Some severe cases that are difficult to control or may require a dose increment of 1 capsule three times a day. Side effects are rare, but may include: abdominal pain, pruritus, rash, regurgitation and dysphagia. I hope this helps!! ## Just took alevian duo but still having direau .Should I take another pill? ## Hello I was wondering I have a stom...
Spasmo proxyvon is a medically proved drug. Is there a substitute available? ## Spasmo-Proxyvon contains the active ingredient dicycloverine hydrochloride (also known as dicyclomine). Dicyclomine is used to treat the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, and is in a class of medications called anticholinergics. It is supposed to relieve muscle spasms in the gastrointestinal tract by blocking the activity of a certain natural substance in the body. As far as finding a substitute goes, it would probably be best to look for something within the same drug class of anticholinergics. This way you can at least be sure that the medication is working in a similar fashion. However not all anticholinergics are created equally, so I would always recommend talking with your doctor first about the mo...

I am taking 20 mg and I was wondering if this medication can cause a false positive for benzos? I just took a drug screen yesterday and it read positive for benzos, but I don't take them. ## Hey let me tell you the exact same thing just happened to me today at my suboxone doctors office. I was racking my brain trying to figure out why benzodiazepines showed up in my drug screen because I hadn't taken anything but immodium ad and bentyl other than my suboxone. But my doctor said it could have been the immodium (loperamide) but I completely forgot to tell him I took the bentyl also until I had already left his office. I Hope this helps someone else ?? ## Yes, Bentyl has been known to cause false positives according to NIH report logs. While some doctors aren't willing to do so...
prescribed to treat Irritated Bowel Syndrome ## HAVING IRRABILITY,DEPRESSION,STOMACH CRAMPS, DIZZINESS ## I have been having upper right quadrant pain daily times at least 1 month maybe even a little longer And I was diagnosed with gallbladder sludge in 09/2010, but was not treated for it at that time, because I had other major health problems that needed urgent treatment. They discovered a massive blood clot in my abdomen & also in my right thigh) which was treated for with a major clot busting drug two times and was in the hospital for at least a week, maybe a little longer. But now I'm having pain if I eat or if I don't eat. Can Dicyclomine 20mg (Watson 795) be used as a muscle relaxer for back pain? What are the side effects? ## No, Dicyclomine works specifically on smooth muscles, which are those that you have little control over, that work on their own in response to various stimuli in your body. These are the types of muscle found in your bladder, intestines, blood vessels and etc. Side effects may include: nausea, dry mouth and delirium. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I pulled my intercostal muscle and my doctor prescribed it for that pain and it worked beautiful and the muscle is finally healing!! I was hurting for months and thought it was my liver!
I am on day 3 OF NITROFURAN MONOHYD MACRO 100MG 100 mg for urinary track infection every 12hrs, I have problems with my stomach and have been prescribed DICYCLOMINE 10MG/5ML. (1/2 hr before meals) Is safe to take while taking NUTRIFURAN? ## Hi Virnia, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions listed between Nitrofurantoin and Dicyclomine. So just going off that information alone, I don't think there should be any problems using the two together (outside of each medication's own general side effects). However, if you still have any reservations about taking them, it may be best to call your doctor up and verify that it's ok with him as well. Was it the same doctor who prescribed you the Nitrofurantoin, that also give you the script for Dicyclomine? ## Does macrobid...
The pharmacy pamphlet says not to break or crush but I'm wondering if I can split my 20 MG Dicyclomine tablets in half to see what effects the med will have on me before taking a whole 20 MG tablet. I have read on forums that people do split them all the time but I would feel better hearing the answer from a professional. So is it okay ti split a 20 MG dicyclomine tablet in half? ## If the instructions for the ones you have say not to break, or crush them, then you should not do so. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I didn't realize anything said you weren't supposed to break them. Obviously that wouldn't work with capsules lol, ...
How long after taking your first pill can you have a reaction to it? I have taken one over 3 hours ago and felt like it was a bit hard to breath for the first couple hours and feel weird in the head now 3 1/2 hours later. My face is also getting red. ## Bentyl is known for those type of reactions. I would say that sometimes the effects may last for a while but after your body get's use to the pill over the course of a couple of weeks even a month the feelings will wane. I think for some people we will always have that mild feeling of taking something but if the get to much to bear after a few weeks talk to your doctor about changes your medication. I had to learn the hard way...lol. ## Gina, you've been given great advice from Alani. I'd also like to add a warning about a po...
How long does it take for Bentyl to leave the bloodstream, if you have only been taking it for a short time? ## According to NIH.gov, Bentyl's primary route of excretion is through the urine (reportedly 79.5% of the dose). RE: Blood - They go on to mention that the average plasma elimination half life of Bentyl in one of their [9 hour long] studies was shown to be approx. 1.8 hours. Further noting that, "in subsequent studies, the plasma concentrations were followed for [up to 24 hours] after a single dose, showing a secondary phase of elimination with a somewhat longer half-life." Source: dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/archives/49910 To my understanding (and please correct me if I'm wrong), the duration of time in which you've taken Bentyl shouldn't alter the dru...

