How are you? All Metformin actually has a foul smell to it, it's just that many manufacturers coat the tablets, so it doesn't bother anyone. And your blood sugar should fluctuate to a point, just like blood pressure, it shouldn't always be just one steady number. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Metformin definitely caused me to fart more than I ever have also the most lingerin...

Can I substitute metformin for glipizide ## Hello, Randy! How are you? They both treat diabetes, but they are not the same type of medication, so aren't necessarily interchangeable. Have they both been prescribed for you? Or are you just out of your Glipizide? What are the dosages of both medications?

I am taking metformin 1000mg twice a day. what should be the time interval between two takes? ## Hello, Peter! How are you? Usually, it's taken just before a meal to help control blood sugar levels and, in most cases, that would be breakfast and dinner. However, what has your doctor advised? Did they give you any specific instructions? ## Hi, then what about lunch? I was told by my doctor to take it in the morning with breakfast and in the evening with dinner. However, I eat a heavier lunch than breakfast and wonder if I should take the first one at lunch rather than breakfast. I take Metformin 1000mg HCL. Is this extended release or just regular? Thank you for your time and advice.

Hi.. My mum is 58 and she is diabetic, usually her sugar n bp levels are always high but recently her sugar levels has dropped leading to her going into a diabetic coma. Her iron n blood levels are extremely low and she's very weak. Her chest gets wheezy mostly at night BUT SHE DOESN'T have wheezing or asthma, the clinic just nibulize her chest n sends her back, this happens twice or thrice a week, not sure what to do anymore..pls help! ## Hello, Sharal! How is your mom doing? That sounds like she may be having congestive heart failure, which is possible if her blood pressure levels have been high for awhile. Does she have a cardiologist? This needs to be checked out and remedied. That wheezing mostly at night is a symptom of it. What medications does she take?

I have Type 2 diabetes and at the moment have been put on to a course of SERC to try and help with vertigo which i have had for 5 months. When checking my blood sugar instead of a reading of about 7--- I am getting readings of 9.6. Is this caused by the SERC (betahistine). Is this the reason for the high blood sugar readings ## Hello, Maurice! How are you? It is possible, some medications can elevate blood sugar levels. Have you had this checked out, yet? It might not be the right medication for you, or the dosages of your diabetes medications may need to be adjusted to compensate.

A doctor said that Metformin at times creates deficiency of Vitamin B12 resulting in loss of haemoglobin. My mother is diabetic and B12, folic acid deficient. The medication for B12 and Folic acid did not show satisfactory result after one month because Glycomet was being taken along with them. How far is it correct? Thanks in advance.

I have diabetes and neuropathy with severe pain in my hands, feet, and legs. My doctor has prescribed REGABA-BM for me for the last 2 years and says it will take away the pain I am having. He has also prescribed PARANOL for the pain. When I am out of PARANOL the REGABA-BM does not take away any of the pain I am having. But my doctor insists that it will. I've been taking Metanx for 6 days now; the pain in my feet has decreased but now I have tingling in both legs and at night I have some minor tingling in my torso and face. Does anyone know how long this type of side effect lasts? ## Hello, Niecy! How are you? Metanx is just considered a medical food, because it's a supplement that contains nutrients known to support nerve health. Thus, it doesn't actually alleviate pain or cause side effects, so to speak. The tingling may just be due to the nutrients improving the circulation in your body, but you should have it checked out, just in case. Is there anything else I can help with?
