I’ve been on Fluorouracil for 23 days suppose to do 4 weeks all over complete face . But face is peeling in some areas and turned a yellowiish crusty in some places. Also cracking and bleeding in tiny spots. Should I keep using it or is this the erosion phase. What to expect next?
Updated in EfudexI have quit treating my face and neck with Efudex and I am still peeling and having breakouts and the usual recovery. I am still treating my arms and hands. My work commute is 45 mins to 1.5 hours each way depending on the traffic with the average time in my car 2 hrs per day. When can I start getting that much sun exposure and it be safe? Always wear sunscreen too. ## Hello Daisy, According to the [1] NIH Efudex page warnings section it says that exposure to ultraviolet rays should be minimized during and immediately following treatment with Efudex because the intensity of the reaction may be increased. To me this sounds like you should avoid exposing the treated areas to the sun until it has completely finished recovering. The NIH goes on to explain that the redness and peeling typica...
After applying Efudex to the scalp after a shower I experienced shortness of breath at about 3.00am in the morning. This is not recommended - I should apply it mid to late afternoon. I have had no further effects since doing this. Has anyone else experienced this? My doctor said I may be allergic to Efudex. I hope not. ## Hello Ern, Your doctor is absolutely right, nowhere on the efudex website or the NIH/FDA warnings does it say that shortness of breath is a common effect of administering this medication. It sounds very much like you are allergic to this medication and I strongly suggest that you have your doctor run some tests to verify if you are safe to administer this medication. It would be tragic to have your throat completely close up because you were administering this medicati...

hi i have been prescribed efudix for an ak on my cheek. i was give a leaflet which showed some really scary pictures of treatment, of course, when googled its even worse!! I wonder if anyone has used this on only a small patch on their face and if so did their whole face end up being affected as ii have read in some of the stories. has anyone not had any of the adverse side effects that the pictures show? ## My face has patches of dry skin on my forehead and on my chin is this cream good on face. And can it be used for vaginal itch or vaginal yeast infection. If it can be used on face and vagina how often should it be used on these areas? ## Hello June, Unfortunately it does seem to be that nearly all users experience the physical changes in their skin. I did do some research on how to ...
Why is hsi giving people the idea that it is a mircle drug, when it cures nothing? All that i see is that it does makes u fat and builds muscle. ## I have Breast and Brain cancer and I would like to know where you get H86? ## From what I've researched, HSI is a scam company. The coined term 'H86' is part of their marketing scheme. However, what it stands for (aka Avemar/Fermented Wheat Germ Extract) is apparently legitimate in that Fermented Wheat Germ has been proven to fight cancer; rather effectively at that: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20155632 The notion that all it does is make you fat and builds muscle is a misinformed representation from lack of research. For anyone who may be seeking Avemar, I'd recommend that you google it for a list of vendors. Something else wort...
My doctor started me on 400mg of megestrol to gain weight. Because of how quickly I gained, it was reduced to 80mg two months later. Could that change in dosage be the cause of clitoral atrophy? ## Hello Jessa, According to the National Institute of Health and their warnings associated with megestrol acetate I don't any warnings or adverse reaction listings that states this medicine causes clitoral atrophy, however, it does list decreased libido as a common side effect. My understanding is that clitoral atrophy is the decreased size and feeling of the clitoris which could be the result of hormonal imbalance and or restricted blood flow. Due to the fact that the megestrol is a synthetic hormone based drug it is possible that despite not being listed as a common side effect it could p...

I have been using Efudex on spots on chest, arms and legs for 2 months now. Most spots have blistered and turned into weeping sores, some have crusted up and turned into scabs. They are all extremely itchy, the itching drives me crazy when I’ve got these sores arms, chest, legs. Around Some sores that have scabbed over further red spots/lumps have come up surrounding the original sore, like it is spreading. My doctor told me to keep using Efudex until the sores have completely healed and disappeared, is this correct? Putting Efudex on the crusty sores usually stings like mad ## Hello Glyn, According to the medlineplus government page the instructions are as follows. [1] MedLinePlus Gov "If you are using fluorouracil to treat actinic or solar keratoses, you should continue usin...
Is Mylotarg by Wyeth Pharma available in the UAE? If so, what is the cost of 6 bottles? ## I have some questions to ask you. My child was given a shot containing pneumococcal 13-valent when she was 2 months old. Her doctor told me that the vaccine is Pfizer Inc, but the vaccine needle was found to be Wyeth Pharm. Inc. I want to know if this is the same thing? The vaccine LOT is T94430 and EXP 04/20, PAA053716. My child’s first vaccine is from Wyeth Pharm., so can the second vaccine be from Pfizer?
I have been on clinical trial 2 yrs for myelofibrosis and wanted to know if anyone's health insurance is paying for the drug in case the clinical trial ends? What is the approximate cost per month? I have seen it is around $7000 month on another website. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you. ## That is about the same estimated price that I am seeing listed everywhere, which is pretty normal for these types of medications, especially being this new. I've no information on insurances covering it, though. That would depend on the insurance and if it actually gets approval. Does anyone else have more information on this? ## Thanks for the reply. Its now approved for sale in the U.S. I am live in Ca. I use wall greens drug store. I checked with them its $4.400.00 without insuranc...
