I'm a 38 yr old black female and I recently decided to start a family. I was taking losartan 100mg daily, clonidine HCL 0.2mg twice daily, and hctz 25mg daily to control my blood pressure. My doctor has taken me off of the losartan and I'm concerned about my blood pressure spiking since I've stopped. ## Hello, Maria! How are you? Are you still taking the other medications? If so, then it isn't likely a dangerous spike will occur, though you may still experience a slight elevation. How often do you check your blood pressure? What have your recent readings been? The FDA lists the typical side effects of these medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.

No, that is not a reported side effect of Losartan among those listed by the FDA, or other users. I take it myself and have never experienced such an issue. can I take amox/k clav 500 mg with losartan pot 50mg? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these medications, though it's always best to double check to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. It would actually be far more dangerous to let an infection continue out of control. Is there anything else I can help with?

My blood pressure has been running low the past days. Today average is 107/70. Will I still take the losartan? I also am being treated for anxiety. I took last night 8pm .125mg of CLONAZEPAM (1/4 pill). That's probably worn out by today 6pm. Please help me decide. I'm scared that if I don't take losartan my BP might rise. ## Hello, Techi! How are you? Those aren't dangerously low numbers and you should still take your medication as prescribed by your doctor. can losartan 100mg be cut in half ?? I was taking 50 mg then I was put on 100mg now back to 50mg I have some 100mg left can I cut this pill in half ?? ## Hello, Ann! How are you? Yes, since it's not time released, it is safe to cut them and use up your remaining supply. My doctor actually prescribes them that way, because it's cheaper for me to buy 15 tablets of the higher dose and just take half a tab. The FDA classifies this medication as an ACE inhibitor and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. Yes, if you try to stop both abruptly, at the same time, rather than tapering, it can cause a dangerous spike in both blood pressure and heart rate. I have been on losartan 100mg 25mg HTCZ (LUP) for over 2 years. Recently pharmacy filled using a different manufacturer (NOR) and WOW!!! Once it was in my system I awoke in the middle of the night with dizziness to the point of waking me up. Thinking it was an inner ear issue I continued taking for almost a month. Dizziness and lightheadness continued but not as bad as the first night. (Several times during the day) I felt like I was walking around in a fog and almost felt like it was poisoning me. Went to the Dr. And back to the pharmacy to make sure I was put back on the drug I had been on for 2 years with little problems. I'm not one to complain only trying to help someone else before they spend a month trying to figure out what's going on. ## Wow, Cindy! I am so very sorry a...

My MD recently lowered my atenolol to 25 mg daily and losartan 25 mg daily, but added Lipitor 1 hs. due to my dizziness and lightheadness. pressure seems fine, but still feeling dizzy, can I take both all 3 at bedtime ## Why was the Lipitor added? The FDA classifies it as a statin medication that is used to lower cholesterol. It is very well known to cause side effects, such as dizziness, nausea, headache and joint/muscle aches, so it's very doubtful that it will improve anything. Generally, it is best to take the blood pressure medications, Lisinopril and Losartan in the morning, so they can help control your blood pressure during the times of day you'll be most active. The Lipitor, however, can be taken any time, unless your doctor specifies otherwise. ## sorry my question was...

I just started taking Losartan 50 mg. 3 days ago. I take arthritic meds. for gout so I asked the pharmacy if it would be ok to take this at 7 every evening. Now I am hearing that it should be taken of a morning. I take thyroid medicine first thing in the morning and then mid morning take the arthritis meds. Will it be effective taking the Losartan in the evenings ? ## Hello, Alice! How are you? When did you doctor instruct you to take it? Blood pressure medications are usually meant to be taken in the morning, so they can help control your blood pressure during the times of day when you will be most active and experience the most fluctuations. Taking it at night could cause it to go too low, since it naturally lowers at night, when you're at rest. The typical side effects of this me...
