Hello. I am hoping someone can give me an idea of how much I'll have to pay per month to start taking Ozempic? I have BCBS insurance but has anyone tried to buy Ozempic without insurance using the savings card? If so, how much did you have to pay? I really need this medicine so I can get healthy again. ## If you go to a private drug store, ask the owner if they can get it for cheap. I did. ## Do not take this if you are not diabetic. THEY need these meds. But if you have to pay cash, AAA gives a really good discount at chain pharmacies. My $90 meds became $30 but CVS told me someone’s $900 dog meds became $90 with AAA. If your pharmacy is not used to processing these you might have to go to the AAA website to look at the discount card to get the bin number, but a lot of the ch...

I just started Ozempic today and forgot to count to 6 after injecting the needle before removing it. Did I still get my dose in me?? ## Definitely not. ## Has anyone used their Ozempic after it froze? My whole script froze..7 weeks worth. It defrosted and looks OK... The warnings seem a bit dire, but my chemist said it might just lose some of its efficacy? Anyone taken it after defrosting? ## Can you still use your Ozempic if it was delivered hot? Medicine was very hot, ice was thawed, temp here was 95. ## Hi, I don't feel the needle in my skin at all (no pain or anything). Does this mean I am not getting a dose of Ozempic? I pinch the skin on my stomach or thigh and push the needle in but don't feel anything. Is it the same for everyone else? ## I think I am on week 13. I have ...

I had been on ozempic for diabetes for about 18 months. Great results! Low side effects. A1c down to 5.6, cut my insulin in half and lost 60 pounds! I was also basically immobile for any distance more than 100ft., on O2 for 24hrs a day and unable to do anything more than light care for myself. After losing 60lbs I am able to do most things and no longer need O2. My life has been transformed! Ozempic has been hard to get, due to demand and I was changed to truelicity. My insulin need increased and I was hungry. Very hungry! I quickly changed back to ozempic and my pharmacy said they should be able to supply at my level of 1mg dosage. My husband retired, I went on medicare with a plan G, and rx coverage thinking medicare would cover some. I used the last of my ozempic in December. I am un...

I have been taking Sitara M 100/500 after breakfast and my postprandial (pp) level is doing very well. I take Glucophage 500 mg SR after dinner, but my fasting level is around 120 or 125. Can I discontinue Glucophage and just take Sitara M 100/500 in the evening? Kindly advise. ## I have been diabetic for 10 years. I take Sitara M 100/500 mg after breakfast and Glycomet 500 mg SR after dinner. My fasting level is 132, and my post-lunch level is 161. My physiotherapist has asked me to take half of the Sitara M 100/500 dose at night as well. I am just hesitant about two things: first, whether Sitagliptin can be taken twice a day, and second, whether there will be muscle loss because an additional dose of Glycomet may lead to further muscle loss. What should I do? Is there any harm in taki...

I have been on Victoza but my new Endocrinologist is wanting me to switch to Ozempic. However, I have diabetic retinopathy and one of the side effects listed for Ozempic is possible worsening of that condition. Anyhow, I am just wondering if anyone else has switched from Victoza to Ozempic and had any results to share? Also, if anyone knows any updates on the correlation between Ozempic and diabetic retinopathy, I'd be really eager to hear them. Thanks!

It’s a great medication. Thus far I have lost 20 pounds with ease along with my normal cardio routine; I’m experiencing the possible non life threatening side effects. However there is a side effect that is not listed which I’m experiencing since starting the dosage regimen to 10mg: erectile dysfunction. 2 other men I met via pharmacy told me that they are also affected & ED medication does not have any effect. We all know that it’s a 1x per week dosage so I put it through the test I had gone 9 days without the injection & I started to feel my ability returning. Needless to say the medication starts to weaken in your metabolism by the 10th day I was functioning normal again, however I would not recommend missing a dosage date. I’m back on my dosage ...

I have started on Victoza for the last couple of weeks, and have noticed the difference in my appetite etc which is actually very exciting for someone who has always overeaten. One question though, I've been told to take it in the morning by my GP, however my "problem" time for overeating is after 8pm at night. I've noticed may take it with their evening meal. Would this have a better effect on my late eavening eating? ## According to the manufacturer's website here it can be taken any time of day, but you should always double check with your doctor to be sure it is okay for you to do so. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Victoza as possibly including headache, heartburn, constipation, and indigestion. Is there anything else I can help with?

After seven weeks on Ozempic the skin on my upper back and sides have become very sensitive to the touch, like a sunburn but no redness. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm on my third week of the .5 dose. No weight loss yet. ## Hello, Christi! How are you doing? Has there been any change? I suggest contacting your doctor to be safe, since there is a warning about Ozempic potentially causing some serious side effects involving pain in the stomach, side, and abdomen. The FDA lists other side effects as possibly including anxiety, headache, constipation, rapid heart rate, and increased hunger. Ref: Ozempic Information ## Yes! This is common now that I am researching it more. Check out other forums. It’s there. Not sure if dose dependent ## My upper back especially feels awful,...

I just started Jardiance today in the morning together with my insulin and Metformin XR 1000mg. I have been feeling nausea all day, not been able to do much. Can I take this tablet in the evening so I can sleep away the nausea? I didn't have to run to the toilet a lot but it may change as I continue. ## Hi. I'm curious about taking it at night as well. How is it working out for you? ## Hello Karen, According to the manufacturer's directions Jardiance is to be taken first thing in the morning with or without food. My research has found that this is primarily due to the way that our bodies handle insulin after a long resting periods without eating. When my wife was diagnosed with gestational diabetes she was instructed to eat foods at very particular intervals and take her med...

