I suffer from Meniere's disease. I took Triamterene for a week and both times when I took with Meclizine, I had either a vertigo attack and last night I fainted. Does anybody know any interactions between these 2 medications? ## Hello, Antonio! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between these medications, but it is always best to double check to be sure. The vertigo and fainting may be due to the Meniere's itself, according to the NIH, it can cause those symptoms, in some people that take it. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi: My doctor just prescribed Triamterene for my dizziness and possible Meniere's or vestibulary migraine and I also take meclizine when needed. My blood pressure is at the lower end. Maybe this is why Antonio fa...

I have been prescribed this medication for inner ear treatment. My doctor told me to take a pill at about 8 o'clock in the morning because this medication will make me go to the ladies room 3 times more often than I usually do. I said that I don't need to go more often than I do because it was already many times more than what is normal. Even during the night time I'm going every 1-2 hours on some nights, but sometimes don't get up and just use the bathroom normally: before going to bed and after I get up. Some nights I can go just 1 time during my sleep cycle. My doctor still thinks that I need to take this medication daily anyway. I take it now like he prescribed, but received the opposite effect. After talking a pill at 8 o'clock in the morning I go to the bathroo...

I had open heart surgery in 2000, no problems since. Doc. put me on this medication and won't refill without a office visit ($100 minimum). With rising cost, I have no medical ins. to help me out with the cost of the visit. The meds are only $4 a month, but can't get a script without a office visit. Sad isn't it? It seems that the money pinch will get you somewhere. Please I need to know if there is an over the counter for this medication. ## Just go to the free clinic and a doctor will give you a script hey i understand your health insurance problem and i pay taxes so forget being ashamed about the free clinic ## Unfortunately, most doctors will not continue to prescribe, without an office visit, because they need to monitor your condition. As Grady has stated, a free, or s...

Where is the manufacture of Actavis generic drug, Triamterene-HCTZ (37.5-25 mg) tablets before distribution? ## Hello Ro, I'm having a hard time determining what your question is. Actavis is the manufacturer/labeler of this medication so they are the source of the pill prior to distribution. If you are asking about the location of the Actavis plant that manufactured your pill it would be difficult to say as they have plants all around the world to include Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Northern-Ireland, Italy, Malta, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Serbia, Thailand, the UK and the US. One way that you could trace the origin of your medication is to find the batch number on the package that the medicine came in ...

I was diagnosed with Meneer's Disease and get super dizzy and have to force myself to go to sleep. Even then I wake up with it still. Is hydrochlorothiazide 25mg / triamterene 37.5mg tabs by Sandoz, greenish blue? ## Drug manufacturers can change the color or shape of any pill over a period of time without prior notice, so this is definitely something that you cannot asses unless you have the pill in your possession. Alternatively, if you can provide me the imprints and shape of the pill, I can look it up for you in a drug database and get back to you with any of these details. ## My mother has been on Triamterene/HCTZ 37.5/25 capsules for many years. The drug is manufactured by Sandoz. When she refilled the drug this weekend, she received tablets, not the capsules she had been getting. She is 86 years old, and concerned about possible side effects of changing the medication form. Are the capsules still available? ## ...

I have been taking triamterene/hctz for over 10 years. My doctor at the time put me on it for water retention. I recently had to switch doctors and she wouldn't refill it for me because she says it's not good for my health. Well the first day I was off the med, I started retaining a lot of water in my fingers legs feet. If I want to reduce the retention, I have to get off my feet and elevate them. I am so frustrated and unhappy and uncomfortable and am worried the retention is always going to be a problem. Anyone else have this happen and can help me with info what to do? I am thinking of going back to one of the doctors I had been going to knowing she will prescribe me some kind of diuretic ## Hello, Donna! How are you? I went to refill my prescription and for the first time in 12 years it is "not available". I have been switched but is this shortage mean its been discontinued? I do not seem to be doing as well with the replacement (retaining fluid more) and want my old medicine back! ## It has not been discontinued, at this time, according to the reports that are listed by the FDA, but that could change. The manufacturers have had a shortage of the Triamterene, but they haven't given any explanation as to why and most reported that it would be back on the market in April and May, which has clearly not happened, yet. What medication were you switched to? ## I was switched to hydrochlorot 25 mg...pharmacy told me yesterday they are getting no info except still unavailable. Thanks ## Then the...

