How Fast Will My Meds Work

i have mitral valve proplase irregular heart beat pain in chest palpatations. my ekg at rest shows coranary heart disease of a 60 yr old. dr put me on metoprolol i take 35 mg per day i have been on it 4 days an have had no relief. when will it start to work?
