Hi my husband is on various medications for blood pressure which is normally very high but with the medication it was 140 over 89 I take 50mg a day with other medication but have taken 200mg by mistake on top of the other medication. Is this okay for the one time?

I have been diagnosed with Lichen Planus (skin disease). I also have high blood pressure for which I have been taking Amlong 10mg in the morning and Telma 20mg post dinner for the last 7 years. Recently, my doctor has told me to take an alternative medicine to Amlong 10mg since this medicine has side effects that include skin rashes, etc. Please advise whether it's ok to have Stamlo 10mg as a substitute? ## They both contain the same active ingredient, so it isn't likely that switching will change the side effects that you are experiencing. my doctor changed Benicar 20 to valsartan 160 is that right? ## Hello, Maggie! How are you? Was your blood pressure still not under control? That 160mgs of Valsartan daily is actually equivalent to 40mgs of Benicar daily. I am 47, weigh 70kg, am type 2 diabetic and have been taking Galvus Met 1000mg for my diabetic condition along with Bilocor 5mg & Co Exforge 5mg/160mg/12.5mg for the past 4 years. However, my blood pressure does not want to come down. My average BP is 180/90. What can be the cause? My medication? ## It is most likely that it is due to the diabetes, and not the medications. I have osteoarthritis.i had knee pain . So the doctor prescribed me nucoxia sp twice a day for 10 days.i am a bp patient and under medication. I take olmetrack H 20mg once. I have been taking Lisiniprol 10 mg 1 tab per day for the past 4 yrs and BP has been quite normal, so yes it does work. Like any other drug watch closely and see your doctor if you notice any harsh side effects. I would say for me yes I do get the cough on and off, dry tickle, cough, cough. It's annoying but I don't know if it's enough to stop taking it as it seems to be working well otherwise. I do however worry about the long term use (if it's OK) and if I were to stop I have read that it's not a good idea to stop cold turkey, any suggestions of how to stop, perhaps I should consult with Doctor?? I've been taking it for about three months. My hair started falling out and now I have to stop taking it. They say that if blood pressure isn't lowered by taking hyzaar 50/12.5 mgs once a day, then upping the dosage to hyzaar 100/12.5 mgs will not make much of a difference... Is that true? ## It really depends, if it doesn't work, at all, that can be true and the person will most likely need to try a different medication. If it helps some, but doesn't take it down to the ideal level, then a higher dose could help. I experienced this, when I first started Labetalol, the initial dose of 100mgs did help, but I wasn't at the best numbers, so we took it up to 200mgs and now it works very well for me. However, I've also had others I tried that did nothing, so my cardiologist didn't think it was worth trying higher doses, since they just didn't seem to work for me. The ...

Have been taking lisinopril, 1st was 10mg, then increased to 20Mg, and last year decreased to 10mg. Mid last year diagnosed with Lymphoma stage 3, and began chemo rchop, through out treatment I felt weak, and 3 months after treatment still weak, dr said ok, but it got worse, could hardly stand up. About 4-5 months ago, I took some turmeric, ginger tea (seen in Dr Oz) and 2 days later developed heaviness in left leg and the numbness I had got worse. Then recently, increased Vitamin D3 from 1000 to 2000 per Dr advice and are getting dizzy constantly. I checked internet, so I stopped both immediately about 2 weeks ago. I took my metoprolol 100mg at 8am and forgot that I took it and subsequently took it again at 9:15pm. Is this dangerous? I also take lisinopril 25mg. ## Generally, doing so just once is not dangerous, according to FDA instructions, but it is always best to check with your doctor to be sure.
