I have been taking triamterene/hctz for over 10 years. My doctor at the time put me on it for water retention. I recently had to switch doctors and she wouldn't refill it for me because she says it's not good for my health. Well the first day I was off the med, I started retaining a lot of water in my fingers legs feet. If I want to reduce the retention, I have to get off my feet and elevate them. I am so frustrated and unhappy and uncomfortable and am worried the retention is always going to be a problem. Anyone else have this happen and can help me with info what to do? I am thinking of going back to one of the doctors I had been going to knowing she will prescribe me some kind of diuretic ## Hello, Donna! How are you? Yes, letting retention continue like that can be very dang...

I have been taking Indapamide for 18 months in December 2017 I developed a tingling sensation on the tip of my tongue which got progressively worse, eventually affecting my whole mouth and lips. I went to the doctor twice but they could find nothing wrong. In mid January I read an article on line about burning mouth syndrome which said that a potential cause could be blood pressure medication, so in desperation I stopped taking Indapamide, within a day my symptoms started to improve and there days later have almost disappeared. Has anyone heard of Indapamide causing this problem. ## Yes I also have this sore burning tongue, but mostly on the one side of my tongue. I am soo frustrated I actually made an appointment with my mouth hygenist. I was thinking that it must be something wrong in...

My doctor switched me from Amlodipine to Indapamide 3 weeks ago because of a rash I developed which she believed was caused by the Amlodipine. Since starting on the Indapamide I have suffered regular bouts of nausea, I have pain in my joints, my insomnia (which I admit to suffering from before) is much worse and I feel anxious and depressed. I've got a follow up appointment with the doctor in 2 weeks so am wondering if I should stick it out until then. The problem is it seems that all of these drugs have nasty side effects so, if you keep changing, you just lurch from one set of problems to another. Feeling really fed up. ## All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, according to NIH reports, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and ...

What is the shelf life of Spironolactone 50mg? I have two unopened bottles dated 12/10/10. I was taken off in 2010, and put back on it recently. I would like to use them but fear poisoning. Is it safe to digest? ## Hello Lmdjones! How are you? This medication doesn't get dangerous, once past it's expiration date, but it does start to lose effectiveness and may not work as well as it did, when new. If they are in the original factory sealed bottle, they are generally good for 3 to 4 years, but once in a pharmacy dispensing bottle, where they have been exposed to the elements that cause degradation, they expire one year from the date of dispensing. If they are that old, it would most likely be best to just dispose of them and pick up a new supply. This medication is a potassium sp...

Good day. I have been taking Indapamide for 8 weeks now after my previous bp meds and water pill (Amiloretic) caused me severe heart fluttering and chest pains and a general feeling of "something being wrong with my heart". All of these "heart problems" subsided but now im left with unbearable pain in both my hips. I can hardly walk. This Indapamide is the only medication that has been changed. Could my hips be so painful because of it? It is really UNBEARABLE and no pain pills or muscle relaxants seem to help. I have taken Alkaline powder too, but with no effect. If anyone has any similar findings, please share with me. And just for the sake of interest. So many people are taking Prexium/Prexum/Pearindopril.
