I have been taking Nebivolol 2.5 mg for 10 years to control hypertension. Can it cause cough which is persisting despite treatment. My physician says beta blockers at times cause chronic cough which goes if this medication is stopped and alternative medication taken for high BP. Is it just another drug that I'll be physically addicted to? ## It's really hard to say, since we are all different, so much of it depends on you and your metabolism. Ok, is the yellow losartan pill 25 mg or 100 mg? Kind of confusing. Is this a high dosage or a low dosage? Thanks, David ## Is that the complete marking? Can you please post back and clarify? Is the marking E 49? If so this tablet is listed by Aurobindo Pharma as containing 25mgs of Hydrocholorothiazide and 100mgs of Losartan. It is used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, dehydration, and hypotension. Thus, it is actually neither, since it s a combination medication that contains 2 active ingredients, in different dosages.
My Dr. in the US has prescribed Hydralazine-only, without any combination of meds. In India where I have come from, Apresol tablets contain hydrochloride also. What does hydrochloride do? Can I take Apresol safely as an alternative to Hydralazine? If not, what Indian drug is equivalent to Hydralazine? ## The Hydrochloride is not actually an additional ingredient. It just designates the specific chemical salt the medication was derived from, according to NIH reports. Thus, it is really the same medication. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking Coveram 5/5 for some time now and had my blood pressure checked about 3 weeks ago (for an insurance that I was taking out). My blood pressure was 85/60 which I believe is very low. I have since stopped taking the Coveram as I was afraid that it was causing my blood pressure to drop too much. I had also been taking a product called Stress-Away (made by TIBB) and wonder if this might have caused this reaction. Since that very low reading, i have also stopped taking the Stress-Away tablets and have felt no ill effects from the lack of either tablet. I am a little concerned about this and was wondering if I am doing any damage to my system. ## Rather than stopping the medication, it would have been better to speak to your doctor, since letting your condition continue untr...
I've been taking losartan 50mg and lately I've noticed that I have difficulty remembering. Is it possible that the losartan is causing short term memory loss? ## Yes, there is a possibility, though that is not a normal side effect, according to FDA reports. They typically include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Are you on any other medications? ## I take 12.5 to 25 mg when needed and noticed memory impairment in April 2016. When I reported it to cardiologist and associates, they said they were unaware. I also noticed other side effects as well. I plan to discontinue because things seem progressively worse.

Is it harmful to take double dose of Abisart (Irbersartan150mg) to lower my blood pressure? I suffer from white coat syndrome and need to do a work related medical. I fear that I might lose my job, and I suffer from hypertension. ## You should not take more than your doctor has prescribed. The NIH warns that taking more might result in dangerously lowered blood pressure and heart rate levels. It would be best to take the medication, as you should, and make sure they know of the issues you are suffering from, and that they can receive confirmation from your doctor. What type of job do you do?
Can you cut it in half? New to med. Noon dose still has heart rate in low 50s and will soon be time to take again. Last night was unnerving with low heart rate and breathing. I am asking cardiologist to reduce dose tomorrow but worried about tonight. ## It could be that it is too high of a dose for you, since the FDA lists that as being a known side effect of taking too much. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. What did your cardiologist recommend?
