I've been on metformin extended release for about 3 1/2 weeks now. I have not noticed any improvement in my symptoms, I'm taking it for insulin resistance and pcos. I've been monitoring my blood glucose as well and no change there either. My concern is that the pills arent dissolving. I read online that the shell of the extended release pills will pass in your stool, and I thought they were just shells. But I got curious since I haven't noticed any changes and see the shells everyday. So I put on gloves and poked one of the shells and the inside was filed with white contents just like the pill. For others on the extended release, have you ever done this? Is the shell usually empty and soft just like a shell, or does it too have the white contents? My doctor is out of the...

Hi my age is 29, am suffering dibatis diases, and i am using Glycomet Gp 2, Tazloc 20, now my sugar level is pp 147, i will continue this medicine, or i will change my mdicine. so pls tell me .... ## Hello, Bhaskar! How are you? Tazloc is not used to treat diabetes. It is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac diseases, but your doctor might have prescribed it to help protect your kidneys from the damage that diabetes can cause. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. How long PP are you getting this reading? That's not ridiculously high, but it could be lower. What types of foods do you eat? The medication will not do everything to control your blood sugar, you also n...

Hello I take meds for seizure's. Type 2 diabetes cholesterol depression pills anxiety pills and insomnia. I have taken this medication before when I injured my knee now my knee is hurting me more in before I'm just wondering is it safe to take with all my other medication thank you in advance ## Hello, Nita! How are you? I would be very glad to help you, except for one problem…. you forgot to mention the medication in question. Can you please post back and clarify? I'd also appreciate your providing the names of your other medications, as that would make it much easier for me to check for problems and interactions for you. Usually the seizure medications are the most problematic for interactions, since they can cause various side effects as listed by the FDA, which may...

Aurobindo - SHUT THEY DOWN! When a manufacturer changes we should be notified. After all, it is our money going to these companies. I opened my Metformin and noticed the shape and the SMELL was unbelievable - FISH SMELL. I will only accept meds from TEVA. How do they get away with this? I called the pharmacy and they were not very concerned. I'm going to inform everyone I know (family, friends, church members, EVERYONE) about this manufacturer. ## Hello, Connie! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're so upset. However, Metformin always has an odd smell, the difference is that some companies use an outer coating to keep you from smelling it, but I can assure you that it is completely normal, which is why your pharmacy wasn't concerned. The FDA lists the typical side effe...

On 09/10 there was a question asked about DBX-13. I stumbled on this site also trying to find more information on this natural product for Diabetes. I heard about it from an email sent to me by Newsmax which was a "talk" video entitled "7 Deadly Drugs the Government Wants You to Swallow" presented by Jenny Thompson, Director of the Health Science Institute. Thompson talks about certain health concerns and the 7 deadly drugs (some are multiple drugs), along with 7 natural cures (i.e. H-86 vaporizes cancer tumors; DBX-13 proven to normalize diabetic sugar in 3 months, etc.). H.S.I. is offering a book explaining the research entitled "Miracles from the Vault", an anthology of underground cures. Other than that, they do not carry the product. How to get?? ## Hi, Barb...

I have taken metanx for 2 1/2 mo my feet and ancles have gotten so sore i could hardly walk on them. I quit taking the med. 3 days ago and can feel a great differance in the pain leavel. ## After doing some major research Shaklee B Complex is equivalent to Metanx! Hope this comes through - they blocked my comment from yesterday! ## There have been a few people reporting that Metanx caused them worse pain and did not help at all. Unfortunately, it appears that it does cause this opposite effect in some people. Have you spoken to your doctor about using something else? Mommacakes, did you have a link to a site that sells the item in your post? If so, then yes, our site software does, sometimes, block those to prevent spamming. ## First, let me say that I meant to say Complex B from Shakle...

Fruits to avoid, meats, fish, poultry, cereals, nuts etc. ## Hello, Alex! How are you? As reported by the NIH, the main things to avoid are sweets and high fat foods, which means you also need to watch your fruit intake. However, beyond that, there is no specific list that can be given. Carbohydrates can raise your blood sugar, but it varies from person to person how much they affect it and which ones, some people seem to tolerate certain foods much better than others. The best thing to do is to make sure you eat a healthy, well balanced diet and get lots of exercise. You should also avoid alcohol, because it can lower blood sugar and shouldn't be mixed with most medications. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am unclear as to how to take this medication. My doctor just told me to take in the a.m. I have been told to take it before meals and others say after meals. I am unable to reach my physician at this time. ## In our facility we administer the med at 9am; once we are sure that breakfast is available and is eaten. Every individual has a special case and deoendant on how fragile your diabetes is, the doctor may have more specific concerns on when to take the drug(ie if you are fasting or vomiting etc) Since the doctor stated that the AM is the time frame the doctor may not be concerned about the before or after aspect of the dosing too much. But do folow up with the question. The key to diabetes control is the diet/weight management and prescribed exercise with the medication regimen tak...

i need more detail info on this product and Info from other user. ## Hi James, I would encourage you to have a look at a couple of the other DBX-13 related discussion threads here, as there's some pertinent information you should know about the company (Heath Science Institute) who promotes this product: Discuss/dbx-13-251946.htm Discuss/DBX-13-scam-261559.htm To summarize my findings, DBX-13 is quite simply a scam. I think it's very sad that companies like HSI profit off building false hope for individuals who truly need help addressing complicated illnesses like diabetes or cancer. But threads like these can certainly be used to spread awareness and perhaps even point others to more promising alternatives or approaches to treatment.

After taking Pioz there is a weight gain and swelling on the feet. Kindly suggest, do I need to take Pioz if I ma on insulin? Your reply would be appreciated. Many Thanks! ## Hello, Shabnam! How are you? What are your blood sugar readings? If they are still high and out of control, yes, you may need the additional medication. However, you should have the weight gain and swelling checked out to be safe. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, stomach pain and flatulence. Is there anything else I can help with?
