I've been taking Bupropion SR 150 mg made by Sandoz - successfully. My mail order Rx service arbitrarily changed me to one made by Anchin. I feel I'm spiraling down. can there be that much difference in brands? ## Hi KayS, I'm sorry to hear that the mail order Rx service changed your prescription without notice. I've heard of that happening to many others on the site, I can only imagine the frustration. If there is any difference between the pills, it would most likely just be the "inactive" ingredients that were used. That may or may not cause any issues- but if it does you will definitely want to talk to the Mail order service and a let them know what has happened. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Bupropion Details I hope my reply is helpful, ...

I am going to be bumped up to 300 mg of Bupropion. For the last several years have been good on 200mg SR. I have a problem with insomnia and am worried about a Bup. 300 XL being in my system at night. My insomnia was worse in the past when I took the Bup. in the afternoon, and better when taking in the morning. Problem is- I need to eat before I take the Bup. which is a large pill-the reasong being that I have a Zencker's diverticulum (moderate sized pocket/pouch in my esophagus. I Hate getting pills stuck in there for many obvious reasons. My mom takes Bup.300 XL from Par Pharmaceuticals. It's 5 times smaller ( roughly the size of a pea) that my 200 mg generic(roughly the size of a dime). Par does not make a 300mg SR. So here is my question-- 1) does anyone make a 200 mg SR? 2)...

I have been taking bupropion hcl 150 mg and my Dr has prescribed metoprolol succ er 50 mg is there a chance of interaction? ## Based on my research there are potentially unsafe drug interactions that apply to Metoprolol Succinate ER (metoprolol) and Bupropion. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Bupropion may increase the blood levels and effects of Metoprolol. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor if you experience increased side effects or your condition changes. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor." I hope this info helps to answer ...

My doctor has prescribed that I take Bupropian SR once a day (totaling 300 mg). This was after easing into the medication by taking Bupropian SR at only 150 mg for the first week. After three weeks at the full dosage (300 mg SR once a day), I was feeling like my best self. When I went to get a new script, he gave me the option of either staying on the SR (2 tablets once a day) or changing to 300 mg of the Bupropian XL. Since it seemed the same dosage, I decided to opt for one pill versus two. I've been on the XL for 12 days and feel like I've taken a serious backslide almost to my pre-medication low. It's hard to find any information on this topic since I know that SR is generally prescribed as a twice a day med. Is anyone familiar with a change in progress when moving from ...

I've been on on bupropion xl 150 mg for almost 1 year. During this time my depression has gotten worse. I attributed the decline in my mood and inability to cope to things happening in my life. Now I'm wondering if this generic form is the problem. Anyone else having these problems? ## There is also a chance that it may just not be the right medication for you to take. Not all of them work for everyone that tries them and some people become resistant to some fairly fast. Have you talked to your doctor about? You may need to try a different medication.

Take linsopril 5mg1a day bupropion sr 150mg 2a day zonisamide 100mg 4a day birth control 1a day. Lost close to 20 lbs befor linsopril, but haven't been on it a month yet. Seem to have stalled out. Weight is VERY important issue (please don't ask why :) any thoughts? Body need to adjust? Pain/ can't workout like used to ## How long have you been taking the birth control? The reason I'm asking is because if you've been on it for awhile and just recently started the Lisinopril for blood pressure elevation, there's a chance that the contraceptives are what's causing the elevation and you may not need to take another medication. There's a chance it could be resolved by just stopping the hormonal contraceptives. Depending on how high it is, you may need a blood...

weening off this antidepressant, i have been on it for 3 months. any one out there with exactly the same medicine? how many mg did u reduce it by and over what period of time. Thanks ## This type of information is probably best given by your doctor; only because the difference in dosages can affect each person differently. What might be a safe tapered-dose for one person could also end up being too drastic of a change for someone else. I would even ask your doctor to help you put together a tapering schedule (on a calendar), in order track your progress and keep you on the right path to completing your goal within a specific time frame. Without a way to track your progress, tapering can sometimes be much more difficult than it needs to be. I hope this advice helps!

Hello, I have been taking 450mg of Bupropion for about 5 or 6 years and my Psychiatrist thought it might be a good idea to lower the dosage to 300mg. What risks am I taking with this? What are some of the possible side effects? What are some other experiences that you have had with this drug?? I am just very worried because I always thought this was the drug that got me out of bed and really on top of things with depression. Now I am starting to wonder if it is frying my brain. Please help with any insight you might have! :D thanks. ## In my opinion, lowering the dose can potentially put your body at risk for a state of temporary withdrawal. Reason I say that is if you've been taking it for years and years, your body has probably become dependent on having that particular dose in yo...

Have been using Bupropian HCL XL 300 mg tabs for over 5 years. The markins have always been A102 from Anchen manufacturing. Now I received a M B9 pill fro Mylan pharma - which has alot of different ingredients than the other. I have had ZERO luck with taking different manufacturing products over the years. DOes anyone know where I can get a clear view on the difference in these pills . Drugs.com has the inactive ingredients. Called doctor also, but they are more of a try and see type. Anyone have issues with M B9 ## Well, unfortunately, your doctor is right, there's really no way to know how it may affect you, until you try it. Did you take any, yet? If you do have a problem with them, you can always ask your pharmacy if they can order the other ones back in for you. ## I have not t...

I was taking Bupropion 150 mg SR twice per day ( so i was taking a total of 300 mg per day). Then my Dr switched me to the bupropion HCL 150 mg XL once per day and said it was the same as taking 300 mg per day. It doesn't seem right to me. Any thoughts on why this makes sense? ## Your doctor may be referring to the notion that 150mgs of extended release Bupropion is similar to taking it twice per day; since it remains in your system for a much longer period of time. Perhaps it is still in your system by the time you would've previously taken your second dose. It's not 100% clear to me, but that's the only logical reasoning I can think of. They say if you take 150mgs of XL in the morning, then you shouldn't need to take anymore of it later in the day. Whereas with SR ...

My pharmacist substituted my Bupropion ER for Bupropion XL and said they were both the same. I'm afraid to take it until I'm assured both are one and the same medication ## Yes, they are the same. found this in the grammar school I work at. Do you know what it is? ## From what I've found, this tablet contains 100mgs of Bupropion in a time release formulation, it's a generic for Wellbutrin XR. It's an antidepressant that's also used to aid in smoking cessation. Learn more Bupropion details here. This one wouldn't be super dangerous, unless someone was allergic to it, but if it were me, I'd definitely want to make sure someone at the school was informed, so they could let people know to be more careful with their medications. Is there anything else I can help with?

I would like to slowly begin to stop taking the Bupropion, what is the best way to do that? I take 150 mg 1x daily ## You're on the time released formulation, so you can just cut or divide the pills, since that may cause you to get too much of the medication at once. Learn more Bupropion details here. Have you consulted your doctor? They may be able to prescribe a lower dose to enable you to taper off of it to minimize the rebound effects.
