I was prescribed .01mg of Clonidine for anxiety and impulse control. At no time did my doctor check my blood pressure or warn me that this medication is often used to significantly lower blood pressure. This is a problem for me since my blood pressure has always been dangerously low. I was told by a different doctor to stop it immediately since I have been passing out and always dizzy to the point where I can rarely see straight. So I stopped it on January 22, 2016 and I'm still having trouble. My question is simply, how long should it take for the Clonidine to get completely out of my body? I'm 23, 5 foot 6 and weigh 135lbs. I have been taking it for a little over 6 months. Any response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. ## Hello, Niki! How are you? After 6 months, it could ...

Im using fedaloc and cozaar and i beliewe that cozaar give me angiodema and some pharmasist ask me to go to a Dr for perscription for Pritorco and the said to me that pritor wil allso give angiodema0 ## Hello, Rika! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you've experienced. Generally, edema can be a side effect risk from all cardiac and blood pressure medications. As reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination. You just kind of have to try various ones, until you find which ones work for you, without causing such unwanted side effects. Did your doctor recommend anything else? ## Morning my Dr persccripe again prexim because of changing meds. But what im sitting know is lips feel slollen and pins and needles every day. F...

I wish you to tell me re: Dr. Reddys Amlodipine/Benazipril 2.5/10- what is in the small capsule inside the larger capsule- which is which. Please answer asap. ## I like to know the same thing? I take the 1020 mg and it has a pale pink capsule inside the ready 341 ## Unfortunately the manufacturer doesn't list specifics when it comes to these minute details. So in order to know for certain, one would essentially have to have the contents of the capsule analyzed by a lab and labeled thereafter. A pharmacist might have a clue based on proportions, however they'd probably be suspicious of drug abuse if you asked this type of question in person; because why else would someone want to know this information, unless they were taking the pill apart and experimenting? At any rate, I hope ...

Can I take this medications during the first trimester of my pregnancy? ## As of 2 days ago, I was diagnosed with hypertension and prescribed Lisinopril. I was concerned because I want to conceive in the very near future. My doctor advised that I should discontinue the medication BEFORE I get pregnant. To be on the safe side, I would talk to my doctor about alternatives during pregnancy. Good luck! ## NO!!!!!!! YOU CON NOT TAKE LISINOPRIL DURING PREGANCY BECAUSE IT IS AN ACE INHIBITOR IN OTHERS WORDS IT CAN DAMAGE YOUR BABY MAIN ORGANS AT THAT TIME YOU BECOME PREGANT YOUR DOCTOR SHOULD PUT YOU ON METHYLDOPA 250MG ## There are consequences to taking any drug during pregnancy, even 'over the counter' drugs, and even ones like Tylenol, that your doctor might call 'safe' dur...

I started to take it in January '16 ,after one month had joint pain and muscle pain all over my body, after two months rash on my entire body ,but face.Dermatology biopsy said that I had ofuji rash.I stopped to take it on March'16 still have muscle and joint pain all over my body.Stay away from it!!! ## Hello, Andy! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you've had. The joint and muscle pain can be normal side effects of this medication and has caused many people to have to stop taking it. It can also cause dizziness, hair loss and increased urination, as reported by the FDA. It made me very miserable, when I tried it and I had to stop taking it, too. That rash, however, isn't listed, though it has been known to cause a general rash, with itching. What medication d...

I was prescribed metoprolol succinate ER 25 because I get irregular heartbeat sometimes in which they said may be PVCs. It normally Happens if I have caffeine or anxiety. He said I can cut in half to start off because I am worried it will lower my blood pressure, normally it runs a little low about 100-110/ 60s ... Any advice ? I want to try it but nervous my bp will fall. ## If your doctor said you can start with half, then that may be a good idea. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hair loss. Avoiding caffeine would be easy, but unfortunately, anxiety can't be avoided so easily. As to your blood pressure falling, it's not a worry, unless it causes you problems, such as nausea, diz...

I have been on clonidine now for approx 10 months, for high blood pressure. The doctors had tried several other medications but I had so many reactions and issues we decided that the clonidine patch would work best and it has. Yes there is some fatigue and some up and down numbers but in general I have done well. MY BP was all stress related , no non medical reason. So in the past couple of months have been able to alleviate most of the stress (refinance) and I started 500mg magnesium daily and within a month my BP is getting lower and lower and lower. I was wearing 4mg of clonidine and taking (2) 1mg pills during the day as needed. Now I am down to only 2mg a day and still my BP is staying below 115/64 which is vampire state for me. (my numbers were up in the 180/100 range) soooooooooo...

