Among my prescription of FENOFIBRATE 160MG tablets I noticed another tablet mixed in my prescription bottle which was larger than the other tablets. It is oblong like the regular pills but larger and the letters and numbers are RX901. This cholesterol lowering, over the counter substance is advertised on a certain radio station. Is it safe.?? Barbara H ## It is a natural product, so there have really been no tests done to determine it's safety or side effects, because they are not regulated like actual medications. They claim that is contains Plant Sterol and Allicin, which helps block the absorption of cholesterol when you eat and helps prevent it from depositing in your arteries. However, just as I stated above, testing is not done on these, so there is also no proof that it actually does anything.
