I just started taking Coreg CR and I have had a sore throat for two days. Has anyone had this happen to them? ## This is a very common side effect when you start taking the medication. Blood pressure meds are not recreational drugs. You could kill yourself. If you want your feet to swell and heart to stop, well sounds like a risky buzz to me if any. I have taken it for months now and I assure you, no opiate type effects. Your blood pressure will drop, might make you dizzy but no fun there and too much can kill you. My advice to you my friend is this: Don't play with this med. It is for cardiac patients with serious needs to help control heart. A fine line here. As far as getting buzzed on pills, man, leave it alone.

However, it is far more dangerous to let your blood pressure raise out of control, than it is to take the medication, since severely elevated blood pressure could cause heart attack, stroke, or congestive heart failure. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. You should take it, as long as your doctor instructs you to do so. high pertensition drug ## I have been taking this medication for years, but in Canada, the drug store, does not know what it is. is there a generic North american name for it? ## side effects of bezide tablets and what are they for? ## Sorry, since this is not from the US, I am unable to find any information on it, or what our equivelent for it would be. Drugs from other countries, even Canada, just aren't as regulated as the ones we have available in the US. ## Bezide is used to treat hypertension and not high pertension.
