Is a c74 the same as azor? Is it ok for someone that is age 90+ with kidney failure and diabetes to take this pill? ## No, they are different medications, the tablet with the C 74 marking is manufactured by Aurbindo Pharma and they list it as containing 50mgs of Metoprolol, which is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. There can be risks to taking it, but you would be at much great risk if you let high blood pressure, or a heart condition go untreated, so you should take the medication, if your doctor has instructed you to do so. Can you take Renexa and Metoprolol tartrate 25 mg together? ## They can be taken together, if they have both been prescribed for you, but the Ranexa may increase the effects of the Metoprolol, so you may need a dosage adjustment and your doctor should be monitoring you regularly to watch for any problems, as warned by the NIH. I picked it up with damp hands and the pink coloring came away ## Hi should be propranolol 10mg, the ones with c on one side and p/b on the other are the 40mg tablets. Don't take it if you are unsure, but it sounds like propranolol. Propranolol is a beta blocker that can be used in the treatment of migraines, anxiety, and alternative problems

Amlodipine is known to cause erectile dysfunction. What is an alternative drug that does not do this? Thanks. ## Hello, Jim! How are you? Not everyone experiences this side effect, according to the FDA, so there is no way of knowing if it will cause you to experience ED. Additionally, it is a potential side effect for all blood pressure/cardiac medications, so there isn't any that can be guaranteed not to cause it. The best thing to do is to try the medication you've been prescribed, and if it does cause problems, inform your doctor and ask about trying an alternative medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

Should I take losartan potassium 25 mg at night or in the mornings? It makes me very sleepy and my doctor didn't specify but my pharmacist said to take it in the morning. ## Yes, it is usually taken in the morning, so it can help control your blood pressure and heart rate, during the times of day where you will be most active and may experience the most fluctuations, according to the FDA. How long have you been taking it? Most side effects are transient and will go away, once your body gets used to a medication, but that could take 4 to 5 weeks. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination.

I was just prescribed this 1x/day to treat palpitations that I frequently get after a meal. Not necessarily the increased heart rate type of palps, but more so the being able to feel every beat in my chest type of palps. What concerns me is that my sleeping heart rate is normally 48-51 and my normal blood pressure often dips to 90s/50s and on the rare occasion can fall to the high 80s/40s. I have never fainted due to low bp, but have often gotten lightheaded upon standing. With starting numbers as low as these, would it be unsafe to start taking this drug? ## Hello, Joe! How are you doing? Have you started taking it, yet? If so, what has occurred? It is odd that this would be prescribed for palpitations that only occur after a meal, since that can be a normal thing for some people due t...
