Have reduced food intake, fruits, starches etc. But not much difference in results. Readings are before meals. What are other options as far as medications to take to help the metformin? ## Hello, Uvaldo! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. As to your food intake, have you also reduced the amount of sweets overall and fats that you take in? According to various research papers on diabetes, fats can coat the cells and prevent their absorption of insulin, which elevates your blood sugar levels. You can really eat as much enough to feel full and satisfied, it just has to be of healthy, low-fat and low-sugar...

I was on metformin for years, was having pain near liver area, biopsy revealed a non-alcoholic -stealatic -liver.{ Fibrosis } stage -2-3} the Dr. told me it progressed badly because of the metformin and took me off of them. ## I am very sorry about the problems you have experienced from it. Unfortunately, there is no way to know, ahead of time, how any given medication is going to affect anyone that takes it. Most medications are processed through the liver, so there is always a risk associated with using them for a long period of time. small round white pill found with a line through one side and the number 0.2 on the other side ## The medication is called Desmopressin. It's a man-made form of a hormone that occurs naturally in the pituitary gland. This hormone is important for many functions including blood flow, blood pressure, kidney function, and regulating how the body uses water. Desmopressin is used to treat bed-wetting, central cranial diabetes insipidus, and increased thirst and urination caused by head surgery or head trauma.

I take this medication, but I am having trouble keeping my sugar down. It has been running high for a few weeks. My question is- can I take more Metformin to regulate my sugar? It is highest at night. I take 2 per day which is what is prescribed. Can I also take one before I go to bed? ## Just add Fenfuro in your existing medicinal regime and feel the results within 3-6 months. ## I wouldn't suggest changing your medication, without first consulting your doctor. They are the ones who will best know how to help you with your problem. Another thing that you have to take in consideration is your diet, if you are still continuing to just eat whatever you want, including foods that contain high amounts of fats and sugars, you can't expect this medication to be able to completely cont...

I hit my head and right of my face on the Tarmac, but had only a minor hemorrhage in the brain with hair line injury on the jaw as I was wearing a coutomary had gear. Was unconscious for some time. At present, I am foggy, forget things, remember things with difficulty, strain while speaking, and have a unnatural & general feeling of not being OK/normal. I have been on Januvia (25mg) for only three days and on day two I started experiencing severe dizziness. I didn't take a dose this morning because I was still dizzy from the previous day's dose. Does this side effect pass or should I contact my doctor? ## Stop the drug and notify your MD ASAP. ## @Vegas Mama, The US National Library of Medicine lists "dizziness" as an uncommon side effect of Januvia; at which point it sounds like it would be a good idea to stop taking the medication and contact your doctor right away (as Jerry suggested). Ref: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0045526/#DDIC602203.side_effects_section But to further answer your question, some side effects don't necessarily require immediate medical attention, and may very well go away on their own as ...

Does metformin cause its users to loose weight besides controlling their blood glucose levels? ## Hello, Missy! How are you? It can help with weight loss, since it improves the body's use of insulin. It is sometimes given to women with PCOS/PCOD, since it can help with their weight gain and improve their condition. However, it shouldn't be used for weight loss, unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to do so. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, flatulence, stomach pain and hypoglycemia. Is there anything else I can help with?

would like to suggest a glucose pen such like the epi pen for my brother with type 1 diabetes. ## And Epi pen, is Ephiphrine, used to treat allergies and would not do anything for diabetes. You are able to buy both tablets that dissolve in the mouth, as well as liquid drops at virtually any drugstore, that work fast to relieve a low sugar attack. Orange Juice, or any liquid with a regular sugar content will help to bring him out of it, just follow it with something like yogurt or a sandwich that contains long sugar molecules to maintain the sugar balance at a higher level. ## Glucagon is an injectable treatment for low blood sugar, primarily for those with type 1 diabetes or who have frequent low blood sugars that require help to treat. It works much like an Epipen and comes in a kit. I...

Hello. I am taking metformin Er 2000mg daily. Doc just prescribed glyburide 5mg once daily, additionally. The side effects for this one little 5mg green pill are just awful! I shake, get weak (low blood sugar), sweat, heart palpitations etc. Although I take it with food, I have very slow digestion so it can take up to 3-4 hours to hit me. I end up eating a sweet something to help the side effects. Which is ridiculous! My question is: how can a 5mg pill affect me so harshly? Eating sugar to counteract it is defeating the point! My average blood sugar is over 200. I am cutting out sugar, eating more protein , taking my meds. Metformin Er gives me no problems, but the normal metformin upset my tummy. ## Hello, Sharon! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the problem that you've bee...
