I have been taking metoprolol for prehypertension with a dosage amount of 25mg for 2 years and just had open heart surgery for aortic anuerysm. I have now been prescibed an encrease of metoprolol of 100mg a day. Have put on 12 to 15 pounds since taking 100mg 2 months ago. Started to loose my hair after it had grown back after chemo from my cancer. I would like to know if there is something else that I could take.I just gained 2 lbs in 1day HELP! ## Hello, Joyce! I take bystolic 2.5 Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Heart rate in 50s but always has been. Keeps hbp stable. My question is , is it safe to exercise as I can't seem to get heart rate high on. The doctor wants to change me to Diovan and Hydrochlorothiazide. I am currently on Lisinopril 40mg. I am afraid to change. I am allergic to sulfa drugs. I have had a cold/flu for about 2 months and he thinks Lisinopril may be causing the cough. (this is a new doctor to me). I have been on Lisinopril for 10 years and have had no problems. My doctor gave me a month to get my blood pressure down - it was 150/95. I tried my best - eliminated salt, exercised like crazy - it was still high when I went back to him so he gave me this med. I felt nothing for the first week or so on it now I'm getting insane nausea. I can't eat. I lost 4 lbs last week. Food just makes me more sick. Coincidentally, each time I checked my own bp at the pharmacy or had the trainer do it at my gym it was 115/90 - not that bad. But he insisted that I needed something. I was recently prescribed propranolol, 10 mg, as needed for performance anxiety. Took it before a presentation I had to give two nights ago and it helped. The performance went really well. The next day, something strange happened. I began having a panic attack in a restaurant. (I had one full-blown panic attack about 9 years ago and one near panic attack about 4 years ago, and these were both while I was having other significant issues in my life. Hi, I am pregnant and on blood pressure medication to regulate my high blood pressure. I recently heard that since I'm pregnant and on blood pressure medication I should also be on blood thinners to prevent a blood clot. Is this true? ## I have never heard of such a thing, as a matter of fact, from what I've read in pregnancy information, most women are just on a blood pressure medication, such as Labetalol and nothing else. Many of them have blood thinning properties of their own, so another blood thinner is rarely necessary, unless there is some other underlying condition, such as a clotting disorder, prior stroke, or etc. What has your doctor advised?

RUN AWAY! Or have your doctor change your prescription. I took Dr. Reddy's metoprolol because my new insurance wouldn't pay for the brand I had been taking for 5 years. 6 weeks of waking up everyday with red and swollen feet, achy left pectoral region, a 2x increase in my dress size, and a voracious appetite made me stop my use of it and pay out of pocket for the brand. lil round, white pill on one side has 516 and the other side is L and V and that half is scored what is this ## That is actually that logo for the Andrx pharmaceutical company, this tablet contains 5mgs of Benazepril, a generic for Lotensin. This is used to help lower blood pressure. Some of the most common side effects include: headache, dizziness, nausea and edema. ## I have another half pill to identify with your help. I am only able to discern that it is sea-foom green, edging to white. The fron side, I can read IP on top nd the the first two digits of the secnd lin are 20. My little dog ate a benazepril (heart tablet) meant for the older dog, she weighs about 30 lbs, will she be ok (she ate 10 mg) ## In case it makes any difference, she is a whippet ## How is she doing?
