Can I take Losartin rather than Avalide. ## Avalide is actually a combination medication, it contains the ARB Irbesartan and the diuretic Hydrochlorothiazide. Losartan is currently the only generic ARB available on the U.S. market, however, you would also need the Hydrochlorothiazide, which is also available as a generic.
