What are my options. I completed 6 mo of tx with Incivek. I was undetectable at 1 mo, 3 mo and post tx. at 6 mo post tx blood test showed I had relapsed. This was my 3rd tx. I relapsed from peg tx as soon as I stopped. That was in 2001. I have been crushed by this news, but I am not willing to give up on a cure. What are my options? ## Have they tried you on any combinations of the drugs yet, or just on single drug preparations? Learn more Hep C details here. I was on Incivik, Pegysis and Riboviran for 9 weeks, unfortunately my dr. took me off as I have a gene that resists the antivirus..and I failed this treatment. However, I was fine for the 9 weeks, I am only 134 lbs and gained only about 1 lb. through the 9 weeks even eating all that fat 3 x a day. But the dr. said I was strong willed that is why I did not get real bad side affects like fatique and itchy skin and a light rash. When the dr. took me off the drugs I got withdrawel affects so bad, tight legs, swollen legs, fast breathing, bad rash under my skin on legs, headache, pulling muscles, muscle aches, restless legs, insomia,dry and itchy scalp and hair loss it was terrible. Is anyone out there that had any problems like this ???? It would be nice to know I am not alone...but don'...

I'm supposed to be starting treatment with incivek but insurance wouldn't approve it, but did approve victrelis! Once cured with full treatment are you cured for life?? ## It's actually difficult to say, Hepatitis C can be cured in 50 to 80% of the people that have it, but the others usually have a chronic infection that lingers in their livers. Has your doctor given you any idea of your possible prognosis?

if im An Athelete that Loves To Run And Workout I Gets Hep C Does Heart Rate Blood Flow and Excercise Effect The Disease Like if this i woork out and works cardio. would the disease worsen faster. ## It's actually quite the opposite, I don't believe you'll find a doctor anywhere that's going to tell you to sit down and not exercise for fear of making it worse. Exercise is vital to staying healthy, even when you have such a disease. There are even some people who manage to keep it in control for years solely with a good healthy diet and proper exercise. i am 31 years old. i had jaundice in 2010 and it got cured after 3-4 months. but my billirubin levels hovers around 1 to 1.4 most of the times. my apetite is perfect but i feel lethargy, muscle pain, mild fever, heaviness in head and my eyes also looks little yellow. these days i was taking Liv-52 tablets but to no effect. my doctor says the it is happening bcoz i had jaundice and not to worry. Bilirubin, Total 1.12 mg/dL SGPT level is 30.00 U/L SGOT level is 44.00 U/L TLC Level 5.50 thou/mm3 HEPATITIS B SURFACE level - 0.00 IU/ml

i currently have no insurance because im full time student but once i do get insurance how difficult is it to get the medication and has anyone received it for free like the company claims to do if u qualify? ## Getting insurance to pay isn't that hard, if you have a good Dr., they will go to bat for you with insurance company.Obviously it's quite expensive and even after insurance pays their part, there's still a pretty big co-pay, mine was over $600 per month per Rx. How large are the capsules? I cannot swallow large pills or capsules. Thank you ## The size of these capsules actually appear to be smaller than the average size. They are also noted to be "hard capsules", which may correlate to how dense the shell is. i am stage 3 geno 1 and just starting treatment want to lnow what others have expeirenced ## I am stage 1 geno 3 and am on my 3rd week of treatment. So far, the first day, I had chills and fever.. My depression has worsened, and I do not have an appitite. Food I used to love I can't stand, so my tastes have changed, My skin seems to get very red and is more sensitive than normal, but physically I feel better than ever.. i am on treatment for 48 weeks, wascundetectable at week 5, am now finishing week 25. question is, is stopping treatment early(been on treatment 20 weeks virus free already)ever done for this reason? ## Have you asked your doctor? That would really be the best person to advise you in this situation. No one online knows your entire medical history and what the proper treatment plan for you is and what may or not be safe.

