Losartin 25mg

Blood pressure 90/60 since June. Been on Losartin for 15 years. This year had knee replacement surgery for painful knee; pain for last 6 years. Now no pain and no stress full job, so dr. thinks my blood pressure has dropped because no more pain or stress; he lowered it to 50 mg from 100 mg. Still 60/90. Lowered it to 25.mg and still 60/90. Am eating more potassium every meal, weight is 160 at 5'5" age 65. Do you think no stress and no pain means no high blood pressure? Can I possibly go off of it?

Yes, it is possible that your blood pressure elevationg was just due to the pain and stress, both are known to cause it to go up.

However, please don't go off of it, without your doctor's approval and supervision. Suddenly stopping it could cause a rebound effect that may cause severely elevated blood pressure and could put you in danger of a heart attack, stroke, or heart failure.