Read more here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I have insomnia and have been attempting to break my dependence on benzodiazapines. I began taking bentyl 2 weeks ago for ibs. After 2 days I noticed that I haven't had any appetite and I still don't. My appetite was normal until beginning this medication. My pharmacist suggested I stop taking the medication, wait a couple of days to see how my appetite was and then call my doctor with my findings. I just got around to calling him yesterday. I did not tell him I had completely stopped because I thought he would just switch medicines. He told me to cut down to two pills a day and see how that does. How do others deal with a lack of appetite from medication? After Christmas I will let my doctor know I am not taking the medicine and my appetite still hasn't returned. I hate having to force myself to eat when I already feel full. Thank you! ## Hello, Lisa! How ...
Wondering if anyone else had a weird psychiatric reaction to Bentyl? Confusion, delusions and unbelievable fatigue. ## Hello, Sal! How are you doing? How much were you taking? Those types of reactions have been known to occur, but usually only with high doses. How long were you taking it? Are you on any other medications? ## Yes, Yes, and Yes. I was on this forum a few weeks ago and I literally thought I was losing it. But yes Bentyl can and for me did have those adverse effects especially the extreme fatigue. I felt like I was two people looking at myself from the outside. Those should pass after a few weeks of taking the pill, but I do think that some of the effects will be mild but still linger even after the adjustment period. The key is knowing why you feel that way. So nothing is ...

I have been addicted to spasmo proxyvon for the last 2 years. Though in the beginning i enjoyed it but slowly i became addicted to it. At present i am taking 10 to 12 capsules every day. I tried to leave it but could not do so because of the withdrawal symptoms like muscular pain, depression, laziness, and loss of concentration in work etc. Please tell me some way to deal with it. I want to leave it since it is eating up my body. Please help ## Have you consulted a doctor for assistance? Spasmo-Proxyvon contains the active ingredients Dicyclomine, Acetaminophen and Propoxyphene. The medicine cost 200.00 dollars why doesn't someone let Medicare know this medicine is needed for a lot of seniors. Please help me. Can you send me the name of the manufacture of this pill. ## It isn't Medicare who won't pay for it, United Health which is your Medicare Prescription Part D Drug Plan is the one who won't pay for it. You need to appeal their decision to not pay for it. ## This is LIBRAX (chlordiaxepoxide HCL and clinidium bromide; the BDP is Librium, a mild tranquilizer and the other is an antispasmodic, anticholinergic.) these are cheap drugs. I remember about 10 years ago order 12 x 100 on a generic manufacturers brand for my Dad It was cheaper than his $5.00 copays! What is this? It's a large flat grayish tablet ## Hi Lillie, Just had a few questions pertaining to your pill description: Is the RP and 115 on the same side of the tablet? What shape is the tablet? Any possibility that the "R" could be an "A", based on the font or pill condition? The closest match I've seen here is a white oblong shaped pill with AP on one side and 115 on the back. This particular tablet reportedly contains 0.375 mg of Hyoscyamine sulfate ER; used for treating various digestive problems, including IBS. For verification, the manufacturer who makes this is called Franklin Pharma and the pill itself carries a National Drug Code of 50532-0115. I hope this helps! ## We just found the same tablet, it was large and whitish, with RP 115 on the same side...
I am dealing with tinnitus and I have anxiety issues. My Dr prescribed dicyclomine. Is this going to help, because everything I am reading says this is for IBS? ## Hello, Glenn! How are you? You are correct, that is an odd medication to treat such issues, because it works by causing the smooth muscles of your stomach and intestines to relax according to FDA reports, thus it isn't likely to help with either condition that you are experiencing. Is this the only medication he prescribed? Did you ask him about why he prescribed it? ## I take bentyl.. works good for IBS. But tinnitus?? Nah! Hey Glenn.. Do you have a sister???
