or not they can get the others in for you. Do you happen to remember who the manufacturer was? This medication is an ARB that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain. Actually, both of those numbers are too high, normal would be considered around 120/80. This medication is used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Side affects. Of losartan-hctz 100-25 mg tab metoprolol. Tartrate 5pmg and adipex. 37.5 mg ## Hello, Anna! How are you? If you're taking it for high blood pressure, you might not be able to take Adipex, because it is a stimulant that can cause elevated blood pressure and heart rate, which may put you in danger. It can also cause other side effects, such as nervousness, insomnia, dizziness, headache, irritability and carries the risk of being habit forming. There are no interactions or problems listed between these two medications, that I can find, but I strongly urge you to check with your doctor, before taking the Adipex to make sure that it is safe for you to do so. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on 50 mg Losartan for 6 months and just don't feel that great. I got my BP taken at the doctor today and it was 150/64. I asked about changing to Atacand ,and she put me on 16 mg, starting tomorrow. I'm to go back to get my BP taken in 2 weeks. Is 16 mg a good dosage to start with? Will Atacand be better than Losartan? Should I worry about side effects, and if so, what is most common? I got the impression the doctor was indulging me..she certainly didn't agree the Losartan could be causing my foot and ankle pains. ## Hello, CJ! How are you? Oh yes, it certainly could have been causing those pains. Some people do experience that with some of these cardiac medications. Atacand contains the active ingredient Candesartan, so it is also an ARB. Generally, 8mgs of it e...

I take losartan hct. 100/12.5 got hip pain and rib pain on left side and iron level of 265 and cannot get any answers iam in pain most of the time what can I do? ## Hello, Joyce! How are you? I am so sorry that you're in pain. Yes, it can cause the pain like that, especially if the Hydrochlorothiazide in it is causing you to get dehydrated, because it is a diuretic that removes excess fluid from the body. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, stomach pain, and hypotension. As to your iron level, many blood pressure drugs can affect those results, so it might not be accurate. Are you feeling fatigued regularly? Extremely tired? ## Yes ## You might be dehydrated, due to the diuretic in this. How much liquids do you take in each day, not inclu...

NOW HAVING DIZZINESS,NAUSEA, TIGHTNESS IN CHEST HEARTBURN AND SOME TINGLING DOWN ARM. ## Hi Zoiee, Based on my research, the following symptoms are listed as side effects of Losartan: Dizziness Heartburn Decreased sensitivity to touch Chest pain Chest pain however, is regarded as a serious side effect that should be reported to your doctor immediately. Ref: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a695008.html#side-effects It could just be that when you switched brands/manufacturers, the inactive ingredients triggered a different reaction within your system, perhaps increasing the risk of potential side effects. I use to take Divan for B/P and my pressure was in the 125 range but this med. went sky rocking in price, so he change me to this med. losartan which is more cheaper, but my B/P went up to 135-140 range, is this good??? should I be concern? an other question my iron has awlway been on the low side the last results was 77 I don't understand this numbers, they use be like 12-14, thanks for any help. Michael ## Hello, Michael! How are you? What is your diastolic, aka the lower number? For the top the 135 to 140 aren't dangerous numbers, just slightly elevated and it's normal for most people to hit them occasionally. Generally, most doctor's don't worry about that range. It could even be due to a slight rebound effect from switching medications. Losartan is an ARB and it...

Blood pressure 90/60 since June. Been on Losartin for 15 years. This year had knee replacement surgery for painful knee; pain for last 6 years. Now no pain and no stress full job, so dr. thinks my blood pressure has dropped because no more pain or stress; he lowered it to 50 mg from 100 mg. Still 60/90. Lowered it to 25.mg and still 60/90. Am eating more potassium every meal, weight is 160 at 5'5" age 65. Do you think no stress and no pain means no high blood pressure? Can I possibly go off of it? ## Hello, Susan! How are you doing? Yes, it is possible that your blood pressure elevationg was just due to the pain and stress, both are known to cause it to go up. However, please don't go off of it, without your doctor's approval and supervision. Suddenly stopping it could c...
