Substitute Losartin For Avalide

Can I take Losartin rather than Avalide.

Avalide is actually a combination medication, it contains the ARB Irbesartan and the diuretic Hydrochlorothiazide.

Losartan is currently the only generic ARB available on the U.S. market, however, you would also need the Hydrochlorothiazide, which is also available as a generic.

You may want to check with your pharmacy to see which is cheaper to purchase, the two as separate generics or the Avalide.