Have been dignosed with vasculitis. Am told my triamterene may have caused it. Have been taking triamterne 37.5/25 for many years with no problem. Vasculitis occurred approx 2 years ago. Any association? Doctor can find no other reason for my vasculitis in both ankles. ## Hello, Vetolia! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Yes, this medication has been known to cause vasculitis in some people that take it, as listed by the FDA. Other possible side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry cough, increased urination and hypotension. Regardless of how long you've taken something, it's always possible to suddenly experience a new reaction or complication, because our bodies do change with time. can I still take this meds ## I have amox/k dated 4-07-09 is this medicine still good? ## If these are in a bottle as dispensed by your pharmacy, they are generally good for one year from the date you have received them, after that, they begin to lose efficacy, since that exposes them to the elements that cause degradation, such as heat, light, and moisture, according to FDA regulations. However, if they are still in the original, unopened factory sealed container, they are usually good for approximately 4 to 5 years. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, increased urination, headache, and hypotension. Are there any other questions?

diet pills ## Are these 2 seperate drugs or both combined for a single pill? There is info for Traimterene and Phentermine seperately, not sure if they are ever combined into a single pill though. Jake ## Jacob is correct, these are not available in a single tablet, but they are available separately, via prescription. The FDA warns that Phentermine is a stimulant, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, and anorexia. Triamterene is listed as possibly causing side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Are there any other questions?

Did Mylan ever package Triamterene-HTCZ 37.5-25 MG CP that wasn't dispensed in bottles? My drugstore hunted for us and found the yellow & green pill, but it's not in a bottle, just a yellow flat pk. Is it counterfeit? ## There is no specific way a manufacturer is required to package a medication. While most use bottles, since it is cheaper, and more convenient, not all of them do. What are the markings on them? Can you please post back with this additional information? That is what would enable me to double check the contents for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

I accidentally took 2 doses of my blood pressure medication (Triamterene-Hydrochlorothiazide 37.5 - 25 mg). What should I do or what could happen? ## Hi Marquetta, Sorry to hear about your situation. How are you feeling since taking that extra dose? My personal opinion is that it may be best to contact your doctor, local pharmacist and/or poison control just to be on the safe side. However, if this medicine is lowering your blood pressure, perhaps engaging in some sort of physical activity that gets your heart rate up could help counteract the possibility of severe hypotension. Please note that this is not medical advice, but just my own theory, since that's what these medications are indicated for... As far as what could potentially happen outside of low blood pressure, there may b...

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, dehydration, and increased urination. Is there anything else I can help with?

Could use without side effects. Now my pharmacy doesn't carry this and uses only oval green pill marked APO. Instead of eliminating edema, I retain so much fluid that I can't wear my shoes and find it difficult to walk. Have asked pharmacist if others have had this problem and was told no one else had reported this problem. I have tried stopping and fluid decreases, although it takes several days, and waiting a week and starting again. I have done this three times and each time when I take the medication, the edema comes back. In fact it seems to be worse each time. Since this is prescribed as a fluid pill, what is going on and what is it doing to my body other than the edema? Am I the only person who has had a problem with this specific medication? ## This medication contains t...

small off yellow oval pill. APO on 1 side and the numbers 3-7.5-325 on the other. ## Based on your description I located a similar pill, if not the pill you are looking for. The pill is Triamterene (37.5 mg) + Hydrochlorothiazide (25 mg). It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and edema (water retention). NOTE: This particular pill I located is a light green color. Maybe can be mistaken for off-yellow. Also the imprint APO is on one side and the numbers 37.5 | 25 are on the other side. You can view a detailed description of the drug, by clicking on the link below... If you have any more questions or comments to add, please post back so I can further assist you. ## Apo one side and 40 on the other yellow oval in shape. What is it? Was told it was an oxy 40.
