I've been on 5mg Lisinopril for almost 3 months and have lost 6-8 lbs. without trying. I was only about 180lbs. to begin with. Will the weight loss eventually stop or should I stop the medication? Thanks....Tony ## Lisinopril is most commonly used to help lower blood pressure. Have you spoken to your doctor about this, yet? The weight loss is not considered a normal side effect, but a rare and unusual one. Normally, most side effects start to wear off in 4 to 6 weeks of use. It's very important to involve your doctor in the decision you make about the drug, since the weight loss could also be caused by something else. ## Thank you for your reply. Rest assured I am not stopping or changing any meds without consulting my doc. Tony

how long can we use this drug for treating hypertension ## I'm no doctor, but I am aware that with any of these prescription drugs, you will have to eventually cycle off of them for roughly a week after long term use to avoid building up a tolerance. May I suggest looking into some natural alternatives that don't have side effects or a need to cycle on and off? Try checking out certain 100% pure therapeutic grade Essential Oils. I personally used to have hypertension pretty bad, with doctors always surprised to see such high numbers; but over the past year I've been using some of these oils and changed my diet substantially and have normal blood pressure. Just wanted to offer my opinion and hope it may be of use. Please post back if you have any questions or comments about t...

After 2 hours of taking this medication i get drowsy, my legs and feet. I can barely pick up my feet to go out to the mailbox. I also have a loss of appetite. ## This tablet contains the active ingredients Atenolol and Chlorthalidone, it is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and other cardiac diseases. Have you been carefully monitoring your fluid intake? The Chlorthalidone is a diuretic, which helps remove water from the body, to lower sodium build-up, which can contribute to high blood pressure, because one feeds off the other. High sodium leads to fluid build-up, fluid build-up increases the build-up of sodium, so it is kind of a vicious cycle. If you aren't taking in enough fluids, then you might be dehydrated and the symptoms you mentioned can occur if you are. Ano...
