I am 58 years old, I normally taking Losartan 100mg-12.5 mg as per prescription but a pharmacist refilled the wrong dose i.e., 100mg-25mg and I did not noticed that until 3 weeks later. I took the first 25mg on 11/27/15 and 2 days later I got stomach pain, muscle pain, dark urine, loss of appetite, diarrhea and lost weight 9 pounds in 6 days. I felt better on the seventh day which was 11/3/15. My co-workers said I must have stomach flu because the above symptoms have gone after one week. Now I feel normal. I been taking losartan Hctz 100-25 daily for many years I excersize eat well. About 2 months ago this briefly happened for about a week.. Now again and it's bothersome. My readings are high 184/104 after sitting on couch. Palpitations sitting lying down.Feel better when outside fir some reason Seems to go into my throat also. I do have a goiter on thyroid/voice box. Had been taking metoprolol xl 25 mg one daily for years without issue. Due to recent heart palpitations my dr prescribed metoprolol tartrate 50 mg twice daily. Due to having a gluten sensitivity I have had reactions to the metoprolol tartrate from several pharmaceutical companies and have asked my dr to prescribe my metoprolol 25 mg xl as I had no gluten reactions to this medication. He granted my request and prescribed Metoprolol xl 25 mg twice daily. What I need to know is taking two metoprolol 25 mg xl the same as or equivalent to taking metoprolol tartrate 50 mg twice daily. I had a high blood pressure reading for about a week between 159/69 & 200/69. My doctor changed my meds from Exforge 10/320 once a day to HCTZ 25 mg 3x a week to Diltiazem 240 mg SR caps every 12 hours & Edarbi 80 mg once a day. Gradually I saw a reduction in my blood pressure i.e. between 120/59 & 130/59. However my pulse rate has dropped to fom 70's to between 50 & 55. Today my pulse dropped to 47. This is dangerously low. I left a message at my doctors office, but he has not contacted me back. I am very concerned about this extremely low pulse. Hi, I have Acute Intermittent Porphyria (AIP) and chronic hypertension, recently my BP has been in the 150s/ 110s and higher. My doctor placed me on Concor before and now changed it to Concor AM to help get it under control. I'm in my early 30s and need help with finding the right medication that will help with my BP and not trigger an AIP attack. My doctor and I use the American Porphyria Foundation database to research drugs that are OK but they dont seem to have long term effects.
