Doctor In Pittsburgh Pa That Prescribes Xanax Or Klonopin (Page 4)

Every doc I've met with here in Pittsburgh Pa will only take cash if they prescribe you xanax.. Very unethical but since I have insurance I would like to find a doctor to prescribe me the meds I need. I would take either although I like the Klonopin better, xanax cause my depression to worsen after I take them... Anyone know of any Psychiatrists that will take my insurance and prescribe me meds?

Finding a Psych for Klonopin in Butler, Pa or Pittsburgh:

Hello, I just recently moved back to Pennsylvania about an hour north of Pittsburgh and I was seeing a good Psychiatrist where I came from for 8 years who had me on a high dose of Klonopin or clonazepam. I would simply like to find a Psychiatrist who will allow me to continue this treatment regimen as this is the only Psych medicine that really benefits me and doctors up here seem afraid to give me what I've been given for years. Thank you for reading this and if you happen to know someone that could help me please let me know. Maybe if I didn't have to work and had health insurance I'd consider getting off it but I don't have insurance and I need to be able to function plus it is outright dangerous to discontinue this medication.

Unethical? Maybe. Smart? Indeed and less of a headache and sure as heck more profitable. They are not obligated to take any type of insurance, especially Medicaid. It's their job and their choice how they take payment for their professional services.

With that said any doctor prescribing benzos for years upon years isn't providing professional services and should indeed be evaluated by the DEA. I say this because docs are quick to pull that prescription pad out before exploring or combining treatment options. I myself was prescribed 1mg Xanax 4 x day for about 9 yrs and if i could go back and say no to benzos i would have because withdrawal is miserable and possibly fatal. One of 2 withdrawals that can kill you. Benzos and alcohol are the only 2 withdrawals that can kill you. Others just feel like you're dying. I was miserable and I chose a supervised taper. OMG the brain fog along with feeling as if my brain was sitting in fire along with black dots and trails when blinking were terrible to deal with. And don't get me started on insomnia. And it took forever to pass. It does more damage than good in the end because benzos are meant to be TEMPORARY.

But anyway I find it sketchy when the DEA intervenes and the doctor can't provide needed documents on why said patients need said medications. Had said doctor done his/her job correctly it wouldn't be an issue and even i know this. The DEA should audit every practicing doctor yearly IMO. It would avoid a lot of unnecessary prescription drug addicts and chasers doctor hopping. I'm sorry but reading most of these comments reminds me of my days swearing i needed them for severe anxiety and panic attacks. LMAO. You need them because you're addicted. This site is full of people doctor shopping IMO.

And for pain management....A chiropractor can fix your pain but you'd rather have that oxy or fentanyl high.

Also if you are on any medication long term your family doctor should indeed help until you find another practice.

Life tip: never be dependent on drugs because nothing lasts forever.

Sorry you are having this problem and want to go about it the right way! When you mention high doses have you just stopped or run out? I'm not sure what drug we are talking about yet Xanax or any of the Benzos can be very dangerous if not discontinued properly, I found out about that 10 years ago, interesting few weeks including a Hospital stay to restore the Xanax, what a sad outcome although I was told I was near Death and I'm still here!

I am a formal patient of Cerul too... and he used to prescribe you 90 Xanax bars and 60 2 mg Klonopins for 250 cash.
