My husband died 6 days after taking Atenolol prescribed by a well known heart Dr. my husband had copd and we found out later he should never have been prescibed a beta blocker. ## Dear Kathy, Sorry to hear about your husband's passing. My condolences go out to you and your loved ones who are left to cope. Have you sought out the idea of taking legal action? Would there be any way for an attorney to prove that Atenolol was the culprit? I don't know the full situation here but it sounds to me like the prescribing Dr. should feel at least some sense of responsibility to empathize with you and your family. Having that feeling of closure and understanding that your husband is resting in peace is what I would probably deem most important. Although no dollar amount can replace your hus...

Hi, I am a 34 year old male. For the last 2-3 years I had palpitations and 1-2 episodes of Spvt (or short Atrial fibrillation lasting 10-30 seconds) per Month. (My cardiologist said that based on my symptoms). I have done Ecg, Echo, holter and a stress test. All results were fine. But, I was scared a lot by those episodes and over time, a doctor suggested me to take a low dose of some Beta blockers. I have happily accepted that... Before this, I was able to walk 1 hour every day (without any problems) and live a regular life (except playing sports since it could trigger the spvt sometimes). In January 2015, I started to take the lowest those of Nebivolol. Everything was fine for the first few weeks, but then I started to experience breathing problems, while walking, sitting, watching tv...

My doctor placed me on lisinopril, which caused constant coughing, heart racing, anxiety, chest pain, belching and a lump-like feeling in my throat. She thought it might be an allergy reaction and so put me on losartan. The cough and chest pain were relieved, but the belching and lump-like feeling in my throat continued. Is there a common ingredient in both that might be responsible for this? Once off the losartan for a month, I was feeling 99% better, but BP started to rise again. I took half of a 25 mg tablet and within one hour the belching and throat discomfort returned. On a side note, I also have a reaction to Septa with severe nausea. ## There is a very good chance that the belching and lump like feeling in your throat are due to excess stomach acid, the medications may be contri...

Thought I must have bumped my knee, as it was a little stiff and sore 2 days ago, but I didn't bump it on anything I recall. Yesterday, it increased to the point of not being able to bend it without extreme pain, and swelling has come on. Took 2 panadol, and the pain receded, if I didn't move it. Today it is worse, and I can't do almost anything. It's a painful struggle to get to the toilet, and sitting is out of the question. I am stuck on my bed for the greater part. If I move it at all, it takes around an hour for the pain to back off. There is a round pink blotch the size of a 50-cent piece slightly above the knee-cap, but I can gently move the kneecap with hand without a problem or pain. Severe pain when bending the knee, and then for hours after, or the pain gets wors

I'm sorry, but there is no directory that tells what pharmacy carries the medication from any given manufacturer, which happens to be Teva Pharmaceuticals, in this case. What generic your pharmacy has in stock can vary, at any time, depending on who was offering the cheapest price, at the time they need to restock their supply. The FDA classifies this medication as a beta blocker that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain types of cardiac issues. Its typical side effects may possible include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I only took a single dose before going to be. The next day I woke up with minor itching on the left side of my neck. Then I noticed my neck was getting tight and the left side of my neck was swelling down to the back of my upper shoulder. The losartan was the only thing new that I had taken. Has anyone else had similar happen to them while on this medication? Is it possible to have such a reaction so soon after taking medication. ## Hello, Kimmie! How are you? I'm so sorry about the problem that you experienced. Yes, that can happen, if you're allergic to a medication. Have you contacted your doctor? You will most likely need to try something else, because allergic reactions usually continue to worsen with exposure. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience trouble breathing...

I have been taking verapamil 240 for a few years. Now I am finding it impossible to get my script filled, I have been told there is a shortage in Australia. When will it be available again? ## I don't know about Australia, but here in New York, my mother is having a very difficult time finding it at CVs pharmacy. If they do get it in stock, it is only a few pills at a time. She heard from the insurance company that the price is going up in January Arianna, so she suspects that the manufacturer is deliberately limiting availability so that everyone is forced to pay higher prices soon. Does anyone have more info?

I need to know what the side affects are. My household girl got this at the clinic for high blood pressure and now after a weeks use her lip is swollen badly. ## Hello, Mary Anne! How are you? I've been unable to find a listing of the active ingredients in this medication. However, I can tell you that as listed by the NIH, such swelling is usually due to an allergic reaction, which could continue to get worse, she may experience more swelling and start to have problems breathing. She needs to consult her doctor, again, about trying a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am taking tribuss tablets and tramacet and my blood pressure went sky high. ## The opioid Tramadol in the Tramacet has been known to cause that in some people that take it, as reported by the FDA. It also carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and constipation. That said, it seems that it may not be the right medication for you to take and you may need to switch to something else. How high was your blood pressure?