My wife is on tasigna for over a year now and has gad some moderate heart problems first a slim heart rate 50bpm then latter up to 170bpm. Not on the same day. But also a lot of unexplained pains. Dr says it's not tasigna but only started happening once started on them ## According to the U.S. FDA it can cause those types of symptoms as side effects. She may also experience nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, difficulty moving and loss of voice. How long will she be taking it? Does she take any other medications? ## I would check out all the lawsuits lately, it’s insane the conditions tasigna can cause! I reached out because of my own terrible side effects.
I want to know what this capsule is taken for and how to take it? After meals or before meals? ## How did your doctor instruct you to use it? While it can be taken orally, in most cases, this is inserted vaginally for better and faster absorption of the hormone. It can cause some side effects, such as: nausea, headache, vaginal bleeding and abdominal cramping. Hi, I've had abnormal/irregular periods since I started my periods. They've been on and off since day 1. I would go for months without any sign of bleeding or spotting. Three years back I would spot for weeks and after it would be a normal period; last year an unusual spotting started to come in a brown color. It went on for weeks as well. I then went to the nearest clinic n got famynor which stopped the spotting. In between the month of usage the spotting came back as periods and the famynor couldn't stop the bleeding, only to find a huge clot that came out and I thought my problem was solved. On that same week I went through my normal periods without any pain whatsoever but the bleeding was heavy at first n it just slowed as time went on. On the following month it was a us...
I had stage 3b subungual melanoma and after they did an amputation of my thumb and lymph nodes dissection, they lowered it to 2b, but when the results came back they said I'm cancer free yet still want me to take opdivo (nivolumab). Does anyone have any experience with this? ## That is normal, just in case some cancer cells were missed by the testing, most people are told to continue takint the relevant medication for a certain period of time. The FDA lists its most common side effects as possibly including nausea, fatigue, muscle/joint pain, and decreased appetite. There is also a warning regarding the possibility of severe inflammation of some organs of the body, they are immune mediated. Has anyone else been on this medication? Congrats on beating cancer! ## I’ve been on op...
After a bit of drilling down and reading I think I have found out what H-86 really is... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gleevec ## There are actually a few other discussion threads on this same topic that talk about H86 and how it works as a cancer treatment. However, I'm not sure if everyone is on the same page as far as what it really is. You can view each thread by visiting the links below: Discuss/h86-cancer-treatment-252777.htm Discuss/h-86-cancer-cure-250866.htm Discuss/h-86-cancer-cures-252713.htm By the way, have you also looked into CBD's from cannabis as a viable cure for cancer? Studies show that it's actually more effective than chemo, and without the side effects. So this might be something to consider researching as well. I hope this helps! ## This Product is called AVE...
what is the purpose of a gyno kit ? ## about gyno kit indications ## There are several reasons a gyno kit can be used, so it really depends on what has happened to necessitate the need for it. One type of gyno kit is used for testing purposes, it can test for abnormal cells that may signify the presence of cancer or take DNA samples if a possible rape has occurred. Another type of gyno kit is used to treat various conditions, such as infections or sexually transmitted diseases. Can you provide any more details? ## I've have had ulceration of the mouth (throat, palate, gums and under the tongue) for the last one year. Sometimes accompanied by ear ache eye ailment and rashes on my skin. I've been getting treatment almost weekly (at the onset) and a fortnight or monthly but haven...
I’m a 35 yr old female that had abnormal bleeding from PCOS and after a blood transfusion, put on megace to stop the bleeding. This was in July 2017. I’ve been running high fevers since October, non stop. Highest 103.0. I’ve been admitted and they’ve ran every test imaginable. Every test is coming back negative.Theyve rested me for Lyme, West Nile, meningitis, CT’s of Head, abdomen, pelvic, you name it, I’ve had it tested. I’m curious to know if Megace has given anyone else these “unexplained” fevers? I? have the doctors baffled, yet spoke with an oncologist today and think we might be on to this medication. Anyone else experience this? ## Yes, it has been known to cause fevers and hot flashes, according to FDA reports. Other side ef...
I have Fibromyalgia and my medicaid won't cover the Savella medicine I need. How do I get help in getting the madicine through the company who makes it?I am on limited income. ## I am very sorry about the problem you're having, however, the savings program for Savella is not available to those on government forms of insurance, only privately insured individuals. Have you consulted your doctor for assistance? They may have samples, or they might be able to suggest an alternative medication. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Savella as possibly including nausea, dizziness, anxiety, seizures and ear ringing.
My father is diagnosed with spinal comoression fracture, the mass possibly metastasized from prostate cancer. His doctor prescribed mosegor for something like sleeping or pain relief. Because he is suffering from pain and sleeplessness he is constantly requesting to take a capsule even after he had taken them. We refuse to give him outside the doctor's dosage of one capsule a day. Can we allow him to take say 2 to 3 capsules a day? Please reply... ## Mosegor Vita contains Pizotifen and a complex of B vitamins, it is most commonly used to treat or prevent migraines. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, drowsiness, and weight gain. No, his dosage should not be changed, without the approval of his medical provider.
