Can I take Losartin rather than Avalide. ## Avalide is actually a combination medication, it contains the ARB Irbesartan and the diuretic Hydrochlorothiazide. Losartan is currently the only generic ARB available on the U.S. market, however, you would also need the Hydrochlorothiazide, which is also available as a generic. You may want to check with your pharmacy to see which is cheaper to purchase, the two as separate generics or the Avalide. Are there any questions or comments?

The marking makes me suspect that it's an over the counter product. Does anyone recognize this? ## If it's white to off-white, biconvex and oval shaped with a heart debossed on one side and the number 2873 engraved on the other, it's Aprovel 300mg which contains 300mg irbesartan. Used to treat high blood pressure.
