I started with 100 mg twice per day of labetalol HCl. I immediately became so dry that I couldn't talk without a bottle of water. My doctor cut dosage in half and added Benicar to the cocktail. I had an allergic reaction to benicar. It was replaced with 40 mgs. of lisinapril. Not strong enough. Need any suggestions. ## Hello, Belle! How are you? The dry mouth from the Labetalol will usually wear off after a month or so, once your body gets used to the medication. It annoyed me, at first, too. However, having been on it for awhile now, it is no longer a problem, at all. So, if it was helping your blood pressure, then you might want to go back to a higher dose of it and just wait it out for awhile. I want to know if it would be ok to take atenolol in place of the labetalol I've been taking, but ran out of? ## Hi Kerri, Both Atenolol and Labetalol are in the same drug class called Beta-blockers which are marketed for use in treating high blood pressure. ## found 2 white round pills say watson-606,,,some-one told me they were pain pillls,,,??/dont no--what are they thank you ## Watson lists this tablet as containing 200mgs of Labetalol, which is used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. I can add extra confirmation to this, because I just took one less than hour ago, as prescribed, for my blood pressure and cardiac condition. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. It is not used to treat pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

Has anyone experienced itching all over plus itchy bumps on scalp. I weaned myself off of it awhile back and the itching and bumps pretty much went away but my blood pressure went up so dr put me back on it. (He was not happy that I stopped taking it) has anyone else experienced these symptoms. Labatatol is the only new drug I started taking when I first started itching & bumps. Is Labetalol HCL compatible with Prednisone 10 mg + Chlorthalidone 10 mgm + Duloxetine 60 mgm + Amlodipine? My husband has been taking these drugs and has begun to hallucinate! ## Hello, Joanie! How is your husband doing? Has there been any change? It is difficult to say what might be cause it, it could be due to one of these medications, or it may be unrelated. According to NIH reports, hallucinations can occur for many different reasons. Has his doctor been consulted? Having this checked out would be the best way to get to the root of the problem. ## My husband is doing slightly better...thanks for asking! I cut back on the Labetalol and at the doctor's suggestion, stopped his Duloxetine for three days. We will see if this stops the hallucinations ans the night restlessness.

What do the pill do I have pain in my hip and my friend gave me the yellow pill with teva on front and 4344 on back ## Hello, King! How are you? The only tablet that Teva lists as being close to this is a yellow tablet with TEVA on one side and the numbers 4364 on the other, above a score line. They list it as containing 100mgs of Labetalol, which is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure. What is a white round pill labeled watson 606 ## Hello, Jesse! How are you? Watson lists this tablet as containing 200mgs of Labetalol and I can actually verify that, since I have a bottle right here and take 3 a day. LOL It is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and, as listed by the FDA, its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, increased urination and hypotension. It was prescribed for me, because I am very sensitive to many medications and this one is known to be very effective, without causing as many side effects. Is there anything else I can help with?

My husband takes this pill and he is a diabetic with kidney disease. This medicine has his legs and feet feeling cold all the time and he is in pain. What can he do to prevent this or help with the coldness? Also, is there another high blood pressure medication that he can take that will not cause these side effects and is safe to take with his diabetic medicine and wont cause a lot of harm to his kidneys? ## Hello, Jackie! How are you? What other medications does he take? I'm not saying that the Labetalol doesn't cause this, because it can, but it is very unusual. It's actually known to usually cause fewer side effects than most similar drugs. Has he consulted his doctor?

Hi, I am pregnant and on blood pressure medication to regulate my high blood pressure. I recently heard that since I'm pregnant and on blood pressure medication I should also be on blood thinners to prevent a blood clot. Is this true? ## I have never heard of such a thing, as a matter of fact, from what I've read in pregnancy information, most women are just on a blood pressure medication, such as Labetalol and nothing else. Many of them have blood thinning properties of their own, so another blood thinner is rarely necessary, unless there is some other underlying condition, such as a clotting disorder, prior stroke, or etc. What has your doctor advised?

im taking apo atennol 50mg beta blocker but stil thesame my bp 160/90,but i can't use otheres brand bcoz im getting palpitation,my cholesterol is 191 my LDL,im not taking treatment for cholesterol bcoz its to expensive ## What about trying something other than a beta blocker? There are other types of blood pressure medications on the market. I had similar type issues with the regular, straight beta blockers and the palpitations could just be due to your blood pressure being so high. You might want to check and see if Labetalol is available up there, it really helped me a lot when I had problems with the other medications and it stopped the palpitations for me, as well. Has any one else had similar concerns please? ## The U.S. FDA classifies it as pregnancy category c, which means animals studies have failed to show it as being teratogenic. Although, there has been some data that shows it may be associated with birth defects, but since studies have not been done, there is not certain proof. It is, however, generally considered the safest choice for a pregnant woman that needs to control her blood pressure. What have the doctors said about it?

I got a new blood pressure medication today. The pharmacy did not put child proof caps on my medicine like I have requested the last 6 years. Well, half of my Labetalol 100 mg spilled on the floor. All are accounted for except for one. I looked everywhere but could not find it. If my 10 yr old 16 pound minischnauzer finds and eats it, will it kill or harm her? what numbers would you find on a prescription bottle for labetalol identifying it as that drug. ## what numbers would you find on a prescription bottle of lamitcal? ## What numbers are you referring to? Did you mean the NDC (National Drug Code) numbers? If so, then I would need the relevant dosage. As to other numbers on the bottle, such as the RX number, those are internal to the pharmacy and only relevant to their computer systems.
