The FDA has recently requested the STOP SALE of Reduce Weight Fruta Planta and issue a product recall.

In a recent test we discovered that the Fruta Planta pill contains a drug called Sibutramine. This drug is an appetite suppressant that is use in an obesity drug called Meridia. In October 2010, due to a six-year-long clinical study known as Sibutramine Cardiovascular Outcomes Trial (SCOUT) the obesity drug Meridia (sibutramine) was voluntary withdrawn from the market. Since Reduce Weigh Fruta Planta has been found to also contain the drug Sibutramine and its' label does not meet U.S. standards the FDA had determined that Reduce Weigh Fruta Planta should also be removed from the market.

According to the parameters of the recent clinical study of the drug Meridia conducted by Abbott Laboratories only subject that were at least 55 years of age and had preexisting cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes or both were included in the study and in this test group ONLY were there increased risk in nonfatal myocardial infarction and nonfatal stroke.

The FDA advises against taking ALL Formulas of Reduce Weigh Fruta Planta/Reduce Weight products. These products pose a threat to consumers because Sibutramine may substantially increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate in some patients and may present a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias or stroke.

PRock Marketing and www.frutaplanta.com recent learned of this new information and want our users to be advised. We are currently working to find a solution to this issue and will inform our clients as soon as we know more information. yes, I have been suffering from insomnia for 3 wks now, I was taking these pills for 2wks, and now I have to take the RX ambian to sleep until my body bounces back, I have been to the ER and to the doctors for this. DO NOT TAKE THIS, it's not worth having insomnia, you don't even feel like yourself.

I got FP in flushing New York, I don't know if this is the real one but I have dry mouth, I don't really feel hungry at all. And thirsty all the time, I can't sleep at night. And feel all up all day when I take it.
I will keep you posted guys....

I have read a lot of positive and negative things about FP. it really seems to me that everyone reacts different to them. Here is my experience:

I am 5'5" and started at 151 pounds, almost a size 8

I have been taking FP for about 7 weeks and have lost about 16 pounds!!! So I am now at 135 pounds

I have lost 1 full dress size and feeling great about that. I can wear size 6 clothes I had stored away for over 3 years!!! and even those are starting to feel a bit loose.

I got mine in Chinatown in NY and made sure they are the original. (with all the seals and stamps)
For the first week or so I had trouble sleeping and was very constipated, but I raised my fiber intake and got some natural digestive capsules, they helped a lot.
I also had really bad dry mouth, drinking water helped.
I have been taking them from monday to friday and have left the weekends out to let my system relax.
Sometimes I do feel a little bit of anxiety and heat flushes, but I have noticed that this happens only when I really don't eat enough or wait too long after taking the pill in the morning.

The side effects have gotten less now, but weight loss has slowed down a bit. This doesn't worry me much though because I am only about 8 pounds away from my minimum goal (127 pounds, size 4-5).
It is really great how they control my cravings, it used to be almost impossible for me to resist bread and other "bad" foods ;-)
They help me to feel satisfied faster, like before I would have 2 scoops of Ice cream, now I can't even finish one....before I couldn't stop eating peanut M&M's until the whole bag was gone, now I take a hand full and thats it, no going back for more.

At first my husband was all "oh yeah, suuuure you'll loose 25 pounds with some pill, keep dreaming sister" but after he saw the results so far, he asked me to buy more for him to start.... ;-)
He has not had side effects either, appart from dry mouth but they don't seem to help with his cravings as much and in a week he has only lost 2 pounds...
maybe he is a slow starter, he will continue for now.

However my sister in law started taking them and stopped because of a lot of the bad side effects.
insommnia, anxiety, headache, dizzyness.... she got the whole "bad trip", she got really scared.

I say, listen to your body and be aware of any extreme changes or discomfort. eat healthy and drink lots of water.

well I don't have the contact info for the shop, as it was a grocery store in Chinatown. I just went in and asked if she sells them... sorry :-(
the last ones I bought from a seller in Miami. The interior packaging looks a bit different, but they seem to be original. I just started the new package after a break from the first ones to jump start my weight loss again.
I plateaud after loosing 17 pounds in about 2 months and have been stable at 135 pounds for 2 weeks. Of course I watch what I eat, like no carbs after 6 pm etc. and keep the portions small. after 2 months of eating less you realize that you actually need very few food to feel full. a handful of plain almonds (not salted or sweetened) does wonders for afternoon munchies, together with lots of water.
but what really helped me loose the weight was the food I ate for dinner. no more carbs after 6 like I mentioned, I usually have a yoghurt (regular, NOT non-fat) and 1 to 2 fruits. I always make myself a pitcher of Tea (scented white tea or jasmine green tea are great because they taste good without sweetening) to sip along while relaxing on the couch. My friends and I were taking fruta planta for 2 months and we had no side effects what so ever that would cause us to have any discomfort or health issues . I guess it all depends on the person who is taking them, and how they are taking it. As long as you drink plenty of water and eat meals and snacks in between you will be fine. Now I have to agree with some of you, when you purchase the 2nd or third boxes it doesn't do the same job that the 1st box did. which did strike me odd but I assumed maybe its because I wasn't going to the gym.

I first bought mine from lafrutaplanta in November. They were great, I took it for a month and when the box finished I waited for the Christmas holidays to finish before buying a second box!
But then when I bought 3 boxes from them in January they didn't work at all. I don't get why. By "working" i mean i didnt have the dry mouth, and I still felt hunger!
I then bought twice from china but stopped taking each after 1 week with no effects. Now I bought them from monfrutaplanta and so far it seems to work.

I took this product for 3 wks, 3 wks I suffered from insomnia and other things, dry eyes, blurred vision, and extremly dry mouth, it's not worth the side effects to lose weight and being bad for you. Sure some people are claiming no side effects, good for them, but I think they should take that product off the shelves. Be Careful, your health is more important then losing weight.

omg dont buy from frutaplantastore.com they sell fake fruta planta pills and i returned their order and they stayed with my money plus they have a fake contact number on their website be careful everyone with this website

@Barbara, if you paid by credit card just call the # on the back of it and tell them that the product was not as described. You should be able to get your $$ back. If you paid by money order or western union then I'm sorry to say that you can't get money back that way. Hope this helps and good luck!

I am wondering if all this drama is coming from companies that want to eliminate this product from the market because it is so effective and inexpensive. I have been taking this pill for about a month now and I have lost 14 pounds. I work out four times a week and I went two sizes down. Side effects are dry mouth and lack of sleep which is no big deal since I drink plenty of water and I take tylenol pm to sleep. Best product ever and I am not associated with this product in any way. I am a college student and I pay 15 $ for the product.

I have to agree with you..I was reading through all the previous comments and noticed the negative side affects to FP but I have none other than the dry mouth. I drink plenty of water everyday so that is not a problem for me. My box is just like the box like the box that you purchased online. I am glad I read your post because Iwas seriuosly thinking about stopping it even though I am not experiencing any of the negative side affects. This is only my first week of taking it. I can't wait to see my ending results. Everyone please be sure that you are taking the orginal FP pills

I've lost 28 lbs in 18 weeks. So I'm doing it slowly. Joined the gym but don't always get to go. Got my pills from frutaplantapills.com. Dry mouth is not as bad anymore. I avoid caffeine, drink a lot of water + use Cepacol lozenges for the dry mouth and to avoid bad breath. Also use Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash made especially for dry mouth issues. I also stay away from sodas + hardly drink sugary drinks. Haven't taken fruta planta the entire 18 weeks. Occasionally stop for 3 days. Tested my urine and I didn't turn up positive for anything. Good luck everyone!
