SOMETIMES AT NIGHT MY PRESSURE WILL SKYROCKET TO ABOUT 235/105. I DOUBLE DOSE MY MEDS BUT IT STILL TAKES AROUND 3-4 HOURS TO GET IT DOWN; NOT LOW BUT LIVABLE. I TAKE CLONIDINE .02 LOSARTAN 100 MG AND SOMETIMES AMLODIPINE 5 MG. ## Actually, the only thing bringing it down after 3 to 4 hours is time, not the medications. These medications don't work like that to bring it down that fast, they take time to work, which requires consistent dosing for 4 to 6 weeks to have an effect, occasionally doubling up, just when it spikes does nothing. Have you consulted your doctor about the spikes? What are you doing that may make it elevate like that? You most likely need a med adjustment in the evening, which will probably be a higher dosage of one of them. One that you could ask your doctor abou...

I just lost my wife to Azor. She did not die but decided to leave me because i would not get her any more. She was taking about 20 to 30 a day.. Zopax, Azor, and a whole list of other anti-depressants will take your life away from you... You will get addicted to them. My advice is to stay away from it and make sure your loved ones do to...

Have been taking levatol 20mg for 12years , BP is still kinda high, tried olive leaf extract and it brought it down. Can I use olive leaf extract and levatol instead of changing my medication? I would really like to try this first, since it seems to work. my question is ----is it safe to take levatol (20mg) with olive leaf extract . ( for the record, I am 77yrs old and in very good health,.levatol is the only medication I have ever taken and don't want to change it,I eventually want to taper down to 3 or 4 days a week but I know that it takes time and I want to start with this first, ## Hello, June! How are you? The main issue with adding the olive leaf extract is that it may make your blood pressure go too low, so you do need to be very careful and should only use it, if your docto...

Trying to read the above submission shown in the search engine but can't find it in your entries ## Just to confirm, I ran a search for you and there are no threads with such a title existing on this site. However if you're trying to find a post based on information within someone's "description" and not the "title of the thread", I don't think there's a way for you to zone in on that specifically. But what I can tell you is that it's more than likely related to side effects from "5mg Amlodipine besylate tablets marked with Z3" - as this is the only relevant match. Sometimes search engines like google don't completely correlate the information to a specific link/location where it may be found; which I agree can be frustrating at times....

I AM TAKING HIGH BLOOD PRESSUE MEDICINE AND I WANT TO CAN I USED LEMON BALM TO HELP ME SLEEP ## Hello, Vera! How are you? Lemon Balm is actually said to help with high blood pressure, especially that caused by stress, so in that respect it's fine. However, what medications do you take? I can't check for any possible interactions or problems, without knowing the specific ones you take. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you! ## HEY VERMON I AM TAKING TELMISARTAN TABLET 40mg I TAKE HALF BECAUSE TAKING THE WHOLE MAKE MY HEAD HURT SO THANK YOU FOR GETTING BACK TO ME. ## Yes, headaches can be a normal side effect of Telmisartan, along with nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, hypotension and increased urination. However, you should take the whole dose as prescribed by your docto...

I was informed I have to change my blood pressure med. to a drug that comes in generic form. Will no longer fill my Bystolic 10mg.Gave my physician a list of meds. to change for me. Have taken Bystolic for several yrs. So now I'm concerned! Will try Coreg. Any advice or warnings on Coreg? So unfair- thanks Express Scripts for deciding just to play around with my meds. Wish I could afford to pay for Bystolic but nope. ## Hello, Patsy! How are you? I took the generic for Coreg, Carvedilol, for several years and it's known to cause less side effects than most others. The main warning I have is to watch for Raynaud's Phenomenon in cold weather. It tends to cause it in some people or worsen it in those of us that already have it and that was the biggest problem I had with taking i...

I have oval peach/pink lisinopril with the number 101 and what looks like the letter Get on them, I would like to know what dosage they are. ## Hi Sheila, From the Lisinopril images online, I'm seeing an oval peach/pinkish tablet with a strange looking italicized "E" sitting to the left of "101" imprinted on one side of the pill and blank on the other. Is this what you're describing as well? If so, it's reported to be a 10mg Lisinopril tablet, manufactured by Sandoz. I hope this helps! Please post back though if you believe it to be something else.

