14 REPLIES Updated in Calcium CarbonateI cannot take narcotic pain meds, as I get very sick in the stomach. I have a wound vac and have gotten it replaced. It's very painful without pain medications. What are the best pain meds that aren't narcotics? ## Hello, sorry to hear this. Many people get an upset stomach. If you have not tried it yet take a narcotic pain med and try having a meal, then wait 15-20 mins and take a dose. Then after 10-15 mins eat a piece of dry toast. This method has worked with a lot of people. The problem is there really are not any none narcotic pain meds that work well on moderate to moderately severe pain. And if there was one, the major pharma companies would buy it and not let it out... lol. ## Zandy, how are you doing? I'm sorry that you're suffering. Have you tried making sure t...
2 REPLIES UpdatedMy eating habits consist of smaller food portions which lead to more frequent bathroom trips. My first bowel movement usually occurs quickly within a span of 5 to 10 minutes, similar to most individuals. However, I often feel the pressure for a second stool to come out shortly thereafter. This sequence repeats around 3-4 times during my initial bathroom break, consuming a total of 30 to 40 minutes. I typically visit the bathroom twice in the morning and once in the evening. My fibroscan report showed normal results, but my vitamin B12 and vitamin D levels are significantly low. As a remedy, I've been taking a 1500 mcg dose of methylcobalamin twice a day. I also drink a glass of buttermilk each morning. Can anyone else relate? What are some effective remedies for indigestion? ## Hi. ...

4 REPLIES Updated in LidocaineIs there a generic: any different from Prilosec, what does it do? ## Omeprazole is the generic for Prilosec and it's sold over the counter, no doctor needed. It is a proton pump inhibitor that blocks gastric acid secretions--acid reflux or GERD. ## Some insurances will cover it though so you should always have the doctor write the scripts for any over the counter medications and the pharmacy will try to put it thru your insurance. Mine covers omeprazole. my Zyrtec . Ibuprofen so if you dont try every med how will you know right ## You can learn more about Prilosec here. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, stomach pain, gas, and headache.

A square white pill with CC 61 is reportedly a Famotidine 40mg tablet with a National Drug Code of 65862-0860 A square yellow pill with CC 60 is reportedly a Famotidine 20mg tablet with a National Drug Code of 65862-0859 I don't know what color your pill is, but I'm under the impression that it may be a 10mg Famotidine tablet. If you're able to, I'd consider taking it into a local pharmacy just to double check for that possibility. For verification, the pills mentioned above are manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma. Famotidine i...

7 REPLIES Updated in OmeprazoleHas anyone had any problem with face swelling with this drug? ## My husband has been taking prilosec for years and he always wakes up with a swollen face. I thought it was because he does not get enough sleep at night or any other time. Does your swelling go away after you have been up for awhile or does it continue into the afternoon? ## If you are experiencing unexplained facial swelling, then it is very important to consult your doctor, as that could be the sign of an allergic reaction to the medication, or something else in your environment. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Prilosec as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, gas, and constipation. Ref: Prilosec Information Are you taking any other medications?
2 REPLIES Updated in Prilosec OTCMy doctor changed my Nexium prescription from 40 mg to 20 mg. Can I separate the pills I have in half so I don't waste what I have? ## No, you can't safely split a capsule, because there is no way to ensure that you are evenly splitting the amount of the medication that is inside them. Learn more Nexium details here. Why did your doctor lower the dosage? Unless there was some reason for doing so, there is likely little harm in finishing up what you have of the higher one and then moving to the lower dosage, since this is just a proton pump inhibitor that reduces the amount of acid your stomach produces. ## I just tried Nexium 24 (20 mg pills), and it worked great at stopping my heartburn, which I get every day and sometimes multiple times/day, but, it gave me bad cramps and diar...

8 REPLIES Updated in Calcium CarbonateWhat goes into it? It's a green liquid, nasty taste, compounded from a pharmacy. ## What are the green lizard ingredients for indigestion? ## Green lizard is a compound prescription. It is a mixture of Lidocaine, Maalox, and Donnatal. My doctor prescribed it for pain in my esophagus and stomach. Hope this helps! ## And can u get these ingredients over the counter for Green Lizard mix? ## When I got my latest prescription for green lizzard (which is my salvation) the pharmacist called to tell me that it was going to cost $750.00 because the price of the Donnatal had gone up. So I had them leave out the Donnatal and only mix the Malox and Lidocaine. It's obviously not as efficient. Does anyone have an idea for a substitute for the Donnatal? ## Common behind the scenes usage in E.R...
