I am 77 and type 2 for 15 yrs. I now take 1000 mg Metformin in AM and again in PM. Now in addition my Dr wants me to take 1mg Glimepiride in AM. My A1c was 7.8 and glucose 185. What can I expect from the combination? Headache, gas, etc?? ## You may experience some nausea, dizziness, headache, gas and diarrhea for a week, or so, as listed by the FDA. However, they tend to be transient side effects and typically go away, once your body gets used to the new medication. You should also make sure to check your sugar level regularly, as it could cause it to drop too low. Hello all. I'm having a situation. I'm 46 and I'm a diabetic. I take several different medications including metformin 1000 mgs 2× day, Lisinopril 20 mgs 1× day, Tradjenta 5 mgs 1× day, Glipizide 5 mgs 1× day and also a 500 mg Naproxen on occasion along with Suboxone 8/2 mg (×2) 1× a day. I now have issues of not maintaining an erection suitable for intercourse, also seemingly low libido. Not that I'm not interested but can't get "into" it so to speak, possibly from anxiety rising from a fear of not performing. I have some dribbling issues when urinating to. Am I in need of an ED medication, testosterone, or possibly a prostate exam? Please help me out. This is a very sensitive subject.

I am 51 female suffering from diabetes and high BP. I was on riomet 500 mg for Diabetes and Prolomet AM 25 and repace25 for BP. Generally well controlled .Last 15 days back my sugar was 200 PP and hence advised Gemer 1 mg once a day. I always have constipation with hard stools but from the past 10 days I strain a lot. From yesterday I am Advised Riomet 500 again and advised Lactihep syrup 10 ml twice. passed soft stools today with less strain although feel that I did not pass completely. Is it because of gemer tablet? Will a diabetic have constipation? My mother was diagnosed with Colon cancer this April 2015 and was operated. No chemotherapy suggested as she is 82 T3N1. i get one information , please tell it is true or false. one person says that drinking a honey water with lemon in early morning to reduce weight will stops the development or growth of the cells in our body? it is true or false? ## False! As a matter of fact, drinking it will not do anything, except perhaps improve the flavor of the water, unless one is allergic to one of the elements used, or if they are diabetic and should not be taking in the honey and fructose in the lemon, according to FDA reports. It will also not help aid in weight loss. Is there anything else I can help with?

After falling I was suffering from sciatica more than a year. I consulted Orthoand he proscribed me TabGabWin 75 M and Iconac-MR 8. I ha swelling in my ankle and foot. After waiting for 3days when the swelling is coming down and the Ortho proscribed capsule Altraday. I am type 2 dm since 10 yrs on metformin 1gm-glymepride 1mg bd filling some neuropathy symptoms n suger control is not so good ## According to NIH reports, both sugars and fats in your diet can affect your blood sugar levels. What types of foods do you eat? Do you keep your intake of both as low as possible? Fats tend to coat the cells and prevent them from absorbing the sugars needed for energy, so elevated amounts of it may remain in your blood. Have you considered trying insulin to see if it provides you with better control? How much exercise do you usually get each day?

My Doctor just recently Diagnosed me with Type 2 Diabetes a Month ago. So i was prescribed and have been taking Metformin 500 MG twice a day with a Meal. My first meal of the day is always a light one, if any and my 2nd Meal always in the Late Evening is generally med to heavy. But I find that since taking this drug that I have been sleeping alot, always feeling lazy and have been experiencing Heart Burn at times. But I don't think that I have Lactate Acidious that they warn of. Is this the Normal side effects of this Drug? And how long does it last? I am a diabetes type 2 patient and I was using insulin Humulene 30/70 with Glucophage 500 thrice a day, at which point my sugar level was 322. But now I changed doctors and he recommend more Galvus Met 50/850 with other medicine and currently I am not using insulin. Please tell me what I have to do. Should I use insulin again?