Side affects. Of losartan-hctz 100-25 mg tab metoprolol. Tartrate 5pmg and adipex. 37.5 mg ## Hello, Anna! How are you? If you're taking it for high blood pressure, you might not be able to take Adipex, because it is a stimulant that can cause elevated blood pressure and heart rate, which may put you in danger. It can also cause other side effects, such as nervousness, insomnia, dizziness, headache, irritability and carries the risk of being habit forming. There are no interactions or problems listed between these two medications, that I can find, but I strongly urge you to check with your doctor, before taking the Adipex to make sure that it is safe for you to do so. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on 50 mg Losartan for 6 months and just don't feel that great. I got my BP taken at the doctor today and it was 150/64. I asked about changing to Atacand ,and she put me on 16 mg, starting tomorrow. I'm to go back to get my BP taken in 2 weeks. Is 16 mg a good dosage to start with? Will Atacand be better than Losartan? Should I worry about side effects, and if so, what is most common? I got the impression the doctor was indulging me..she certainly didn't agree the Losartan could be causing my foot and ankle pains. ## Hello, CJ! How are you? Oh yes, it certainly could have been causing those pains. Some people do experience that with some of these cardiac medications. Atacand contains the active ingredient Candesartan, so it is also an ARB. Generally, 8mgs of it e...

I was taking Avalide 300/25. It became unavailable and I was switched to Losartan 100/25. Is this the same dosage? Also what color are the Losartan suppose to be. My Losartan are yellow but I also read were they are suppose to be white. ## Hello, CT! How are you? Yes, the Losartan is stronger than the Irbesartan in the Avalide, so this is an equivalent dosage. And since this is a generic, it is actually available in both yellow and white. Typical side effects to this medication may include nausea, easier bruising, headache, dehydration and increased urination. Is there anything else I can help with?

This tablet is listed as containing 40mgs of Lisinopril, which is an ACE inhibitor that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. I recently had a bad reaction to Lisinoprill, Angioedema Edema. I just started taking 5 mg of Bystolic, I monitor my bp and it went from an average of 142/76, to 170/86, also my pulse rate went from 66 to 45 on average. Only been on this for 3 days now. Thinking of stopping. Anyone have similar reaction? ## Hello, Patrick! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. You might be experiencing a bit of a rebound effect from going off of the Lisinopril and switching to the Bystolic, it could take a few weeks for things to balance out and for you to see if it's going to work for you. Typical side effects to this medication may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and dry cough. Have you consulted your doctor? They may want to prescribe a high...

Is maxzide still being manufactured? Is TRIAMT/HCTZ 75-50mg a save replacement? ## Hello, Grace! How are you? Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, frequent urination and dehydration. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I am also71yrs old and have been taking levatol 20 mg for 12yrs , can a person wean off of levatol after taking it for 12yrs ## Hello, June! How are you doing? It really depends, if it's the only thing that's keeping your blood pressure down, then it wouldn't be safe to stop taking it. There is no cure, per se, for high blood pressure, it can only be controlled, though some people do so with diet and exercise. But it is a condition you have to keep under control for life. What are you current blood pressure and heart rate levels? Have you discussed stopping the medication with your doctor? This medication is a beta blocker and its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension. ## Can levatol be taken with olive leaf extract ,if they are taken a few hou...

Is this immediate release or extended / sustained release? I have migraines and this was prescribed as "3 tablets by mouth at bedtime." But if it is immediate release do I really want to be taking all 360 mg at once? Shouldn't I take 1 pill 3 x per day instead? ## Have you asked your doctor, or pharmacist about this? The tablet you asked about is 120mg regular release tablet, which means it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to start working. That is a little higher than the normal preventative migraine dose, which is usually 240mgs at bedtime. ## I too had migraines. I started on Calan SR 120mg (there were no generics ) about 16 years ago. After a year the migraines came back so my doctor increased the dosage to 240 mg. After three years, my insurance company decided that they wo...

UK, NW England, I had high blood pressure and was started on Ramipril, went up to 10mg but still had high BP so amlodipine was introduced and I eventually, after being put on 10mg a day my blood Pressure was stabilized. The side effects I noticed are, first I found erections were not as easy as before any medication and second I seem to be getting indigestion quite a lot. On Occasion I get light headed. I would obviously prefer to NOT take any medication at all but have been advised that is not a good idea. I didn't really notice any of these side effects on ramipril, only after Amlodipine was added. up to 10 mg. I am still trying to get off these tablets or even change but my GP says he is reluctant as my blood pressure is stable now. If anyone knows of any drug that can replace th...

I take losartan hct. 100/12.5 got hip pain and rib pain on left side and iron level of 265 and cannot get any answers iam in pain most of the time what can I do? ## Hello, Joyce! How are you? I am so sorry that you're in pain. Yes, it can cause the pain like that, especially if the Hydrochlorothiazide in it is causing you to get dehydrated, because it is a diuretic that removes excess fluid from the body. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, stomach pain, and hypotension. As to your iron level, many blood pressure drugs can affect those results, so it might not be accurate. Are you feeling fatigued regularly? Extremely tired? ## Yes ## You might be dehydrated, due to the diuretic in this. How much liquids do you take in each day, not inclu...