Each 20mgs of Benicar is equivalent to 50mgs of Losartan. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello. I started taking 20mg propranolol immediate release for migraines 3 times daily. This was working perfectly for my migraines. My doctor decided to change my medication to the extended release propranolol 60mg once daily, reason being she said it would be more convenient for me. As soon as I started the extended release my migraines came back. Why would this happen if it's the same medication and what should I do? ## Hello, Christina! How are you? Has there been any change? The time released is slowly released throughout the day, so you might not be getting enough, at once, to stave off your migraines. The full dose of the regular release is usually working within 15 to 20 minutes of taking it, so that might be why it worked better for you. Have you asked him about going back ...

Are the Clonidine U-135 pill the same as the Clonidine R-127?? I got them from two different doctors and I wasn't sure if they were the same. They have a different taste. The u-135 are white ovals and are tasteless and the round orange R-127 have a horrible taste. ## Yes, they have just been manufactured by different companies, in this case Unichem Pharmaceuticals and Actavis respectively. The taste can just vary, depending on the inactive ingredients they choose to use in them. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hypotension, mood changes, tiredness and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've taken metoprolol Succ Tb 100Mg ER for a few year from Mylan. Now I'm taking the same from PAR. I've started getting a lot of palpitation. Could this by the reason? ## Hello, Evelyn! How are you? It is difficult to say, there can be fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient from one generic to another and adjusting to a slightly different dosage could result in your experiencing palpitations. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, increased urination and headache. However, it would be best to have yourself checked out by your doctor to be sure of what's going on. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am taking exforge. But BP was still around 145/155 over 60. HR Pulse around 65. Dr put me on 5mg of Bystolic 3 days ago which lowered BP to 125 avg. over 60 but lowered my HR to 52/58 range. I usually go on 2-3 mile but now get breathless when walking or working in the yard. Is this a temporary side effect and should I be concerned. ## Hello, Chuck! How are you? Has there been any change? Yes, if you're experiencing symptoms, you should consult your doctor, you may need to switch to a different medication. Other side effects, as reported by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination.

Is this peach colored pill the same as the white one marked E 152? ## Hello, Ellen! How are you? The dosages are different. Sandoz Pharmaceuticals lists the tablet with the 152 on it as containing 12.5mgs of Hydrochlorothiazide and 20mgs of Lisinopril, while they list the one with the 173 on it as containing 25mgs of Hydrochlorothiazide and 20mgs of Losartan. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, dehydration and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

What is the difference between Losartan HCTZ 100/12.5, white pill, 1117 on one side and blank on the other side, and Hyzar 100/12.5? ## Both of the pills in question are one in the same drug. The only difference I noticed is that they are different brands/generics manufactured by different companies. Because of this, there may be a slight variation of inactive ingredients; but other than that you can be assured that they are the same drug and same dosage. Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. Because everyone is different, your body may respond favorably with one medication and not the other, due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselve...

I'm on lopressor and cozaar, is safe to takethem at the same together, lopressor is 50mgs and cozaar is 50mgs ## Hello, Katrina! How are you? Yes, you can take them together, or a couple hours apart, unless your doctor specifics otherwise. When multiple blood pressure and cardiac medicines are prescribed, most doctors do instruct them to be taken together, that way it's easier for someone to remember to take them, so they don't miss any doses. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have taken generic hyzaar for years.for the past 4years I've taken losartan potassium HCTZ 100-25 mfr by SANDOZ. They 2 days ago I got my refill and it was a different color pill and made by NORTHSTAR rx. Two days of taking them and my BP goes up to 154/122! Holy crap! My norm is 120/80. Has this medicine acted like this for other people? ## Hello, Vicki! How are you? Has there been any change? There can be fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient in generic medications, as allowed by the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984. Thus, this one may not be as potent as the one you were taking. The 122 is concerning and you should have this checked out, if it's still going that high, as your doctor may need to prescribe a different medication. ## They changed my meds back to the orig...
