My family physician (MD Internal Med.) is of the opinion that all the above medicines for PP is causing adverse effects on my Kidney and according to him I should take only two tabs for controlling BP and those are Coversyl plus HD 8mg (morning) n tab Natrilum 10mg (night). I want ur opinion.
UpdatedI never had side effects until they switched manufacturers. Now I have severe bloating. Was wonder if anyone else experienced this? ## That can sometimes be a side effect of this medication, according to NIH reports. It can also cause nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. However, since this symptom does have the potential to cause congestive heart failure, so it would be best to consult your doctor. You may need to take a medication to reduce the fluid and keep you out of danger. Are you on any other medications?
I have had 2 ferritin iron infusions one week after another. 2 days later after the second one I was very dizzy upon standing and my pressure went very low for me. That was 3 weeks ago. I now have low blood pressure all the time, from high blood pressure that I had for 8 years. Off blood pressure meds, having things with salt. Cardiologist can't find an explanation unless it's the infusion that caused this. At wits end. Anybody ever hear of this ? Hematologist insists it's not infusion after so long. ## Yes, the NIH and the FDA both list blood pressure changes as being possible side effects, additionally, it is also well known that some people never stop experiencing them, after receiving such infusions. I have talked to many other people that have experienced serious issues...
I use to take lopressor, the long pink pill. They switched me to metoprolol succinate 2 yrs ago. I liked the brand name lopressor better as it had no side effects and kept my blood pressure down. The insurance company said they stopped making the original lopressor then. But now I heard they are back on the market. Does anyone know this answer? ## From what I can tell, it is still available, but that doesn't necessarily mean that your insurance will cover it for you, since the generics are usually cheaper. What type of side effects have you been experiencing? The FDA lists the typical ones as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. How long have you been taking your current dosage? You may need a dosage adjustment, or to try a different ...
I filled my prescription 3 days after the doctor wrote it. It has a refill. Can I get my refill based on the written date or the fill date? The script was written on 6/9 with 1 refill after 7 days and the script was filled on 6/13. Can I get my refill on 6/15 or 6/19? ## No, the pharmacy will keep track and will not fill it according to the old schedule, they will go by the fill date, since you shouldn't be out, yet. Under current FDA and DEA guidelines, exceptions can usually be made for medications that are not considered dangerous, or habit forming, such as heart medications, or blood pressure medications, but even the final decision on that is up to your pharmacist. What medication as prescribed?
Is it possible to have side effects from hydralazine from one manufacturer and not from another? Within a couple of hours, I felt dizzy and nauseous after taking the same dose (100 mg), but different manufacturers of hydralazine! ## Yes, under the Hatch Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20% of the active ingredient. They also do not have to measure against each other, just the name brand. Thus, it is possible to receive another generic that is higher, or lower in the active ingredient than a different one you were taking, which could cause you to experience withdrawal symptoms, or new side effects. What are the markings on the new one that you've received? Can you please post back with these details? That would enable ...
I found this pill in my step daughter's room and I want to know what I'm dealing with? ## This tablet is manufactured by Lupin Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 5mgs of Lisinopril, which is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?
I have some pills that I think are Lisinopril, but I'm not sure. Something spilled on the label and it has faded away. They are yellow and plain on one side and have a line for splitting across the middle on the other side. That is not much to go by. ## A Lisinopril tablet that is available to be prescribed in the U.S. would have some type of imprint on it, they are all required, by law, to have imprints to enable their identification. If it has no imprint, whatsoever, then the likelihood is greatest that it is something that's available over the counter. Do you have any idea of approximately how old they are? ## I figured that my brother put an antihistamine in one of my older bottles. It is an otc. ## I GET MY A CRIPTS FRM V.A. THEYSENT ME A NEW SCRIPT FOR LISINOPRILIT IS 40MG...

I had been on Micardis 40 plus for several years and then put on Micardis 80+ for around 2yrs; started to have lots of issues with bp being all over the place and dizzy, tired etc. face flushed, full feeling at any sign of stress. My doctor has put me on the lowest dose of Coveram 5/5 and I am wondering what I can expect initially as Micardis was a different type of blood pressure medication? Many thanks. ## Hello, Sue! I was wondering if it's ok to take five 50 mg of metoprolol succinate er to get 250mg? Hello, I've been on ramipril for approx 18 years. First 5 mg, then 10 mg; 5 in the a.m. & 5 in the p.m. (When they switched me to generic, 5 mg once a day was just not enough.) For the past few years, I've had a tickling cough at night, so I usually take a cough drop at bedtime so it doesn't wake me up as I doze off to sleep. Do you think this is caused by the Ramipril? Also, can ramipril cause hair loss? ## Are you on any other medications? As to your questions, yes the U.S. FDA warns that it has been known to cause both issues as side effects, in some people that take it. You may also experience dizziness, headache, increased urination, and orthostatic hypotension. Have you informed your doctor? You may need to try a different medication.
can i break the tablet in half ## I have been taking 10 mg of propranolol twice a day. My heartrate was around 52-70 and I was feeling like I had no energy most of the time. I have been breaking the tablets in half and I am taking a half a tablet twice a day but at times my heartrate is around 100-110 and I am feeling anxious. Should i be concerned? ## I certainly hope Jen found an answer to her question, or consulted her doctor. As to her heart rate issues, the 52 to 70 really isn't a concern, that's fairly close to normal, the normal resting rate for an adult is 60 to 100, so the 52 isn't severely low and the 70 is right in the proper range. ….some well trained athletes may have a heart rate of only 40 or so, at rest, because they are in top shape and the...

What would cause high blood pressure to come on just in the last two months? Nothing has changed in my diet, everything is the same. Seems like I've been clenching my jaws too and it gives me a headache. ## It is very hard to say, there are many reasons, according to the NIH, including stress, medications, and genetics. Is your diet high in fat and sodium/salt? Both can contribute to a gradual increase in blood pressure. How high was it found to be? Do you take any medications regularly? ## Stress will drive your BP up quickly. Has your stress level increased?

Is it safe to cut my losartan 50 mg in half when the pill is not scored? Pharmacy said I will not be getting even distribution with each half but I want to know your experiences... ## There shouldn't be a problem, part of pill manufacturing is making sure the medication is evenly suspended throughout, my doctor approves of my doing so and it's prescribed for me directly from cardiology for heart function. However, there are 50mg tablets that you can get that are scored and they should provide you with them, if your doctor writes your prescription as you needing to cut the tablets. There will always be a slight variance between doses, because no cut is absolutely precise, but it is usually not significant. I actually have one here, now, that is manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma, i...