I am to start Incivek with Peginterferon and Ribovarin. What are the most common side effects? ## I have been on this treatment for 3 weeks now. I was very tired the first week and felt nausea frequently. Then came a bout with hemorrhoids. The Nausea is subsiding on it's own. Changes in diet like not using cheese and peanut butter for the 20 grams of fat you're supposed to ingest with incivek has helped. I'm noticing more hair left in my brush when I brush it so I'm taking it easy on that. Trying to use a wide toothed comb and just tie my hair back. May end up cutting it. That's about it though. I work 50 plus hours a week, run or hike regularly, and play in 2 bands with shows every weekend and as long as I hydrate, eat when I know I should even if I don't feel l...

I was on telaprevir, on week 5.5 I had to stop the telaprevir. Rash started behind knees and elbows, then took over whole body. Nothing helped. I asked for pred, but they wouldn't prescribe while on triple tx. Stayed on the other 2 meds for 2 more weeks, then swelling of face, legs, arms, chest started. Hurt to walk, and couldn't wear shoes and regular pants because that is how swollen I was. Gained 23 pounds in a week. Nothing helped. Creams were suggested, zyrtec (haha), hydroxyzine (no help). The day before Thanksgiving doctor finally sent me to rheumatologist after running echo, another series of blood tests, etc. The rheumatologist finally prescribed prednisone. Thanksgiving, swelling in face went down enough so I could open my eyes. A month later still suffering with bouts...

Hello planning on taking my 1st PegInt shot thursday eve I am a non responder but only had very mild side symptoms last time. I'm retired and chose Thursday a good pre-weekend shot day My question is If I inject Thursday night should I start the Incivek and Riba on Thursday (or Fri) Morning?. Since I also take as many as 6 other meds in morning and 4 more around dinner time Does it seem like a good plan to offset the TX drugs from my regulars by about an hour? are there any dyes in these medications? I am allergic to certain dyes. ## Do you have any more information on them, such as the dosage and who the manufacturer is? That is what would enable me to check for you. Medications can be manufactured by several different companies, at any given time, and the inactive ingredients can vary from one company to another.

severe anorectal pain despite stool softeners, steroid/xylocaine suppositories, procardia rectal gel to avoid spasms, and sitz baths. It is now 6/10 but was up to 9/10 and unbearable. Only 1.5 weeks of therapy and pure torture. Other suggestions? ## Hi Punky, just curious-- have you been able to eat the 20 grams of fat with each dose? What foods do you eat to get your 20 grams? With your medical condition and the medication, they are really the only person qualified to provide you with advice on this matter. The rectal problems are common side effects of using Telaprevir.

I have had a bad skin reaction to the treatment. My skin is dry, itchy, scaly and sore. Can anybody suggest anything to help calm and reduce my reaction? Any suggestions would be appreciated. ## Since you do have a serious medical condition and are undergoing this treatment, you should check with your doctor to see what might be safe for you to use. There are certain medications, or topical applications that may help, but most are processed through the liver, so they could potentially cause you problems. Have you talked to your doctor about it?

Is anyone dealing w/ the diarrhea discomfort w/ Telaprevir? ## Telaprevir is an antiviral medication that is commonly used to treat hepatitis c. Have you contacted your doctor? Diarrhea can be a normal side effect of these medications and there may be something you can use to help, however, you should check with your doctor or pharmacist first, to be safe.

19 year old male, with Hepatitis A and resultant acute itching for almost 10 days, now put on Omnacortil 40mg.....want some advice ## i am suffer tuberculosis last 1 month.and left side of lung cavity fill in some fluid approx 500 to 700 ml .doctor 1st time to give omnacorti-10mg but no down fluid.so he increase the dose of omnacortil-40 mg.is this treatmen true?to give right suggestion of my diseases plz

i am suffering from hepatitis a which is drug infused, i have been taking ursocol 300 from last 11 days but from last 2 days after having the ursocol 300 i am having short of breath what should i do? ## Ursocol contains the active ingredient Ursodeoxycholic Acid. That sounds like it can be a side effect from the medication. Have you discussed this with your doctor yet? He/She should be one of the first people to know about this. Aside from speaking with your doctor, would you say that your diet is sufficient in vitamins and minerals? This could also be caused from lack of certain nutrients.
