I am having problems with light headedness, weakness, fatigue and irregular heartbeats. Can I just stop taking this med. ## Hi Mary, According to an article by Lupin Pharmaceuticals (who I believe may be the manufacturer of this medication), an abrupt discontinuation of Amlodipine + Benazepril has NOT been linked to any sudden increases in blood pressure. Ref: lupinpharmaceuticals.com/pdf/10/Amlodipine-Benazepril.pdf That said, you could probably take the manufacturer's word for it in terms of quitting, but I would probably encourage you to still talk with your doctor before making any changes that you aren't sure of. My guess is that your doctor wouldn't want you to continue taking something that's creating more problems than it's worth. Hope this helps! ## Thank yo...

I HAD A PRESCRIPTION FOR LISINIPRIL A PENTAGON SHAPED PILL I GOT A CVS . THEY USE ANOTHER MANUFACTURER NOW AND AM GETTING MANY SIDE AFFECTS. ## Hello, Lou! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Are you referring to the blue, hexagon shaped tablet with LL on one side and B01 on the other? If so, that isn't a regular Lisinopril tablet. It is manufactured by Lupin Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 12.5mgs of Hydrochlorothiazide and 10ms of Lisinopril. This adds a diuretic to help remove excess fluid from the body. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, increased urination and dehydration. If you weren't supposed to receive this combination medication, then you should report this to your pharmacy as ...

How many years after expiration date is amlodipine good to use& ## Hello, Lolly! How are you? If it is in a bottle as dispensed by your pharmacy, then it would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply, unless your doctor okays your taking it. Medications tend to degrade with time and once they are removed from the factory sealed container and placed in a pharmacy dispensing bottle, they are exposed to the elements that cause degradation, such as heat, light and moisture. Thus, once expired, they will not be as effective as they were, when new. The FDA classifies this medication as a calcium channel blocker that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain...

can i take vgr100 while taking lisinopril 10mg. please let me know ## Hello, Ocean! How are you? You shouldn't combine these, without your doctor's approval. Viagra can also lower your blood pressure, so combining it with the Lisinopril could cause your blood pressure to go too low and may put you in danger. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Viagra as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stuffy nose, blurred vision and priapism. The side effect to Lisinopril may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am on Atenolol and losartan pot 50mg. Well, I am so itchy. My feet itch and my knees have red splotches on them. I was on Lisonopril and it made my liver enzymes so high. I have never had a heart attack, I"m 55 years old and have high blood pressure. What drug can you recommend? thanks. ## Hello, Maria! How are you? I'd suggest asking your doctor about trying Atacand/Candesartan, it is listed by the FDA as an ARB, just like Losartan, but it's known to cause fewer side effects. Its typical ones are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension. Have you had the itching and splotches checked out by your doctor? That could be due to an allergy, or perhaps just a circulatory issue, too.

Will headaches from lisinopril diminish. How long? ## Hello, Mary! How are you? The FDA classifies Lisinopril as an ACE inhibitor that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Along with headaches, other possible side effects may include nausea, dizziness, increased urination, stomach pain and hypotension. The side effects should taper off in time, as your body gets used to the medication, but it may take about 4 to 6 weeks. If the headaches get worse, or don't improve after that time period, then please consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

My husband currently has the flu and we are questioning if the two medications can be taken together. ## Hello, Shelly! How are you? Your husband should check with his doctor, first. My insurance isn't covering this, Anthem Pathway. What is an alternative? ## Hi Meatbe, There are a large number of different blood pressure medications to choose from in the realm of prescription drugs. Linked below is Anthem's 2015 drug formulary, representing their list of covered cardiovascular/hyptertension-related medications on page 28: anthem.com/ca/shop/content/olspublic/pdf/2015/english/MAPD_ComForm_Adv_CA_LA.pdf What I would probably encourage you to do is print out this page and bring it to your doctor to better determine which options are most appropriate based on your condition as well as what your specific plan is willing to cover. I hope this helps!

Will this med make you feel like you have the flu? I feel light headed. I drink no water at all, can this be causing the problems I have? ## Hello, Dennis! How are you? Yes, it can do that, especially if you don't drink any water! You must drink water, if you're taking this medication. The HCTZ stands for Hydrochlorothiazide, which is a diuretic, is helps reduce blood pressure, along with the Losartan, by removing excess fluid from the body. It sounds like you may be getting dehydrated, because it's removing more than you're taking in each day. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and increase urination. Is there anything else I can help with?

What does Take 1 Tablet by Mouth Three Times A Day mean? Should I take it every 8 hours? ## Hello, Jackie! How are you? I'm sorry about the confusion, but I'm happy to clear it up for you. If it doesn't specifically say to take one every 8 hours, then 3 times a day is upon waking/or with breakfast, a lunch time and another a bedtime. Though, you should double check with your doctor to be sure. This medication is classified by the FDA as being a beta blocker that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?
