Dilaudid/klondine/baclofen/fentynal Detox

I have a wonderful painful disease called pls. My pain management doctor has me on 100 mg of Fentynal, 4 mg as need of dilaudid,10 mg of baclofen. My crazy doctor has me on temazepam, klonopin 2 mg. My neurologist wants me to get off as many as possible. So, wonderful me stopped taking some of my medicine.

I stopped the temazepam with no problems, I did not have a refill on my klonopin so went a week off of that. Just a little nausea. I separated my baclofen out from 3 a day to 2 a day. No problem. Then I took 1/2 of a dilaudid and went into a spiral like no other. I was sick when I took 1/2, sick when I didn't. Had chest pains, eyes twitched, air hurt the hair on my arms, throwing up, wrenching and praying for it to be over.

Friday night I Called my dr... He told me to go to the ER. ER ruled out any chest pain. Gave me a shot of dilaudid and phenegren. His advice was to take phenegren with my 1/2 dilaudid, for today, and nothing tomorrow. Called the on call doctor, and he said it sounded reasonable. Tried it. Didn't work. Then I read on one of these threads that klonopin helps withdrawals. Now, I am taking 1/2 klonopin (1 mg), and 2m depakote. I am hoping not to become addicted to klonopin.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get off these meds?

I'm assuming I need to keep the klonopin, but how many days should I be on 2 mg dilaudid and 1 mg klonopin, with the phenegren before I stop the dilaudid? My next one is to step back on the fentynal to the 87 that we were trying to use. I am afraid to go back to the 87 we were trying to cut back to.

I maybe trying to cut back on too many things at once, on my own. Does anyone have an opinion on what should go first? I'm trying to get back to 75 mcg Fentynal, like before my last surgery. I am trying to get off the others because they all cause memory loss, and I have no short term memory, and literally lost from April until now. My neurologist says it has nothing to do with my disease and everything to do with the meds. Any suggestions?

Yes, your neurologist is most likely correct, many medications can cause such memory loss. The most prominent culprits in your list are the benzodiazepines and the narcotics, the FDA even includes it in the side effect warnings for them, along with dizziness, drowsiness and constipation.

You really need to do a slow taper, though. You do seem to be rushing things a bit.

Have you asked one of your doctors to help you with this? They should be able to help you set up a safe tapering schedule, rather than leaving you to do this all on your own.