I am on medicare. After six months each year, the cost of Victoza throws me into the donut hole. I cannot afford the $1800 cost for Victoza for July through December so I do without, much to the dismay of my physician. (I start back taking it in January.) Are there any programs which might assist me for the last six months each year? Note: Novadisk has two patient assist programs, but for reasons I cannot fathom those of us on Medicare are specifically excluded from these programs. Together, my wife and I earn 340% of the federal poverty level for a family of 2. Thanks. ## Hello, Tim! How are you? I'm sorry about what you're dealing with. Have you spoken to your doctor about trying a different insulin that might be more affordable for you? It isn't safe to just go without fo...

Can anyone tell me more about this medication that's used for treating diabetic patients? ## Getryl contains the active ingredient Glimepiride, which is used along with diet and exercise, and sometimes with other medications, to treat type 2 diabetes. According to MedlinePlus, "Glimepiride lowers blood sugar by causing the pancreas to produce insulin and by helping the body use insulin efficiently. This medication will only help lower blood sugar in people whose bodies produce insulin naturally." Ref: MedlinePlus I hope this helps!

I’m into month 4 on this journey… I just got my bloodwork back and it’s worse than when I started this drug (Jardiance 10 mg). It seemed to help in the beginning when my morning glucose was 100-105. I have not lost any weight on this…may have gained a few pounds though. So my starting blood sugar was 116-120. Well that has not changed according to my new bloodwork. Starting A1C 6.5, now it’s 6.9! Lipids are higher because I added avocado and nuts to my diet. Starting lipid panel was showing my total cholesterol at 246, now 298! This is frightening… it’s not working. Maybe I should have tried Metformin as it’s been around for so long. ## Hello Sue, how are you doing? Has there been any change? Have you also made other dietary adjustments al...

Hi, I have been prescribed Flupen 250mg to treat a diabetic foot infection. Since I started taking it 5 days ago, my foot keeps on swelling. Is this one of the side effects? ## Flupen contains the active ingredient Flucloxacillin, it is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections. The swelling is most likely related to the infection itself, rather than the Flupen, but if it is not improving, you should inform your doctor as it may not be the right antibiotic to help you. The typical side effects of Flupen may include nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. Ref: Antibiotic Information Has there been any change?

I see the question but not the answer. ## I am interested in finding out about the availability of Syntra-5. I read somewhere that Metanx should not be taken for neuropathy due to pernicious anemia. Is this correct? I now take Neurontin and sometimes Norco. These meds do not get rid of the pain, they just take the "edge" off of it. Thank you. ## If you take Metanx, it may cause incorrect results on the blood work for Pernicious Anemia, which could lead someone to believe that they no longer have it. So the warning is related to that, since if your condition improves, or worsens, you may not know due to false results. Ref: Folate Information Has your doctor advised you to try Metanx? What dose are you on of the Norco, and Neurontin?

Has anyone had luck with insurance coverage? If so, what plan and is it a small business or large business corporate policy? ## I'm in Massachusetts and Wegovy is covered by my Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare plan. ## I'm currently on a large business insurance plan and was pleasantly surprised to find out that Wegovy is covered for me. My company is working with ibgportland, which covers it by the plan. Every insurance plan is different, but it might be worth reaching out to your insurance company to see what options are available to you. It can definitely be frustrating dealing with insurance coverage, but don't give up hope! ## I have HP but they won’t cover it, even though my BMI is over 27 and I have an obesity related condition. I’ve only been on jardiance for 3 days. Day 1 and 2 we’re totally fine, and it’s been working great for my blood sugar. But I was having some abdominal pain and tested my ketones and it came back as moderate. Does anyone else always have ketones on jardiance? ## Did you only check that once, or did you check more? What you've described was only one check, so that doesn't really translate into always having ketones while on Jardiance. However, people have been known to experience diabetic ketoacidosis, while on Jardiance, so you should make sure to check your ketones regularly, and inform your doctor of the results. Other side effects, as reported by the FDA, may include nausea, increased urination, waking up at night to urinate, hypotension, and arthralgia. Ref...

Hi! I have been taking Ozempic for weight loss (off-label), and I am currently on a 0.5 dose. I have decided to switch to Wegovy instead and plan to start in a week. Since I have been taking a 0.5 dose of Ozempic, should I start Wegovy at that same dose? I am thinking it should be okay since it's literally the same drug and my body has already adjusted to it. Thank you in advance for any feedback. ## Your doctor should be able to direct you in how to switch from one to the other, the maximum dose of Wegovy has been shown to help more with weight loss than the lower dose Ozempic. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, vomiting, heartburn, gas, and diarrhea. Ref: Semaglutide Information How has your weight loss been going, so far?

I was constipated but took duloculax and has helped. Any ideas on what to take to keep from getting violently ill? ## There is an FDA warning for Mounjaro that states if you experience stomach pain, you should inform your doctor immediately, as that could be the sign of a serious adverse reaction. Other side effects are listed as possibly including elevated heart rate, recurrent fever, anxiety, and cough. Ref: Mounjaro Information Are you on any other medications? ## I get abdominal migraines instead of migraine headaches, and one of the telltale signs of an abdominal migraine is the pain is in the middle par...
