I had dilaudid IV for several days after my c-section because of some problems with the surgery. I saw a specialist about 25 days later and still tested positive. It was not an issue but surprised to hear it could show so long. All of you people trying to beat tests need to just do it the right way. There are never guarantees.

Mite sound like a silly question but I have a desent tolerance to my meds I took 30mg oxycodone its not doin i have and 8mg dilaudid i have never took the to together im just wondering if i should split the dilaudid in half or take as a whole ## Hello, Bhat! How are you? How has your doctor advised you to take them? Both of them risk causing depression of the central nervous systems and taking both will compound the problem, so you may run into dangerously low heart rate and blood pressure. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## how long will it take for my body to process 12 mg of dilaudid a day for 2 1/2 weeks? thanks!! ## Does anyone know if there are c...

I recently found a bottle of pills that says hydromorphon (without the e) 8mg and the bottle also says it is a replacement for dilaudid. The problem though is the pills are just round and white and say nothing on them. I would like to know if these are truly what the bottle is. ## Hello, Talos! How are you? There are no unmarked Hydromorphone tablets available in the U.S. So, they are most likely not what the label claims. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can a person who has detoxes from opiates be given Dilaudid for pain? My son has been sent to the ER from rehab and I heard the nurse say that's what they are waiting on. ## Yes, if the doctor deems it appropriate. Dilaudid is classified by the FDA as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. That doesn't mean that he will become instantly addicted, or that they will prescribe a long-term supply. They usually just dose the person at the ER and send them on their way. I have been prescribed 8mg. D's for 10 yrs. Rarely run out. I maintain high levels in my system at all times. Recently my employer implemented a zero tolerance for opiates in the workplace (even witth a valid prescription).I'm set to be tested (urinalysis) in approx. 4 days. Considering my lengthy affiliation and subsequent addition to this med. what is a realistic time frame that I should allow myself to be able to pass a urinalysis screen? I cannot afford to lose my job, so I would much rather err on the side of caution. Thanks for the info. It is critical that I test negative.... ## I assume by D's you mean Dilaudid 8mg tablets? If so, then they are usually detectable for approximately 4 to 5 days, after last dosing, in standard urine tests. Learn more Dilaudid details he...

I believe you are referring to the medication Dilaudid which is a very strong narcotic pain killer. So the doctor is taking your son off it cold turkey? If he has been taking it for awhile he might go through a brief but very intense withdrawal period lasting up to several days. He will definitely need you to be there for him during that time. There is a lot more information available about this drug on the page for Dilaudid ...

my daughter is addicted to this drug. I need 2 know, what these pills look like. ## They are tiny, yellow, and round. ## Actually, there is NO possible way to describe ALL of them that are on the market, or post pictures of them. Dialudid is also available as a generic, Hydromorphone, once these are on the market, they are made by MANY different companies and how the tablets look is ENTIRELY up to the manufacturers, there is NO rule stating they all have to be the same size, shape or color. Crystal may have seen tiny, yellow round ones, but I have seen large, oval white ones, the size can also vary according to dose. The easiest way to do handle this is, if you find a tablet you are suspicious of, post back with the imprint and we will gladly look it up for you to check its contents. I ...

I need this pain to stop. Please. ## Hello, Ruby! How are you? Yes, if it is was prescribed that way, then the intent is for you take another, if one doesn't alleviate your pain. However, be careful not to exceed your doctor's dosing instructions. If two doesn't help, then you should consult them for ass...

Can u give ur dog dilaudid for pain he has teeth pain badly gonna be having all his teeth pulled very soon but he's in a lot of pain now and he ran out of his and I don't have the money to get a refill. And if he can how many MG's an old I give him......??????? ## I wouldn't recommend administering strong medication like Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) without first consulting your pet's veterinarian. However, from what I understand, the dosage is generally determined by the weight of your dog. According to wikipedia, the recommended dose of Hydromorphone for dogs is listed at 0.05 - 0.1 mg/per kg of body weight, to be administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously every 24 hours. Were you planning on giving your dog actual pills or going the IV route? ## In relation to giv...

My neurologist wants me to get off as many as possible. So, wonderful me stopped taking some of my medicine. I stopped the temazepam with no problems, I did not have a refill on my klonopin so went a week off of that. Just a little nausea. I separated my baclofen out from 3 a day to 2 a day. No problem. Does it matter if the pill with the M on one side and the 4 on the other are either hydromorphone or dilaudid for what kind of strength or the effects you get from it? Also is there such a thing as timed release either one of those? ## Hello, James! How are you? Hydromorphone is the active ingredient in Dilaudid, so that is what the generics are called. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. The time released formulation is called Exalgo. Is there anything else I can help with?

i got what was supposed to be an 8 mg. Dilaudid. It's about 3/8 inch diameter, white pill, no markings on one side, a large 8 on the other. That's it. ## What shape is the pill? Circular from the sounds of it but just making sure. ## @peteaudud, If you run a search on google images for "Hydromorphone M 8", you'll see one of the closest matches out there for the pill you're describing. Perhaps the letter "M" could've gotten smudged off? In either case, the imprint "M 8" on a white three-sided pill is identified as Hydromorphone hydrochloride (8 mg); a generic for Dilaudid. Manufacturer: Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals National Drug Code (NDC): 00406-3249 Would you say this is a viable match? ## I haven't found any Dilaudid/Hydromorphone tablet...

I dont like taking any drugs but iv had three back surgerys ,Is dilaudid 4mg or ms cotin60mg. ## The 60mg MS Contin, Morphine, would actually be a stronger dose, to equal it, you would need 15mgs of the Dilaudid, Hydromorphone. Both are narcotics and can cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. is dylatin and dyladid the same medication OR is it used for the samething??? ## Hello, Rony! How are you? No, they are not the same, nor do they treat the same things. Dilaudid contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have the name of the Peach/Orange Pill with P on one side and 2 on the other. This is a Dilaudid (2 mg). I want to know the manufacturer. Also do you know what pharmacies use this specific generic pill. I am super sensitive to fillers in the meds and the one that Walgreen uses is white and makes my sinus act up. The only Dilaudid (2 mg) that doesnt mess me up is the Peach/Orange one. However, I was given those in the hospital. It is not the brand name dulaudid though because every one uses the generic a brand name one is not made any longer. ## Hello, Brenda! How are you? Why do doctors write a prescription for meds that you can't fill? I PAID $257.00 dollars for my script. ## Hello, Tony! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're been having trouble finding your medication. Unlike pharmacists, doctors aren't informed on medication shortages or other supply chain issues that may affect what's available. On top of that, he has no way of knowing what pharmacy any given patient is going to use, to check with them and see what they do or do not have in stock.
