I feel a warm sensation in my feet i'm 68 years old and not diabetic.doctor priscribe vitamin b complex .but no better ## Hello, George! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. How long have you been taking the vitamin B complex? Since it is just a supplement, it can take awhile to have a beneficial effect. But B vitamins are known to help with nerve problems, such as what you've described. Are you on any other medications? Do you have any other medical conditions?

I have ballooned up to 103kg and I am only 5"4 and 24 years of age. For the last 3 weeks I have been curled over in pain (abdominal & back), I can't sleep and sometimes cant make it to work as I am in too much pain to get up the stairs and out the front door... When does it stop feeling so awful?? ## Hello, Angelina! How are you feeling? I'm sorry that you're so miserable. Please see your doctor, as soon as possible. That severe pain is not a normal side effect of Metformin and might indicate a bad reaction to it, or that you are suffering from some other health problem. It's normal...

Have two refills -180 tablets and they smell really bad -like dead fish. Returned to Pharmacy. Why the smell and how much of the risk for me? Thank you. ## Hello, Neb! How are you? There is no risk to you and there is nothing wrong with those tablets. Metformin actually does smell horrible, it's just that some manufacturers use a coating on them to prevent the odor. do all metaformin pills have the same markings..? ## Hello, Judah! How are you? No, they do not. Each manufacturer must use unique imprints to enable their tablets to be identified, in case of emergency. The imprints also have to differ from one dosage to the next. This enables authorities to trace what a pill contains, what its dosage is and who manufactured it, just from looking the imprint up in a database. Metformin is an oral antidiabetic medication that is used to help lower and control blood sugar, side effects may include nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, flatulence and hypoglycemia. Do you have a tablet that you are questioning? If so, please post back with the markings on it and I will be glad to research it for you to see what it contains.

Could metformin be the cause of blisters n toes, ankles, feet and inside of mouth without fever? ## Hello, Georgette! How are you? I'm very sorry about the symptoms you're having. Please see your doctor immediately to have this checked out. There is a chance that this could be a rare and possibly dangerous reaction to the medication called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, which can be fatal, if left untreated. You need to have this checked out ASAP, for your own safety. Is this safe for a person with Type 2 Diabetes? I think it is loaded with sugars but cannot find any exact information about this. I think it might be the reason my sugar count has been up for the past month. I have a problem staying asleep and have been using zzzquil for the past month or so and it seems to help, but if it is keeping my sugar count high I'll have to stop taking it. ## Hello, Larry! How are you? One of the inactive ingredients is high fructose corn syrup, which could raise your sugar levels, especially if you're sensitive to it, as some people tend to be. If you need a sleep aid that doesn't contain it, the active ingredient in this is just Diphenhydramine, 50mgs per dose. Diphenhydramine is available by itself in Benadryl and its generics, as well as in pro...

I have prediabetes and was prescribed metformin 500 1x a day. Got along for almost a year now having all kinds of gastric problems, pain nausea etc. also have vomiting and diarrhea once every 2 to 3 months. Now trying 1/2 a pill. Would extended release help and is the vomiting occasionally related? ## Hello, Deejoe! How are you? Metformin can cause gastric side effects, it's fairly common for it to do so. Other side effects may include dizziness, flatulence, stomach pain and hypoglycemia. As to the occasional vomiting and diarrhea, if they are occurring that infrequently, they most likely aren't related to the medication. Are you on any other medications? Have you changed your dietary intake, at all? There are many things that could potentially cause such symptoms. How are you d...
